qtx: Sounds somehow saying getting documents from home while abroad is strenuous. I have assisted both relatives and friends get them stress-free. Am just getting to know here that it's a big deal. Must everything in life be made complicated? Or it's just some people that want to make them look so?
Life doesn't need to complicated more than it already is.

Fogman: TRADER DIES DAYS AFTER BEING PUNCHED IN LAGOS MARKET
Tragedy struck at the popular Iga Kosoko Market in Lagos after a trader, Mrs. Shadiat Nurudeen, reportedly died days after being assaulted by a fellow trader.
According to eyewitnesses, the market was shut on September 12, 2025, following the death of a colleague. While traders were packing up their goods, Mrs. Nurudeen, who sold Kampala fabrics at Sunrise Plaza, was arranging her stock when a shop counter belonging to a neighboring store suddenly fell.
The owner of the shop, identified as Mr. Abayomi, was alerted by his staff. Mistakenly believing that Mrs. Nurudeen had caused the damage, he allegedly stormed into her shop and punched her in the nose. The impact left her with a deep cut and heavy bleeding.
She was rushed to three different hospitals before receiving treatment and stitches for her injury. Her employer later advised her to take two weeks off work to recuperate.
Upon resuming, Mrs. Nurudeen reportedly began to experience weakness and confusion. On September 16, she slipped into a coma and was taken to several hospitals before being admitted to Awesome Hospital in Surulere. Due to financial constraints, her family later transferred her to Gbagada General Hospital, where she sadly passed away on September 21, 2025.
The case was immediately reported to the police when the fight broke out. It was later referred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, where officers were informed of Mrs. Nurudeen’s death.
From information gathered, the suspect, Mr. Abayomi, has since absconded, and police have declared him wanted.
adamkkk: If you're a website designer, a good one at that and well known, you must have received offer for broker website from yahoo people(G-Boys).
It is the simplest website to build online if you understand the dynamics. At a time, i was even using WordPress to build broker and all the required functionalities were still there.
The payment ranges from 80k to 300K depending on the negotiation and the client willingness to pay. I made friends with alot of people even without meeting them in person.
Once upon a time, i travelled from Abuja to Imo State to see a long time broker client. Meeting the guy in person was very pleasant. Fine boy like me with so much humility and intelligence. I spent almost a week with the dude.
Often times, i travel to meet clients to solidify our online professional relationship. And all of them seemed nice.
At one time, a friend told me he rejected work from one dude that wanted a "trading broker website". I asked him why and he went on to yab about them being Yahoo and will go to hell, and then the fear that he might be arrested. LOL, na laugh i bursted that day. He was not making any sense to me. I told him, "your job is to compile codes and bring it to a viewable position on the Web. What he does with it is entirely not your business and it even better to avoid knowing what they want to use it for..."
While still in my 200 level in school, i was borrowing car to drive, even from my girlfriend back then. Yes, i was borrowing my girlfriend's car to use. Then one day, my fellow website designer dude came to me and told me how he bought his GLK and started so many businesses in that Delta State and he was doing very well. I was shocked that he could save up to 76million even after buying all these assets including a house he built and his car.
I have known that dude for more than 15yrs and i was certain he wouldn't lie to me. We go a long way and he was very honest with me. He wasn't doing Yahoo, he was simply building websites and brokers and minding his business. Plus of that, Abraka is a home to broker gigs.
I have seen many men doing well by minding their businesses and speaking less. It more like doing more and speaking less.
He built a popular broker back then in Abraka(Ochukofx) and even an app. He was doing well from a job i taught him. Lol.
I remember building and selling one Ecommerce website and app sometime ago, and guess what, it was a hit. It was popular but the dude couldn't handle the Ecommerce deals by himself so he was faced with missed delivery and even couldn't deliver what some people ordered even though they paid for the laptops and phones.
I respect privacy a lot, so i can't speak so much about my clients here. I was also a team of 5 professionals that built a popular Ecommerce website in Nigeria and South Africa.
While most of the websites are used legally, there are some that are used for illegal gigs even including p¤rn and gambling.
So with that being said, would you say a website designer is an accessory to crime if the website is used for something illegal ?
Wow amazing write-up bro.
I agree with your line of thoughts that we developers our job is mainly on compiling codes.
Bringing it to a viewable position on the Internet.
While we may be curious to know the final aim of the website what is done with it I think isn't our business since we are been paid for it.
That's been said I would appreciate it if I can reach out and work with you.
I have high experience in frontend and backend stack and I can definitely add value to your business thank you.
Babtunz: Exactly Plus the count for each reaction should be placed within the button itself not outside. I’m not a designer but this new design still needs some improvements IMHO.
Yes the likes been in the box itself is a good idea
Kutunban: Software engineering is becoming less demanding because of AI. Microsoft and other tech giants recently layed off 5000 software engineering employees. I saw it on techcrunch.

