PoliticsRe: Chimamanda Adichie's Article On The Oba Of Lagos Saga by Jokay07(m): 6:19am On Apr 11, 2015
Ymodulus:
I think I will start by trying to be Anthropomorphic, as it will bet express my heading.
Its really sad when insanity realizes that he has a mental disorder then he is as good as cured. The moment a people come to terms with their complex problem which often place them at loggerheads with their host communities the better for them.

I seem not to fathom how a tribe claim to have suffered humiliations and deprivation from other ethnic nationalities. This allegation should be consider very weighty even though it was not substantiated. Nonetheless, this aggrieved ethnic nationality needs to ask herself what is about it that could be responsible for the purported hostile acts of other ethnic nationalities toward it.

One problem I have with Chimanda is all her articles tends to quote Chinua Achebe, even when its evident chinua actions are wrong. The sane mistake she made, about his book "there was a country". Now she is trying to say that the Igbo's were murdered in early 1960's for political reasons? Who started the war? Was it the Nigerian Arny or The late Ojukwu ? I see Chimabda is biased. And she is just a staunt re-echoer of Chinua Achebe's belief.

I liked the fact that she related the massacre of the Ibos in different parts of the country before the civil war. However what I do like to ask her is this,

1. chimanda was there nothing that led to the massacre?

You can't deny that the tendency to dominate in another man's land which is being exhibited now by taking the Oba to court is what led to such. Tell me when you come back from court if the people of Lagos will still have a good relationship with the Ibos.

Chimanda while trying to play a neutral ground at the surface, is been biased deep down. I am sorry to say but if Chimanda spent her time writing this, she wasted that time. As this just further lowered NY respect for her as an internationally recognised writer. Novel is her thing not politics.

Just imagine how shez is spreading lies about 1960s massacre. Posterity Judge you.

well said brother, but against my statement, igbos are relevant when it comes to lagos's election but my point is, but Jimi and Ambode just want to use igbos as a stepping board, non has igbos's agenda
PoliticsRe: Alleged Anti-Igbo Comment: What Oba Akiolu Really Said — Palace by Jokay07(m): 4:31pm On Apr 06, 2015
Who will be so stupid to vote for Apc on saturday? Yes what the king did is uncivilised and wrong but basically, Apc has the upper hand of winning the election and even if Apc or Pdp win, non will be so stupid to ignore his tribe, both of them are yorubas so any igbo's agenda will secondary and Both Apc and Pdp only need igbos' votes to win the election so it's not as if Jimi Agbaje or Ambode has a special package for the Igbo,What I could deduce here is that both party just want to use igbo people's votes as a stepping board but believe you me, they [igbos] are already falling for it, none of those two jerks has a special package for igbos but they understand the fact that nobody can smell that seat without igbo's support. Quote me after the election, Apc will win, they have the state resources and you guys will later see why I said they only want to use igbos as a stepping board. Igbos need to start feeding Apga, it's only an igbo man that can have igbos' agenda as a primary assignment in lagos. Go and write it down, Neither Jimi nor Ambode has any special package for igbos, they are both democratic thieves but in politics, igbos always miscalculate and they will miscaculate this time again.

Alphaoscar:
Seriously the Igbos should not allow themselves to be used as a political tool in the hand of the politicians.

Will Agbaje abandon his Yoruba heritage or even the Oba of Lagos in solidarity with his Igbo supporters should in case he defeat Ambode? I can't see that happening because instead he will rather settle his differences with the monarch while the Igbo populations will be left to lick their wounds.

The Igbos should play their politics with decorium without been seen as antagonizing their host communities or putting themselves in an unfriendly position with the other inhabitants of Lagos.

Let the drummers of war becareful.
this statement is not only the most sensible but the best so far.

