US don't like fighting war in their homeland, no war except the American civil war have ever been fought in US soil, so they use allies to take it to enemy territory even though they will be the ones fighting the war.

USSR lost over 15million soldiers while Germany lost just 7million in all the war they fought on western and Eastern fronts fighting Allied Forces comprising of UK, Poland, France, Australia, Canada, USSR, etc.
