okoroemeka:
hmm,700 germinated seedlings from a 50 gram can, average 10,000 seeds, that is a disaster, many things can cause that,1,we use soil that has been strelized by burning firewood on top this eliminates all soil parasites,2 covering seeds with a thick layer of soil makes it difficult for young crops to come out,3 over watering,a nursery tray topsoil will be dry before any watering,4 hot pepper seed need to be soaked in water overnight to speed the germination process, because the more a seed stays in soil many will rot

THANKS. I will take note and make amendments

HELP O !!!

I transplanted few of my pepper yesterday evening around 6pm, but to my suprise all dir leaves are lying on the floor (and gradualy geting dry).
Although the transplanting was not done in the rain, dir was heavy down pour on sunday which made the ground still kinda soacked with water. Also the intensity of sun today was mild.

Please how do I save my pepper from dying and also prevent such occurence in the future.

thanks

A big thank you to the OP and every other contributor, its been educative and an atticle worth the time.

please I need ur view on the profitability and acceptability of 'big sun' variety of pepper in the market (presently nursing). I will appriciate if anyone can give the expected number of bags (50kg) one will harvest from 500 plants every 4 days and the present market price

Secondly can one nurse anytime of the year or only at specific periods

Thirdly how often do I need to wet my nursery before germination and after germination

Forthly how long (in years) can avaira F1 variety last provided one irregate in dry seasons

Fifth, those heaping of soil have any special advantage on pepper and what is it if dir be any?

am patiently waiting to learn from everybody.

thanks in anticipation.
