The request was first directed to the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy, and later to the Ministry of Information and Culture, headed by Lai Mohammed. The group says individuals or companies that refuse to comply with the ban should be fined. The Arewa Youth Consultative Council (AYCC) has asked the Federal Government to block 'sexual and immorally-related' websites from the Nigerian cyberspace. In a statement signed by the group's spokesperson, Muhammad Ibrahim, on Friday, August 14, 2020, AYCC said it is concerned by the exposure of Nigerian youths to 'sexual contamination'. The group said the exposure of Nigerian youths to sexual content is fueling a culture of indecency, immorality and increasing cases of sexual misbehaviours. AYCC, in the letter addressed to the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami, called on the government to enforce a strict monitoring policy that will remove pornographic content. "We resolved to write to you as concerned citizens to call on your quick intervention in blocking sexual and immorality related sites in the Nigerian cyberspace to sanitise the reckless behaviour and continuous immoral engagements among youths for sustainable development and progress of our societies," the statement read. AYCC also said the government should 'force' service providers to protect Nigerians from content involving violence and terrorism. The youth group noted that the censure will prevent future catastrophe that will erase the possibility of a lost society. The group suggested that individuals or companies that refuse to comply with the censure should be fined millions and billions of naira, respectively. In his response on his Twitter account, Pantami said the group should redirect the request instead to the Ministry of Information and Culture, headed by Lai Mohammed. https://twitter.com/PulseNigeria247/status/1294259427227377664?s=19

EU if you know you know |
COVID-19 is doing that already but on a more serious note, we should also be weary of this new generation because, they have learnt a lot of appalling things and megalomania from the older folks. Don't think the youths, once they are voted in will usher in a Utopia that is filled with milk and honey. |
Kano and bad news are like.....? |
And why's nobody pushed for bubu's resignation on the grounds of incompetence |
Damn nigar making us proud |
It's now obvious to all and sundry that this man is the true definition of incompetence. What has Mauma Daura got to say about this? |

BENUE State Governor, Samuel Ortom, on Thursday warned the Miyett Allah Kautal Hore not to come to Benue State for its plan to establish a security outfit called ‘Miyetti Allah Vigilante.’ Ortom was reacting to the statement credited to the Fulani socio-cultural association, Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, in which it announced the establishment of its security outfit to operate nationwide. The governor in the statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Terver Akase, said that in as much as he did not have any problem with Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore floating a security outfit in other states, he warned that “such a vigilante group will not operate in Benue State.” Ortom stressed that Miyetti Allah had no constitutional right to establish a nationwide security outfit. He said that his state was already working with conventional security forces and had already established a vigilante group at the state, local government and ward levels. “This is evident in the ongoing recruitment of personnel for community policing who will soon be trained as recommended by the Inspector-General of Police. “The idea of running a nationwide vigilante group is a mere strategy by the Fulani socio-cultural organisation to elevate their nefarious and inhuman activities to another level. “We once more call for the arrest and prosecution of officials of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, to end the spate of crime in the country. “We urge the Federal Government to stop looking elsewhere for bandits who have been killing innocent Nigerians. Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore are coordinators of banditry in the country, and officials of the group reside in Abuja,” the statement read in parts. https://twitter.com/MobilePunch/status/1289313809190907904?s=19

fykes:That law is obtainable only in southern states, doesn't apply in most northern states. Age of consent in the north is 14yrs that's why you have so many child marriages up north. Same country different laws. |
Evaromantik:She's 15 and not up to the age of consent So any form of sexual relation with a minor is considered rape. Do you gerrit? |

