In 2014, Atiku, Saraki and Co showed disregard for PDP when they decamped to work against PDP. In 2025, Atiku has shown disregard for the PDP by solely engaging in coalition talks without carrying the PDP along.

Reports emerged that Peter Obi submitted a one-term proposal to ADC. He also attended the ADC inaugural coaliton meeting without carrying his party along.

This is indiscipline, anti-party activity and disregard. It demonstrates that politicians see parties as special purpose vehicles, not organizations to be respected.

By the way, the strange ideas promoted by the likes of Kola Ologbodiyan that they can remain in PDP and work in ADC do not make sense. According to Nigeria's electoral laws, you cannot be a member of two political parties. This is to ensure there is no doctoring of the parties' membership register.

Anyone who wants to run for primaries under ADC must resign from Labour Party or PDP. If they do not do that because they want to eat their cake and eat it again by having one leg in ADC and having a fall back on LP or SDP or PDP if they fail, that is enough to invalidate their candidacy. My advice to INEC is to make an amendment to the laws so that all parties must conduct their primaries same day and submit their candidates to INEC same day. That way, if someone makes a gamble in ADC and fails, he cannot fall back on another party as these people do.
