BlueRayDick: The problem spy has is that his love for his favorite players usually cloud his judgement and objectivity on some issues. How can anyone say Lokonga should play DM again ?
The moment Lokonga plays DM , just expect Xhaka’s brain fart and double legged lunging tackles to materialize cos the midfield will turn express and Xhaka out of passion will mow any opposition player down. I like Lokonga too but as DM ? Abeg ohhhh |

Make I no lie, I love wetin I see from that guy clip sha. I dont fancy this purchase honestly, I mean I see reasons why omari had to leave. We just got Marquinhos, how will he grow if you dont give him playing time, Reiss Nelson is there oo. What is the probability that he will come good? |

Spy360: There is a reason Arteta wants to sign another backup for Tierney and it's because he can no longer trust Tavares going into next season. This is also my reason. However I prefer we get Zinchenko. I am not attracted to the prospect of Hickey.
I accept 2 quality midfielders should be ideal. I can't see Xhaka giving us the level of performance he gave this season. Same to Elneny. They should be there for their experience and nurturing the young bloods. Next season again, we will find another reason to buy another defender again. Hickey is not enough lol. Abeg make una rest biko |

Spy360: Arsenal squad for last season...
Goal- Ramsdale, Leno
Defense- White, Gabriel, Tomiyasu, Cedric, Tierney, Tavares, Holding
Midfield- Xhaka, Partey, Lokonga, Elneny, Odegaard
Attack- Saka, ESR, Martinelli, Lacazette, Nketiah, Pepe,
Leaving - Leno, Lacazette, Pepe
Coming - Goalkeeper (1), Defender (2) Midfielder (1), Attacker (2)
We need a goalkeeper who will be willing to be backup as well as able to challenge for No1
We need two defenders, a CB and a LB as Tavares is unreliable
We need a midfielder who can cover both pivots
We need two Attackers, one who can play either wings, and a true CF
My suggestions
Goalkeeper - Turner (Signed) Defence - Saliba (returned), Zinchenko Midfielder - Tielemans Attack - Jesus/Gnabry, Nunez/Osimhen Defender, What Trusty is for what? |

Jodera: My Ratings for the season
Goalkeepers Ramsdale (7.5) - Few eyebrows were raised when he was signed. Quickly became fans' favourite with his commanding displays such as great saves and good passing abilities. Great signing.
Leno (5.5) - Had the worst possible start any goalkeeper will dread by conceding 9 goals in his first 3 matches though with not so good back 4. Usurp by Ramsdale after that but he put on a good display against Aston villa. Capable back up
Defenders
Gabriel (7.5) - Arguably Arsenal's best defender of the season. Vocal enough and his passes was essential in arsenal's buildup from the back. Put in a few important goals for arsenal in the fight for top 4
White (6.5) - Able Partner to Gabriel. His passes was also important to arsenal's buildup from back. Seems to go about his work calmly.
Tierney (6.5) - Injuries affected his availability this season. Seems to give his all when playing as he's strong defensively as well as attacking wise. Hopefully a fitter KT next season
Tomiyasu (7.0) - Strong performances from the very first time he donned the club's color. Difficult to beat aerially or defensively. He's also good going forward. Seems to drop a bit of form after his long time out but that won't discredit his strong showings before his injury
Cedric (6.5) - A very good deputy to Tomiyasu during the latter's absence. Played his part well in ensuring arsenal fight for top4 as Tomi wasn't keenly felt.
Tavarez (5.5) - Very strong performances during the first half of season during Tierney's absence. Made fans momentarily forgot how good KT was. Second half of the season was a complete opposite. He seemed short of confidence, positionally poor and bad defensively.
Holding (6.5) - Did his perfectly as an impact sub when seeing out games. Arsenal tend to improve defensively to see out a win with Holding's introduction. Had a dismal showing against Tottenham but that's the only blemish for him this season
Midfielders
Partey (8.5) (POTY) - The heartbeat of arsenal's Midfield and attack. Started slowly but quickly peaked at the right time of arsenal's season. Consistent world class displays for months as a lone DM made arsenal a genuine contender for the top4 battle. Season-ending Injury derailed his impressive campaign as well as arsenal's.
Xhaka (7.0) - Excellent showing from Granit in his new found advanced position. Less mistakes and he kept things ticking. Best season for him in an Arsenal's shirt
Odegaard (7.5) - A rather hit and miss season for him. World class for a couple of weeks, disappear/normal another couple of weeks. Good thing is that his good days was more than his bad. Need improvement in games that goes very physical as that was what was missing in the two crucial games that made us lose out on top 4.
Lokonga (6.0) - EPL seemed to physical and advanced for him presently. Slow in thoughts and execution but a very tidy player. Not physical or technical enough to impose himself in games.
Elneny (7.0) - Seemed to revive arsenal's season when all hope seems lost with his commanding displays starting from Chelsea's game. One of the brightest players after Partey absence. Arsenal faltered towards the end of the season, but he'll be one of those who can hold their heads high.
Attackers
Saka (8.0) - Arsenal's brightest player and attacker from the very first minute. Most consistent player in terms of performance and fitness. Good decision making as well as being strong physically(not easily bullied). His goal increase this season sums up the improvement he's had over the years. A gem!
Lacazette (6.0) - Started brightly during the first half of the season we were grinding out wins. Gave a further improved display during the exile and eventual sale of Auba as he was giving assists and makes the attack flow. Then it went downhill from there. Seems to lose confidence and it showed in his game and he also tends to hide from goalscoring opportunities
Smith Rowe (7.0) - The king during first half of arsenal's season. Came up with important and match winning goals as arsenal looked for match consistency. Towards the 2nd half of the season, he wasn't that influential as the first half but he still gave his best.
Martinelli (6.5) - Missed the early campaign due to injury as his season started in mid November. Exciting and direct. He brought explosiveness to arsenal's attack as well as workrate.
Nketiah (7.0) - five goals in 8 starts tells one the impact Eddie had two the end of season. Brought life, energy, workrate and directness in arsenal's attack as arsenal looked to secure top 4.
Pepe (4.5) - Wasn't featured mostly in the campaign but whenever he does, he's largely inconsistent. Seems to make simple things difficult and most times he's not in sync with his teammates.
Coach
Arteta (7.0) - Splendid and more dominant displays and performances from previous seasons. In-game tactics needs to be improved on as well as discipline (2nd team with the most red cards). Nice ratings.... I feel Leno was just a victim of circumstances during the beginning of the season jare. I will give Eleney 6.0( he was good no doubt but not a warrior like Partey) Ermmm Saka consistent in performance and fitness? I do not agree ohhh, sometimes his fatigue affected his input during game time ohhhh but he deserves his rating all thanks to his Oga that think he must every game. I am happy he did not break a leg. About Rowe, still same thing I am saying about squad rotation , we have push that dude to different positions it wouldn't be nice to confuse his head lol. He will come good , unfortunately Martinelli is bossing that left wing right now I will give Arteta 5.5, one significant reason is his poor team management. He didn't learn that from Pep. |

