dippy: Good. I don't know if anyone hired from Nigeria so far. You can try Express entry and the provincial nominations. SINP seems to be on fire now. Else the quickest way to land here physically is as a student. There are a few colleges teaching business analysis but since you have cbap might as well do something different like business intelligence or data modeling. Those are the hottest roles right now. All the best 1 Like |

shinarambo1: Thanks. Here's the tricky bit. My first degree is in IT however i chose to go the marketing route as my career. I spent 12 working in marketing as an Event Manager before coming to study Project Management. So, yes i had a first degree in IT but you don't need IT experience to work as a project manager. Another lucrative career here is Business Analysis and you need zero IT background for that as well. Your resume and reality are two different things so it's all about packaging 6 Likes |

Good people of Nigeria, I haven't posted here in a while. I'm happy to see that many people are still going the route of studies in their quest to live the Canadian dream. Studying here does not guarantee a good job when you graduate but it sure makes it easier to fit into the system. I've said this before, please only study relevant courses where you can get a job. A little update on my journey. I came in Jan 2015, studied IT project Management at Seneca for 1 year (8 months plus coop). Got a good job in December 2015 before i graduated and I've been working there till now. Got a pay raise so now in the 6 digits but that's not me trying to brag. It took hard work and dedication. I have kept my eyes on the ball. Even though you are a student, know why you are here. If the goal is to remain here then make sure you have all the information you need early. Don't wait till you finish school to start running from lawyer to lawyer and wasting money. Like i said, i arrived Jan 2015, I completed IELTS in April 2015 (scored maximum points in each area), completed WES by June 2015, applied for Ontario nomination by November 2015, got nominated and have now successfully applied for my PR. Stay focused, stay informed and study/work hard. I wish everyone success in their journey and a big thanks to all those who responded to my questions and gave advice along the way. God bless 21 Likes 1 Share |

congrats to your Mrs, not easy passing these exams here. I already applied for the Ontario PNP, awaiting nomination. my score is over 440 so crossing my fingers that the law bends in my favour or i get nominated this month. I love the location, ontario is close to a lot of places. Different flights to tons of countries and pretty affordable. i've been doing a lot of travelling (i know i should be saving too). I'm glad things are working out and wish you a fab 2016. Let's keep in touch and keep helping people achieve the Canadian dream.Regards to your wife. saxywale: 5 Likes 1 Share |

we're hopeful that with the new govt, the scores will come down drastically or more points be awarded to international students. so we might see a lot of people receiving ITA for PR this quarter. all the best with your masters, you still have a little way to go. but study hard. i got 4.0 out of 4.0 GPA so that really helped me. sholay2011: 3 Likes |

Happy new year people. I haven't been on here in a while. Life in Canada has been so fast. I just want to encourage everyone that with hard work and God you will succeed. I did an 8 months programme at Seneca college and a 4 month coop (Jan - dec 2015). My first job which started in Dec is as an IT Project Manager earning over $80k per annum. Stay focused and you can do it too, do not try to cut corners or beat the system. Canada is a land of opportunities and with God's grace and handwork the sky is your limit. I just thought to encourage all those aspiring to come, the new comers and those who have finished studying. Get on the express entry pool as soon as possible because things are about to change pretty quickly. God bless you all and have a beautiful year in Canada 28 Likes |

Well i don't have kids yet and I was advised not to apply with spouse so I didn't. He however applied the week I entered canada and was granted. I think it depends on you being able to prove you will leave Canada at the end of your studies. Try this other threat you may get better advice there https://www.nairaland.com/2035081/travelling-canada-part-7 Best of luck. Canada is a beautiful place pes08: 1 Like |

Hi guys, I am ready to build my EE profile but I have a previous employer who has stated they will 'never' give me reference because I didn't resign properly. It accounts for 3 years of my 9 years work experience. Do I leave it out completely? Please advice |

His current visa is valid for the duration of his passport. For OWP, off the top of my head, it's proof of marriage, funds, medical and home ties I believe. |