TONYE001: Hello, thanks for visiting my online tech diary.
Uhhhmm...as I see it, there is no limit to what one can do. No career should limit anyone from pursuing other desires/aspirations. Being a doctor/lawyer/etc should not limit one's options of pursuing other skills like tech, business, etc.
For me, I love the tech world, and I'm just curious as to how far my interest can take me to.
Importantly, learning tech gives me a sweet chance of diversifying and expanding income.
My tech ambition does not interfere with executing my responsibilities as a doctor - and vice versa.
DyshApp: Veteran Nollywood actress, Kate Henshaw, has fired back at online trolls who shame people for aging, especially the younger ones (mostly men) who throw around terms like "old woman" as insults.
In a now-viral video, Kate made it clear that growing older is not something to be mocked, but a blessing that many don’t get to enjoy. She asked an important question: “Do you people want to die young?” Because the same people who celebrate long life on birthdays are the ones who turn around and use “old” as a slur. She called this behavior ignorant and hypocritical.
"Nobody can shame me. Nobody." Kate said she has zero tolerance for such nonsense and emphasized that she won’t let society’s standards dictate how she should look, act, or live just because of age.
She described age-shaming as a tired, outdated insult, and reminded her viewers that many people pray daily to reach the age she has. She also touched on how maturity gives you a kind of freedom that’s rare — a superpower to live truthfully and unapologetically.
She didn’t stop there. She questioned the idea of “society” setting rules on how people should dress or behave after a certain age. “Who made you the principal, judge and jury?” she asked.
Henshaw stressed that “ageism is dead” and the only people bothered by age are those who are insecure. Instead of seeking validation from people who barely know you, she encouraged everyone to:
✨ Face God. Face yourself. Be honest with who you are. ✨ Stop living for people. Life is short. ✨ Stand in your truth, your power, your awesomeness.
Her final words hit hard: “God didn’t create us as a WhatsApp group. We’re all individuals—separate, but awesome all the same.”

Ablesam171: Let’s be honest with ourselves, this is far from the truth. The actual situation is much worse than what’s being claimed.
I’m no math expert, but I’ll break it down as I see it. If you claim ₦1,000,000 is now worth ₦100,000, that implies a reduction of about 0.1%. But in reality, (base on prices of regular household commodities) the decline has been far more drastic. From 2015 to now, the value of money has dropped by over 1,000% (0.001%) which is actually more than the 0.1% that was state In my estimation, ₦1,000,000 in 2015 is barely worth ₦50,000 today, based on the prices of everyday household items. Let's even leave prices of cars and luxuries lets use regular daily needs of Nigerians.
How much did Sunflower oil cost in 2015 compared to now?
Let’s look at the numbers: Spaghetti (500g Golden Penny): In 2019, it was ₦150 (retail); today, it’s ₦1,500. Sunflower oil: In 2019, ₦3,500; now, over ₦25,000. Garri Egba, (in Ibadan): In 2019, ₦300 per congo; now, over ₦2,000.
And this is just 2019 if we go back to 2015 prices, you’ll see that the cost of basic food items has surged by nearly 2,000%.
Keep in mind, by 2015, the ₦18,000 minimum wage was already four years old, meaning inflation had long taken hold. So, if anything, I’m being generous to the government by using 2019 as a reference.