Jodera: Thank goodness you know I find it ridiculous that Lokonga was backup to Partey cos I knew about him when I was asking for Partey's replacement. Everyone who followed knows that Arsenal dominance really started when we shifted to 433 with Partey as a lone DM. I extensively talked about how it made arsenal dominate teams due to Partey's quality and how we might falter without his quality as nobody is capable of that and not even Lokonga whose body frame and quality can't even handle such role. Most people talked about it too and that's why we asked for quality additions in January for our top 4 push. It's all about quality and not just having anybody and hoped it'll just work out. The club took a big and massive risk on Partey's fitness and it backfired spectacularly. Thinking that Lokonga will replace Partey in that role at crucial stages of the season is even more ridiculous on its own. Let me believe that lokonga purchase was to be a back up to Xhaka more self cos who on earth is that scout that saw Lokonga and believe that he will be Partey back up. Shaky shaky lokonga. I think he need a loan next season to maybe a mid epl club. What happened to danilo? |

BlueRayDick: I do not support Arsenal signing Tammy Abraham. Instead of signing Abraham we should give Nketiah a new contract and sign another striker of a different mould . I’ve seen enough of Tammy Abraham at Chelsea and I’m not a fan of his to the extent of wishing we sign and make him our top 9 . RT!!! |

Jodera: Lol... Even though the end of the season tale was a sad end, I would still acknowledge the fact that Arteta tried. I'm angry we missed out on top 4, I'm angry that his in-game tactical decision when trailing is poor, but him just try.
Stupid January decisions finally caught up with us I agree with you on this. My only anger is that we are losing that spot to Tottenham. Just like Xhaka said,we are not ready for UCL. We have a lot of decisions to make next season from transfers to tactics all the way to choosing a captain. It is time to add ruthless to our game. We need a loud leader. I will still choose xhaka over anyone presently in that squad(if only Gabriel speak english). Enough of buying soft boys abeg. Again let me turn to a town crier in this striker dept( G. Jesus purchase will only make sense if you are buying another striker like Martinez or Nunez or Oshimen) Give Nikky a new contract and loan him out ,he can come handy only. He is still need to be exposed to good football before fighting for main role. I can't wait for sailba to come back ,I have this feeling that if Arteta would allow him play for some games,he will realised that White was an unnecessary purchase. Arteta need to learn man management at this point. If we calm down with some of our returnees we may not need buying too many players |

Everything is soft soft.
Abeg this coming season, let Elneny go, give Nikky contract and send him on loan, buy another striker aside G. Jesus.
GET A REAL DM who is strong and can fight his battles well.
I still don't understand Hickey purchase honestly unless u r selling Tavares.

Roland17: Naaaa. Arsenal are not chasing the top 4 at all. We have achieved our season target by qualifying for Europa league and people have gotten their contract extensions for meeting the target, everything else na jara. I don’t believe the FA is interested in what you are making inferences to. Twice this year, Arsenal have been in control of the 4th position and we blew it, this has nothing to do with the FA or refs.
This is a team of mediocrity/ weak mentality and showing signs of lethargy and indifference to finishing 4th. It is a very thin squad that is now beat down and barely able to stay up by the 90th minute of most games, consequently, they have nothing left. The PK against Spuds was questionable I admit but we played very very poorly to deserve anything from that game.
While wins against United and Chelsea were great and repositioned us, it should not overshadow the fact that the team was playing poorly and had lost consecutive games against Palace and Brighton. Post United/ Chelsea we scraped wins against the Hammers and Leeds, finishing both games parking Dangote trailers and Bokoharam tested trailers.
Our only hope is for Burnley to perform some magic with hopes that we can get all 6 points from our remaining fixtures against Newcastle and Everton. Once again, we are in control. What are you saying please? Which team is full of weak mentality? Team of so many young people pushing and pushing. Cut Arteta some slack bro. We all know that NLD for a long time is always "win in your home, I win in mine". |