PoliticsRe: Sw Criticizing Se & Ss For Voting Gej by Jokay07(m): 7:08am On Apr 04, 2015
It's clear that you and your people are politically naive. You people analyse politics like someone who has been in the wilderness for so long. Immediately after the election, so many threads have been opened by some people, critisizing the SW people for voting massively for Gej, many are even saying that the SW people betrayed them, I have read a thread which says ''the Ijaws and the Igbos have vowed with blood never to support the Yorubas'' and so on . I have never seen a thread by any SW Nairalander castigating the Igbos for supporting Gej, this why your people have remained politically irrelevant in terms of presidential election. None of your people can smell that presidential seat if you don't form alliance with either the North or the west but due to hatred, pride, wound of civil war and ignorance, you have seen it as a taboo to form an alliance. For the fear of the unknown, you have seen the SW people as your greatest political enemy, go and jot it down, SE region is still 60years behind Sw region in terms of politics, to show how political naive you are, Sw is a battle ground between PDP and Apc, I hope you have seen the close margin between the votes they all casted but saying that Gmb won the election without the support of Sw shows the depth of ignorance. SW voted for Jonathan in 2011 and he was voted out again by them. If you don't know, either Hausa, igbo or ijaw can win any presidential election without the help of the Sw. Do your research very well before you open any thread, leave the yorubas out of the sphere of your politics. Gmb did not get up to 1 million votes from both S/s and S/e yet he won the election and Gmb won 5 out of 6 states in Sw yet you are so blind to see all these only for you to say that Sw are irrelevant to Gmb's Success. We don't care about your people, leave the Sw people alone!!!!
PoliticsRe: Can The SW Ascend The Presidency Without The SS/SE by Jokay07(m): 9:47pm On Apr 03, 2015
chukwudi44:
Let's assume Buhari finishes his Tenure and the APC presents Osibanjo or any other person from the SW and PDP presents a northern candidate, will the northerners vote for the APC? Can such a SW candidate make it without votes from the SE/SS?
your assumption is simply illogical. Firstly in terms of population, the northern's population is higher than any other region and the Apc won't make the mistake of pairing two Westeners, secondly the Southerners will see it as an opportunity to strike back or revenge the westerners thereby suppporting a Pdp Northerner's candidate. As long as the pairing of S/W and North could produce victory, then anything is possible even if a northerner will be vice president, it worked for Obasanjo and Atiku and it also worked for Buhari and Osinbanjo, such trend of combination in our political landscape shows that election can be won without ''much'' support from the southerners as long as you can get up to 25% of votes in their states, which means the southerners are politically irrelevant in terms of presidential election. The alliance between the yorubas and the hausas is too strong for any Southerners to disrupt. The igbos and the ijaws need to start forming alliance with the Hausas if at all they want to be relevant in terms of presidential race or face the consequences of isolation. This is simple fact that many refuse to understand, the population is not balanced, any tribe needs their votes to succed. APC are now at the realm of power and they won't make any mistake of losing it. It's easier to win election in Nigeria with Hausa + yoruba combination than Hausa/yoruba + igbo/ijaw combination. Apc will rather present hausa yoruba presidential race than any other thing. As long as my fellow brothers continue to see hausa and yoruba as their enemy, the presidential seat will be very far from them. The truth is bitter, nobody hates or give a hoot about you guys, but you just need the help of your enemies [hausas and yorubas] to win any presidential election in nigeria.

The clear thing is that we majority of the Ndigbos don't want buhari and nothing can change that.....very soon biafra will get their independent. So all those people chanting "we embraced change" should keep their mouth shut. Ndigbo does not have a one man government period.

Yorubas and hausas and some foolish igbo who don't know their left from their right should go on and insult me...i dont care..
igbos are the enemy of themselves. Chest beating, arrogance, lies and hatred have blocked their sense of belonging thereby making them to think that one tribe is against them. Yorubas have so many problems to solve in their region than to start wasting their time hating igbos. I never new that there's an hatred between igbos, hausas and yorubas until I joined Nairaland. The westerners are too busy to notice any hatred from any tribe so if you want to isolate, pack your people from North and west and stand alone. Your people dnt want Buhari and you voted against him, simple!!!. The yorubas want Buhari and they voted for him, Simple!!! Only for me to see how some demoralised fellows are opening threads insulting the yorubas. There are so many problems we are facing in the s/w which is very important than hating your people. Nobody wl go into extinction if we break so stop making fuss of it. grin grin

PoliticsRe: Slowly The Whole Igbo Nation Is Rejecting Nigeria by Jokay07(m): 11:20pm On Apr 02, 2015
I don't like commenting on any thread that revolves round igbo people because if you tell them the truth, they will insult you., call you Aboki or ofe mmanu or whatever because your opinion doesn't align with theirs, these people see the Hausas and the yorubas as their greatest enemy but they can't do without them and we (hausas & yorubas) can't do without them. I am a member of ''GOODLUCK ONLINE GROUP'' which is dominated by Igbo people on facebook maybe I am the only yoruba there, you need to see what my igbo brothers are commenting after the Buhari was declared the winner, they were saying we form alliance with Hausas/Yorubas to Vote Jonathan out, some were calling for separation from Nigeria. They have forgetten that the same yoruba race rejected Buhari and Pastor Tunde Bakare in 2011 and we voted massively for Jonathan. They are busy supporting Jonathan on social media while the electorates are out there collecting pvcs to vote, they are busy form T.A.N while most of the T.A.N members are without Pvc. I don't even know that there's an enmity between Igbos and Yorubas until I join Nairaland last year which is to show that many yorubas doesn't even know about the hatred. Come to think of it, Gej would have won the election had it been that he got enough votes from from the igbos. Go and sum up the votes gotten from Ebonyi, Enugu, Abia and Anambra and Imo and compare it with the vote GMB got from Kano, Jigawa, Sokoto, kastina, yes population differs which is an excuse some might want to present but we can't shy away from the fact that igbos didn't try in terms of number of votes they deliver for GEJ. Buhari didn't get up to one million votes from S/S and S/E and he won. The votes Gej got from Jigawa or Gombe is more than what he received from Abia and Imo state even though Abia state Governor is another case study. How many states in S/S and S/E deliver up to 1 million votes For GEJ apart from Delta and Rivers( I might be wrong). Buhari didn't win election because the yorubas supported him alone. Igbos are the enemy of themselves and not Hausas or Yorubas. Yes I know that many of them would still insult me and I'm expecting some insults for this comment made.. I sign my name..... JOKAY
