A middle aged man is currently on the run after stabbing his younger brother to death at Tokunbo house, Kamoru street, Orisumbare, Alimosho, Lagos .

It was gathered that their mom had dropped the sum of N500 for the younger brother, Chinaza, when she was stepping out on Sunday, November 17, 2019.

However, the elder brother, Fortune (IK), later requested for the money but Chinaza refused to release it. This angered the suspect and he went for a glass cup, broke it and stabbed his brother in the throat.

He then rushed him to the hospital, where he was confirmed brought in dead. Fortune later fled the hospital, returned home and lied that he was told to go and bring ATM to withdraw money. But he changed his cloth and disappeared.

This is another sad day for justice in Nigeria as Busola Dakolo's case againt popular Abuja-based pastor of COZA, Biodun Fatoyinbo was dismissed for lack of merit and evidence, with Busola now ordered to pay N1M in damages to Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo.

The civil case against Biodun Fatoyinbo was initiated this year when the plantiff accused Fatoyinbo of molesting her when she was just 17 years old and a new member of his church which was based in Illorin, Kwara state back then. Busola granted several interviews and was covered by international press like the Washington post and other reputable media outlets outlining the #Metoo movement.

Unfortunately, the case has not ended the way many would have wanted, the court has found the allegations to lack merit and evidence and hence dismissed it.

Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Uriel Oputa has lambasted a man who sent her a message criticising her choices.

The man, who sent a message saying that her buying underwears from ‘Victoria Secret’ is not a big deal as there are other places she could shop for underwears.

Victoria Secret underwears are one of the most expensive brands and Uriel was not apologetic to have shopped from the brand.

Afterwards, the man recommended a place where she could shop cheaply and the reality TV star attacked him and dismissed his advice.

Lagos State Government is set to host the year 2019 edition of the World Science Day for Peace and Development.

The grand finale of the event which comes up on Monday 18th November, 2019 at Adeyemi Bero Auditorium, Alausa, Ikeja, aims to ensure that citizens are kept informed of developments in science.

The theme of this year is “Open science, leaving no one behind”.

World Science Day for Peace and Development highlights the significant role of Science in society and the need to engage the wider public in debates on emerging scientific issues. It also underlines the importance and relevance of science in our daily lives.


The Commissioner for Science and Technology Mr. Hakeem Fahm disclosed that the Day offers the opportunity to assemble all actors around the topic of science for peace and development from Government officials to academia to school pupils, to share ideas on ways of renewing National peace.

Not too long ago, the beef between DBanj and his former manager, Bankulli popped up again today.. and it has just gotten messier.

Leaders of the All Progressives Congress APC, in Edo State have suspended the state governor, Godwin Obaseki, his deputy governor, Philip Shuaibu and the Secretary to the state Government, Osarodion Ogie for alleged anti party activities.

The suspension comes as the crisis in rocking the Edo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress gets messier by the day.

At a meeting of APC leaders at the party secretariat, the suspension of Oshiomhole and some party local government chairmen were upheld.

The suspension of Obaseki, his Deputy, Philip Shaibu and others were carried out at the residence of General Charles Airhiavbere by the Edo Peoples Movement, a pressure group within the APC.

In a bid to control noise pollution, the Lagos State Government has said it will not hesitate to close down any mosque, church, night clubs and others, which constitute environmental nuisance.

Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tunji Bello, in a statement, yesterday stated that the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) had been mandated to apply the full weight of the law.

He said the action became imperative because his office had been inundated with complaints and petitions from many residents and associations all over the state about the noise levels of many of the leisure centres and religious homes.

Bello, who added that on a continuous basis, LASEPA officials will be going round religious centres, homes and others, warned that anyone found to have exceeded the allowed level of sound output will be closed down and the appropriate sanctions applied.

The commissioner also lamented that his office had also discovered many leisure centres/religious homes that contravened, after being reopened by the government, usually go back to the same noise pollution for which they were earlier axed,

While disclosing that resident associations have been involved in the control of noise pollution in the state, he added that any shut centre, will not be reopened without a letter of guarantee from the residents association of such an area.

He advised religious and leisure centres to procure sound proof equipment which would lessen the sound that emanate from them.

Bello said the administration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu will not allow any business concern to put the well being of residents at peril for whatever reason.

John Legend has been named People Magazine's 'Sexiest Man Alive' for 2019. The announcement was made by Blake Shelton who was given the title in 2017, on Tuesday's episode of "The Voice" where they are both judges.



The crowd went wild with excitement after Blake Shelton welcomed the Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony-winning musician with his new title.



"It is my duty to formally introduce the next 'Sexiest Man Alive,' " Shelton said. "He just so happens to be here tonight. Ladies and gentlemen, the man, the myth, the Legend: 2019's Sexiest Man Alive.' "

Shelton continued, "You already came into this show with an EGOT. And, then you won 'The Voice,' so it became a VEGOT. Now you have a VEGOTSMA," referring to Legend's legendary list of accolades.



Shelton went on to give Legend a pair of shorts bedazzled with "EGOTSMA," an acronym symbolizing Legend's big wins plus the latest addition: Sexiest Man Alive. John Legend is now one of the only 15 "EGOT" winners that have won the title.

BARRING any hitches, the former Secretary to the Edo State Government, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu will defect to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) any moment from now.

Ize-Iyamu, the PDP candidate in the 2015 governorship election in Edo State who confirmed the move in a telephone interview with Tribune Online yesterday said that he decided to yield to pressure from his supporters who have persistently pleaded with him to “return home.”.

The former South-South zonal vice-chairman of the APC who is presently in Abuja to strategize his declaration said that he succumbed to pressure from his supporters because of the disarray within the rank of the opposition party.

He said that having done his best to reconcile the warring parties within the PDP without success, he decided to call it quit and was fully set to join the APC.

He said that he was in Abuja to meet with the top leadership of the party so as to perfect the plan for the defection which will take place at a grand rally to be held in the Edo State capital.

Ize-Iyamu, however, insisted that as a founding member of the Action Congress (AC) which metamorphosed to the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) and later the APC following the merger of several parties, he was merely returning home and not defecting.

He said:
Quote
“It is true that I am leaving the PDP for the APC. I am not defecting but merely returning home. I am quitting the PDP because of the too many problems bedevilling the party which I have tried in my own way to resolve without success. It is not a rumour, I am going back home to APC.”.

Only recently, a pressure group, PDP Integrity Group suspended the trio of the former Foreign Affairs Minister, Chief Tom Ikimi, former Chief of Staff to the President, Chief Mike Oghiadohme and former ex-Minister of Works, Mr Mike Onolememen from the party over alleged anti-party activities.

Also suspended were Chief Raymond Dokpesi, Senator Yisa Braimoh, Senator Victor Oyofo and the former leader of the House of Representatives, Col. Tunde Akogun.

Raheem Sterling appears to be a bitter individual when he took a bust up he had with Joe Gomez when his club Manchester city played Liverpool over to the English national camp as he tries to jack up the much bigger Joe Gomez, asking him "Are you still a big man now?". It reads comical, it sounds comical and trust me, it is indeed comical.

Twitter has been flooded with memes of Raheem Sterling's childish antics, especially his lack of reasoning for going after Joe Gomez after they had made peace at the end of the Liverpool v Manchester City Match.

Many people think, Raheem Sterling might have been provoked by the social media reaction to the earlier bust-up where his chances of tackling Joe Gomez was dismissed by all parties due to his small size, which made him go to the extreme to prove his point.
