I'd advise you rebuild that engine with good parts if you have a trusted mechanic. Most 2AZ engines in ladipo and most parts markets are rebuilt, refurbished, or 1AZ repackaged as 2AZ engines.
Only buy a Japan variant 2AZ engine from a trusted seller and trust me, finding that trusted seller is not an easy task.

Can those mechanics be trusted when it comes to rebuilding? My issue is trusted mechanic.

How long ago was the repair completed. If you've not driven the car much after the repair, the car is relearning idle so let us know your idle rpm first.

If the symptoms still persist after driving the car very well, you'll have to do a compression test to be sure your mechanic did that repair properly.
