📍Members of the Coalition of Peter Obi Support Groups (CPO) in Kwara have raised alarm over an alleged plot by some leaders of the Labour Party in the state to negotiate the collapse of its political structure

📍The Secretary of the CPO in the state, Mr Omoniyi Idowu, and the state Lead Coordinator, M&E of the group, Mr Aloysius Nwora, raised the alarm on Wednesday in Ilorin while speaking with newsmen.

📍They said the political structure was of both the presidential and vice presidential candidates of the party, OBIDATTI structure, with a political party ahead of the Saturday presidential election.

📍The CPO leaders said that they had never and would never collapse their structure or form any alliance with any political party or group of people “to sell the OBIDATTI mandate”.

📍They said that the group comprised over 20 support groups in the state, all working day and night tirelessly towards success of the OBIDATTI 2023 Mandate.

“We, the entire members of Coalition of Peter Obi support group, Kwara chapter, wishes to express our disappointment with some Leaders of LP and some greedy candidates who are going around negotiating the collapse of the OBIDATTI structure in Kwara state.

“We hereby appeal to members of the general public who have decided to cast their votes for OBIDATTI come Feb. 25, 2023, to ignore whoever may misguide the public between now and before election, and stand firm with us for a new Nigeria.

”We also advise the greedy individuals who are involved in this dishonest activities to desist from the act.

“Each of the support groups have structures in strategic Local Government Area of the state and with a collaborative effort of the support group.

A joint security force, comprising the military, police, SSS and NSCDC, has arrested the chairmen of Ungogo and Rimingado Local Government Areas of Kano State, Abdullahi Ramat and Munir Dahiru respectively with pistols.

📍A credible security source told DAILY NIGERIAN that the duo was arrested while leading armed thugs to attack the convoy of the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP, Rabiu Kwankwaso, along Zaria Road, Kano.

“The joint security force was on a show of force when they encountered the chairmen leading the thugs. The security agents immediately disarmed the chairmen and arrested over 100 thugs laying ambush on the NNPP candidate.

📍They are currently detained at the Criminal Investigation Department, and the joint security force is intensifying patrol in the city to bring all the criminals to book,” the source added.

Spokesman for Kano Police Command Abdullahi Kiyawa did not respond to DAILY NIGERIAN call and text message at the time of filing this report.

The police have earlier advised the political parties to shelve their rallies on Thursday to avoid clash, but all the parties insisted on exercising their rights to peaceful assembly.

In response to the police advisory, the NNPP said Mr Kwankwaso had completed his campaign tour of all the 36 states and Abuja without any incident anywhere in the country, and like other presidential candidates, he is coming home to vote.

A Political Group In Ilorin , The Kwara State State capital known as Save Kwara Group has accused the Kwara state Government of bribing a policeman directly from the state Treasury just days before the General Elections.

📍Governor Abdulraman Abdulraman Abdulrazak has started a last-minute payment to Police Officers in Kwara state, a move that appears illegal, as the Federal Police are statutorily paid by the Federal Government the group spokesman Kassim Ishola said.

📍In Several screenshots obtained, a sum of 10,000 has been paid with the reference “Red cross project” into the accounts of the Policemen in the state, with more money going to officers higher up, it remains to be seen if this is in contravention of the Electoral act and the money laundering laws in Nigeria. According to multiple sources in the Police, the alert was unexpected and the surprising part is the source designation: “Kwara State Government Suregate”, many were bewildered that the state itself decided to pay from the official treasury.

📍In the middle of a cash crunch that has led to protests and riots, Nigerians will go to the polls to elect the next President on Saturday, and many have complained that while the cash crunch may have been planned to curb vote buying, it could actually exacerbate the issue as most people are in need of cash and others believe scrupulous politicians may resort to mass credit alerts like the one in Kwara state.

BREAKING: Southern Kaduna Group (SOKAPU) adopts Atiku

📍According to him, SOKAPU said the people decided in collaboration with the Southern Kaduna Leadership Council (SKLC) after weighing all the options available on ground.

📍Addressing a press conference on Thursday, the SOKAPU President, Awemi Dio Maisamari, and the chairman of Southern Kaduna Leadership Council, Ishaya Dary Akau, said having weighed the capacity of PDP and Labour Party (LP), they discovered that PDP has wider outreach than LP.

Ahead of Saturday’s presidential election, the Joint Action Committee of Northern Youth Associations has declared support for the Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, for the poll.

🥇They said Atiku, who’s also a former Vice President, was their preferred candidate because he had over the years garnered enough experience to govern Nigeria.

📍JACOM, comprising over 70 youth organizations in the 19 Northern States and Abuja, said their choice of Atiku was based on the fact that of all the 18 presidential candidates, he has all it takes to rebuild the country.
