We buy Huawei OSN 3500 in local, and now we need to test the SDI service, below is the steps, hope it can helpful for you. 1, Connect the cables to the equipment as pictures attached. 2, Set the service type on a video generator. 3, Set the eye diagram, image, BER, and jitter on a video analyzer. 4, Before the test, set the BER window to 0. Observe the video analyzer to check whether the service is available. 5, If the service is unavailable, configure a loopback from the local cross-connect board to the opposite VST4 board and a loopback from the opposite cross-connect board to the local VST4 board. Perform a test section by section to locate the fault.

There are two types: 1, Automatic switching Huawei STG/XCH/UXCM detects its own status through hardware or software. If it is in the abnormal status, a switching is performed automatically. The switching is performed by the board and no manual operation is required. The following conditions trigger automatic switching: A hardware fault occurs on the STG/XCH/UXCM board. The STG/XCH/UXCM board goes offline when, for example, it is removed or undergoes a cold reset. Switching occurs between the active and standby cross-connect boards in an OptiX OSN 8800 T64/T32 subrack. 2,Manual switching When a switching is required in a test during the normal running of the active and the standby STG/UXCMs/XCH board, the switching can be performed manually. |
Currently, HG824x series Huawei GPON ONT supports the following types of routes: Policy route: The egress of packets is determined based on the ingress, source IP address, and IPTOS of the packets. Currently, the ONT supports the ingress- and source IP address-based policy routes. These routes can be configured by using the NMS or web page. The ingress-based policy route can be used for the Internet access service. The route can be configured by binding the WAN port to the LAN port of the ONT. After the Layer 3 LAN port is bound to a WAN port, all packets that are routed into the ONT through this LAN port are routed out of the ONT through the WAN port that is bound to the LAN port. The source IP address-based policy route is used for the voice service and TR-069 service by default. After the voice WAN port and TR-069 WAN port obtain the IP address, the source IP address-based policy route is automatically configured on the ONT. If the source IP address in a packet is the IP address of the voice WAN port, the packet is forwarded to this WAN port. If the source IP address in a packet is the IP address of the TR-069 WAN port, the packet is forwarded to this WAN port. Static route: The network administrator manually configures the routing information by using the NMS or web page. The WAN port of the ONT on the route is specified based on the source IP address of packets. Default route: After the ONT fails to find a policy route or static route after receiving packets, the ONT forwards the packets through the WAN port specified by the default route. The default route can be configured by using the NMS or web page. After buy Huawei HG8245Q2 HG824x series ONT, it always selects a route with a higher preference. Among the three types of routes, the preference of the policy route is the highest and the preference of the default route is the lowest. |

When you are use Huawei NG-OLT MA5800 X15, this Fault Locating Guide might be useful for you. If a user fails to access the Internet in FTTB or FTTC networks: If the user uses a static IP address, check whether the IP address of the PC is correct; if the user uses a dynamic IP address, check whether the user's PC can normally obtain an IP address. To query the IP address of the PC for a Windows user, do as follows: Choose Start > Run on the task bar of the PC. Enter the cmd command in the Run dialog box, and then press Enter. In the displayed CLI, enter the ipconfig command to query the IP address of the PC. User's PC Fails to Obtain an IP Address When a user's PC fails to obtain an IP address: For a PPPoE user, see IP Address Fails to Be Obtained Through PPPoE Dialup. For a DHCP user, see IP Address Fails to Be Obtained Through DHCP Dialup.

Why Only Two Optical Interfaces Are Displayed After a Front Card Is Installed on an S5700? The reason is that no extended rear card is installed on the S5700. An http://www.thunder-link.com/S5700-SWITCH_c136.html Huawei S5700-EI or S5700-SI can provide only two optical interfaces for a front card. If a 4-port front card is installed, an ETPB extended rear card must be installed to provide the other two ports. Otherwise, only two optical interfaces are displayed. |
Issue Description Q: Current system has a very limited hard disk space. We have observed that in /var/adm there is a huge file called wtmpx. What is this file? It is safe to delete it or compress it in order to free hard disk space? Alarm Information Null Handling Process A: The wtmpx file is used to determine the history of user logins and reboots. If you login, and logout very frequently, in a few months that file can grow to occupy a lot of space. Its safe to delete it, even if you might lose the data mentioned above. You can of course rotate and compress it, that way you will save diskspace and keep the data, in case that is necessary: cp /var/adm/wtmpx /var/adm/wtmpx.old cp /dev/null /var/adm/wtmpx gzip /var/adm/wtmpx.old In that way you can save a lot of space, depending on your system. If you dont need the data, you can just delete it instead of compressing the file. There is no harm to the system. Customer complains that the GPBD board is only activated after the old GPBC board to be replaced and deleted (board delete), however to do so it is necessary to remove all the configurations related to GPBC board, like ONTs configuration, service-ports, and then re- create all these configurations on the GPBD board. According to customer, this procedure is very difficult and not viable, demanding a lot of work. Software Version: MA5600V800R007C00 SPC300 SPH305; HP3008 Null Null |

Fault symptom: When an upstream board is used to transmit upstream services, upstream services become unavailable after the control board is replaced. Cause: The upstream board is not compatible with the new control board. Solution: Replace the upstream board with a new one that is compatible with the new control board and provides functions of the old upstream board. Note: The configuration file of the upstream board may need to be updated after the replacement. If it is updated, activate the new configuration file and then upstream services are available. |
When a fault occurs in the system, it is usually accompanied by a large number of alarms and abnormal performance events. By analyzing this information, you can approximate the type and location of the fault. To review the alarms and performance events, do as follows: Query the current or historical alarms and performance events on the U2000. Review the running status or the severities of the alarms using the indicators on the open rack and the boards. The U2000 fault isolation capabilities can be affected by system faults, and are classified as follows: Comprehensive: You are able to obtain fault information for the entire network. Accurate: You are able to obtain the current alarms, alarm generation time, and historical alarms of the equipment. In addition, you are able to obtain the specific values of the performance events. Complex: In some cases, a significantly high number of alarms and performance events can make analysis very difficult. Dependent: Fault isolation is entirely dependent on the normal operations of the computer, software, and communication equipment. If any of these are faulty, fault isolation capabilities may be limited or entirely lost. NOTICE Before querying the performance data on the U2000, enable performance monitoring on the U2000. Otherwise, the performance data will not be reported to the U2000. Before querying the alarm or performance data on the U2000, ensure that the running time of each NE is correctly set. Otherwise, the alarm and performance data will be incorrect or not reported to the U2000. During maintenance, after re-issuing the configuration to a NE, set the NE time to the current time. Otherwise, the NE will operate at the incorrect default time. The generation, detection, and transmission of an alarm varies with the OTU type and the type of signals that the OTU receives. Alarm signal flow analysis allows you to quickly determine where the fault is occurring.
