Boss, I changed the ECT sensor and all became normal. The engine does not do the humming sound, does not take time to switch to gear 4, the temperature guage works fine and no surge. The advise most times is to replace the same quantity you drained. But you can know the guage by checking when car is hot after about 5-10mins of starting the car. The oil will be at the hot mark of the dip stick

Good morning all.
My camry 2008 temperature guage fluctuates and at times stays on zero and I experience engine surge while driving and even on idle.
NB: my fan is working, my radiator is not leaking and water doesn't drain out. I don't top water in the morning. The water is always OK.

Secondly, my gear doesn't enter gear 4 from 3 easily. It only enters when I need to rev the engine to high rpm. It makes humming noise on gear 3 after a short movement.

I did the scanning and only got error code p0118 and p0125. I asked if there is any code concerning gear, the technician said no. Just those two codes.

Please, what could be the issue. Someone adviced I change the speed sensor if my gear oil is guaged and not dirty. Nb: The gear oil filter has been changed as well and no changes yet.

For 2016 model, your car recommends 0W20 but for 2007 model, it requires 5W30 all fully synthetic. Mobil 1 is good, Valvoline is good, Castrol is good. But ensure you get your oils from reputable sources.

Check if the fan is spinning fast enough, or if both fans comes on (if your car uses twin fan system), check for air flow direction when fan is spinning, check if your radiator is dirty or clogged.
