Some people suspected to be gunmen on Sunday, sSome people suspected to be gunmen on Sunday, shot dead a policeman and a civilian near Assemblies of God Church, Oguta Road Onitsha, Anambra.
A witness said the gunmen had stopped near the Church, adding that on sighting some policemen at the church, they opened fire on them.

The source also said the attackers made away with the rifle of the slain policeman.

“When the firing became too hot, the policemen abandoned their patrol vehicle and ran away for safety.

“The gunmen moved to their patrol van and took a gun belonging to the policeman they killed,” he said.
The witness said he could not identify the number of armed men involved.

Another witness said, “Gunmen on Okada (motorcycle) shot a policeman and collected his rifle.

They also shot dead an Okada man while escaping and the passenger he was carrying was injured.
The policeman was the one armed among his colleagues; they were providing security while church service was going on at Assemblies of God Church, Oguta road Onitsha.

Reacting to the incident, Garba Umar Commissioner of Police in Anambra confirmed the incident to journalists.
Mr. Umar said it was not an attack on the church, adding that the gunmen took away a rifle belonging to the slain cop.

“My men were on patrol near the church when they were attacked by some gunmen. ‘’It was not an attack on the church in the real sense of it, “he said.
Unknown gunmen on August 6 attacked worshipers at St. Philips Catholic Church, Ozubulu, Ekwusigo council in Anambra, killing no fewer than 13 persons and injuring 27.

A Federal Government delegation,led by Minister of Labour and Productivity, Chris Ngige, had on August 12 visited Anambra to condole the people and government of the state as well as the Catholic Diocese of Nnewi over the incident.

let me be honest with you mam these things are as a result of our values and mentality, am an igbo man so i would use my tribe as an example, as an igbo man here if you are not successful then you are not yet to be regarded as a man, we beleive in our men hitting it big and showing off their wealth no matter the cost, so long the end justifies the means, dyas are gone when you are respected in the society for who you, what you have contributed towards the development of the society, our men beleive that traveling abroad and getting married to foreigners will pave way for them to grab soo many benefits, and in turn get rich quick, come home get married to a girl here, impregnate her, keep her here and and travel back to his foreign wife......sometimes i dont know whom to blame, the high rate of poverty in our country, our social system, the foolish girls and their families that are after the guys money and the fact that he lives abroad, or our leaders that has made this country an unbearable place to live in?


however in as much as there are high number of nigerian men that do this in order to please their families, get rich quick, get citizenships there are many who are good men and end up with foreign women and are happily married to them also there is this fear about foreign women that causes panic to the guys families, stories like what will happen to the kids when the guy dies, will they ever visit africa or even recognize the fact that nigeria is their home....so you see there are certain reasons why certain decisions are taken by the nigerian men.

Bahuri
The coach convinced the team's supporters that Morgan Bahuri is the only striker that could help the football team to victory. Coach stated;
"Bahuri can score a goal from the centre half, he uses both leg and he's very swift like El Nino, the ocean's natural phenomenon. He's simply unstoppable."

The spectators paid extra gate fees just because they wanted to see Bahuri demolish his opponent.
"Bahuri is the surest and a saviour." The supporters assured themselves.

It's show time, Bahuri with his teammates entered the field of play gallantly like a mosquito that is attracted by Carbondioxide gas.
And then the match began. The opponent appeared to have a solid defense, but with Bahuri, everybody expected humiliation.

Few minutes into the play, Bahuri complained to the Referee that the opponent's defenders' muscles were rock solid. So the referee ordered that they should be substituted with measly defenders. Impossibility is nothing, so these defenders were removed.

However, Bahuri kept on shooting off target.
He told his coach that his midfielders were not cooperating, and he would like his trusted men be brought in; and it was done. Bahuri was fond of playing offsides, and even when he's allowed, he won't score.

First half ended. The striker couldn't score a goal, everything remained the same. And because of him, the goal post was shifted, and then later expanded; yet Buhari kept on shooting far off target like an impotent playboy. This striker blamed his supporters, he called them distractors that would not keep quiet for him to concentrate.

The referee awarded Bahuri's team a penalty. Bahuri the main striker stepped forward for the kick, behold, he calmly sent the ball up above the goalpost into the air. The biased referee unbelievably issued a red card to the goalkeeper without any prior warning. The opponent's team became goalkeeper-less. Still Bahuri kept on shooting off target.

Bahuri team supporters became unbelievably dazed.
They became confused like the fictitious people of the Tower of Babel.


So, it's a goal...oh no, it's side netting.
