Jobs/Vacancies / Re: FAAN Shortlisted Candidates For Interview And Physical Fitness- Bothering Issues by Jokems(m): 8:50am On Mar 16, 2015
I eventually called the FAAN recruiters and was told that the list for interview was based on stated quota. Each State has a defined number of ppl to be invited for interview and it varies. For instance, only one candidate from Kogi State was expected to partake in the interview for PDMO. Hence, they have to get the highest scorer from the State. It seemed sensible anyway but I think quota should only come after the interview stage when they are ready to select the best on the basis of Federal Character. What if those invited for the interview failed other criteria later? Why introduce a new rule at the middle of the game? All we were told is that 50% is the pass mark and hence those who score 50% and above should have been allowed to flex muscle in the next stage until the best are taken.

I applied for PDMO, wrote the online test and scored 65%. My system reported me as been successful. Lo and behold, my name was not on the list released for interview. I met all the outlined criteria. Can someone help with other criteria used to list candidates for interview apart from passing the test?

Politics / Re: South Africa Request Nigerian Teachers by Jokems(m): 11:58am On Nov 30, 2009
Plssssss can somebody tell us the likely amount the teachers going to South Africa will be paid? grin

We must have a re-think on this topic. many qualified teachers have been roaming the streets of our cities seeking for job in vain. If govt cant employ these teachers for reasons best known to them and they find solace in South Africa, then let them go. An average teacher in Nigeria today earns about N20,000 monthly or N240,000 annually.while in south Africa the figure is tall. These proposed teachers will plough back their hard currency into our economy starting with their poor family members and then I and you. Let them go. as soon as Nigeria is able to pay her teachers better than South Africa they will come back home as better professionals and we'll be better for it.Ghanaians are leaving Nigeria today cos its better off in their homeland now than Nigeria.Over 30,000 teachers are churned out of our schools annually and not even 5% are employed.
Programming / Re: Should A Programmer Marry A Programmer? by Jokems(m): 4:57pm On Aug 15, 2008
Javalove, since u ve made up ur mind, there should b no reason 2 seek the view of ppl in da house anymore lipsrsealed.Well, 4 concerned comrades in da house; personally, if am a programmer, i wont marry a programmer cos we will only have a house but no home. Since bird of a feather flocks 2gether, i think Javalove will enjoy his futue kind of home, a home where no body is psychologically and emotionally there for the other. Well, since both are alike , they wont bother about the outlook of their home.I weep 4 d unlucky children that will eventually be borne into d home (if ever they will even care to freak n conceive) COS THEY WONT ENJOY THE AFFECTION AND WARM COMPANY OF THEIR PARENT. cry

Career / Re: Zenith Bank New Salary Package by Jokems(m): 12:30pm On Aug 12, 2008
I agree wt ehiwere's view.many ppl work n earn even less than 10k n they are not contemplating on committing suicide yet and its not as if u're better off.

u may b opportuned 2 earn what u're earning now, so thank God 4 that n work hard 2 develop ursef 4 greater opportunities. afterall how many of u can ur output in ur company justify the pay u're longing for?

d amount u earn monthly is not what determines ur financial wellbeing but it is how well u judiciously manage ur earnings. u may b earning 500k monthly n gamble or "club" away everything even b4 d arrival of next pay.in such situation, u're worse than he who earns 50k n is able to save say 10k monthly.
CHEEEERSSS cool
