TV/Movies / NFL Broadcasting Rules by JohnWilson01: 10:47am On Apr 04, 2013
Hello Members,

Each weekend in autumn and early winter, hundreds of thousands of professional football fans sit down in front of their television set to watch their favorite NFL team in action. NFL broadcast contracts are some of the most popular and lucrative in all of professional sports and are governed by a set of rules created by the National Football League.

Broadcasting Networks: Unlike the other major professional sports, which rely on each team's regional television network to broadcast the vast majority of games, all NFL games are produced and broadcast by national networks, although not all games are aired coast-to-coast. Currently, there are five networks airing National Football League games: CBS, FOX, ESPN, NBC, and the league's own channel, the NFL Network. CBS and FOX have exclusive rights to air Sunday afternoon games, while NBC holds the rights air to air prime-time Sunday night contests.

Sunday Afternoon Broadcasts: Each network's affiliate can pick which game or games it wishes to broadcast, though the final decision ultimately lies with the network. Typically, an affiliate will select a game involving a team in its home market, such as the FOX station in New York selecting a game involving the New York Giants, or a game with regional interest, such as the CBS station in Syracuse selecting a game involving the Buffalo Bills.

Prime-Time Broadcasts: The rule allowing over-the-air broadcast does not extend beyond the set boundaries of a team's television market. For example, with the New England Patriots, the over-the-air broadcast rights extend only to the Boston market and no where else within the region. Those games can be broadcast on an over-the-air station within the designated television markets of the two teams playing. The over-the-air station receives the broadcast feed from the cable network and simulcasts it. This rule is in place to allow non-cable subscribers within a team's television market to watch the game.

Other National Broadcasts: All playoff games are also broadcast nationally with each game being played in its own time slot. The broadcast rights to all playoff games are divided among the regular-season networks, with NBC holding the rights to broadcast the two Saturday games during wild card weekend. CBS has the rights to all other AFC playoff games, and FOX holds the rights to all other NFL playoff games, up to and including the conference championship games.

TV/Movies / Netflix Streaming Size by JohnWilson01: 10:31am On Apr 03, 2013
Hello all,

With Netflix's "Watch Instantly" feature, you can stream videos to your computer or to any of many Netflix-compatible devices, like gaming consoles and even some TVs. The amount of data you stream depends on the capabilities of your Internet connection, but you have options to restrict it if you prefer. Although dealing with specifics about streaming rates and bandwidth usage can sometimes be confusing, estimating and configuring your data usage isn't too difficult. If your Internet service provider lets you view data usage at its website, then you should use their information, since it will be more accurate than an estimate. Your "streaming rate" is how quickly you're accessing data on the Internet, and it's measured by speed, usually in increments of kilobits per second ("Kbps") and megabits per second ("Mbps"). There are 1000 kilobits in a megabit. In order to view any content on Netflix, you need to have an Internet connection of at least 500 Kbps.

TV/Movies / Prime-time Broadcasts: by JohnWilson01: 6:30am On Apr 02, 2013
Hello Members,

All prime-time games, including those on Thursday, Sunday and Monday, are broadcast coast-to-coast by national networks. The networks that broadcast prime-time games hold exclusive rights to them. However, there is an exception in the NFL broadcasting rules for night games broadcast on cable stations, most notably ESPN and NFL Network. Those games can be broadcast on an over-the-air station within the designated television markets of the two teams playing. The over-the-air station receives the broadcast feed from the cable network and simulcasts it. This rule is in place to allow non-cable subscribers within a team's television market to watch the game.

TV/Movies / Digital Audio Job Detail: by JohnWilson01: 6:15am On Mar 29, 2013
Hello Friends,

The audio-visual team leader will usually set up and take down the sound system for the Sunday morning service, including all microphones for the pastors, choir and other worship leaders. He will also assist with the sound needs of the worship band and choir, including performing a sound check for quality prior to the service and operating the sound mixer. The sound technician should maintain all sound equipment, and arrange for repairs or purchases of equipment. Special services, such as memorials, weddings or other performances through the church year require setup and special attention to the particulars of the service. The audio-visual person ideally should recruit and train church volunteers to step in when the sound technician is not available.

TV/Movies / Advantages Of Online Broadcasts: by JohnWilson01: 7:00am On Mar 22, 2013
Hello Friends,

When organisations deliver online broadcasts in the form of webinars or webcasts, you can establish the credibility of your organisation by letting your viewers (internal or external) know that you have invested time and money on the online broadcasts and that you are serious about these online broadcasts. You are also able to better prepare your viewers about the agenda of the online broadcasts through the various options which online broadcasts service providers give. Unlike a live presentation, online broadcasts also gives the online viewers option to view the content later or in some cases, pause the content and view them later. There is also an option of rescheduling online broadcasts such as a webinar unlike a live conference where the participants would have already arrived at the venue and rescheduling the conference is not possible. Online broadcasts also give added functionalities such as taking notes, Q&A sessions and many other features which are not likely to be present in a regular traditional type of meeting. Meetings held over online broadcasts can be held in a more informal way. The participants in online broadcasts are likely to be much more comfortable with a familiar environment rather than a formal setting. The host can handle the online broadcasts sessions with much more ease.