And then someone would tell me God doesn't exist. Since humans refused to arraign him in any law court, God has decided to do so himself. |
Edet Okon Asim, Special Adviser on Biodiversity to Governor Benedict Ayade of Cross River State, is dead. Asim died on Tuesday, July 22, 2019, after he slumped and died in his car at Eta Agbor in Calabar. Two years ago, he was arrested for raping a 15-year-old girl in the state many times. It was gathered that Asim allegedly forced the girl to abort three pregnancies. Her uterus reportedly got damaged while carrying out a third abortion. A report by CrossRiverWatch also revealed that the girl's mother was aware and consented to the illegal relationship between Asim and her daughter because of monetary benefits she was getting from Asim. Although the then-Attorney General of the State, Mr Joe Abang, okayed the trial of Asim and two other suspects, they were never arraigned in any court in the state. "I have since approved the trial of Edet Okon Asim and two of the other suspects. "Our resolve to ascribe probative value to the allegations of the victim that the 1st and 4th suspects sexually molested her and got her pregnant on different occasions is primarily premised on the fact that this is the statement of a witness who is narrating first hand what happened to her. "We are convinced that the victim could not have singled out the suspects for these serious allegations, especially considering the special relationship she had with the first suspect. She is, in our opinion, a witness of truth," Abang said in 2019. It was gathered that Asim, with the backing of Governor Ayade, successfully buried the case. Ayade reappointed Asim in January 2020 as a Special Adviser on Forestry & Biodiversity.[/quote]http://saharareporters.com/2020/07/30/governor-ben-ayades-aide-accused-raping-15-year-old-slumps-dies-his-car

The end of Fulani republic of Nigerhiya is here. What effontery? |
ifko:And a jihadist too |
Matrimonous:There was no mistake anywhere everything has been carefully premeditated. Remember buhari once said a killing of Boko Haram members is a killing to the north. It's all the Fulani jihadist agenda of 2003. |
We know Mamman Daura rules the country directly and indirectly. He should please keep mute let's think of how to move the country forward come 2023 from his jihadist government. He is in no place to talk about competence. |
ednut1:And how competent is your Lord zoohari |
Emmacolinho:The said students are under the NDDC scholarship scheme. |
The Chairman, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has appealed to the Niger Delta Development Commission to pay the allowances, tuition and other incentives of students on its scholarship scheme in the United Kingdom. She said the students had turned beggars following the non-payment of their tuition and allowances by the NDDC. Some of the affected students had complained that they had been suspended by their schools for non-payment of tuition and other fees. But Dabiri-Erewa in a statement on Tuesday by Mr Gabriel Odu of the NiDCOM Media, Public Relations and Protocol Unit, referred to a letter written to the Minister of the Niger Delta, Sen. Godswill Akpabio, dated June 18, 2020, drawing attention to the plight of the students, and urging the NDDC to pay them. The statement read, “At the moment, there have been persistent calls by the students for urgent intervention. “While the deadline for payment of the fees of some of the students has expired or about to expire, non-payment of their allowances has virtually turned many of them to beggars.” https://twitter.com/SaharaReporters/status/1288355403131244544?s=19

The Kaneshie District Court on Tuesday sentenced Isaiah Chima, 31-year-old Nigerian, to six months imprisonment in hard labour for attempting to register in the ongoing Ghana voters’ registration. Chima, a tailor, pleaded guilty to attempt to register as a voter contrary to Section 24 (a) of CI. Election Regulation 1995 and was convicted on his plea. Baba Jamal, his counsel, in pleading for mitigation, told the court, presided over by Madam Rosemond Dodoa Agyiri, that his client was deceived to go to the registration centre. The counsel said Chima’s plea of guilty showed he was remorseful, adding that the court should temper justice with mercy. Baba Jamal also prayed the court for mercy and clemency, Ghanaweb reports. Police Sergeant Apaweh Achana told the court that Mr Kingsley Twum Agyapong, the complainant, is a businessman and a resident at Dansoman-Karikari. In contrast, Chima lived at Dansoman-Dominion, all suburbs of Accra. He said on Monday, July 27, 2020, at about 0930 hours, Chima, together with Pascaline Nyadroh and Joshua Payin, went to the Swag Club House Dansoman Registration Centre to register in the ongoing voters’ registration exercise. The prosecution said Pascaline and Payin filled the guarantor’s form to enable Chima to register, saying during the registration, Chima gave his name as Kofi Isaiah. Sergeant Achana said in the course of answering questions, the registration officer became suspicious of Chima’s accent. When the guarantors were confronted, they rushed to their car and drove off, leaving Chima. He was then arrested. After that, he admitted the offence in his caution statement in the presence of an independent witness. Sergeant Achana said Chima told the police that he was from Abia State in Nigeria and that it was Pascaline and Payin that asked him to go and register. https://twitter.com/SaharaReporters/status/1288355385829662720?s=19
