Hahahaha “that Yoruba business may include an Igbo wife” got me laughing hard. Abeg what are Igbo women known for? Igbo women are not industrious so don’t capitalise on that rubbish please

Shikena:
I saw that too and just ignored. One thing that shocked me in America is the toned down nature of the popular linking of Igbos with businesses. Yorubas businesses are more noticeable. Even the Edo ones are prominent in some places. I see the Igbo ones too but not anywhere close to my expectation.

However, keep in mind that the diaspora intermarry a lot. So, that Yoruba business may include an Igbo wife. Fact is fact.

Hello, please can you tell me how to go about the 491 visa do I need to apply for care job first to secure this visa or I get the visa first, find my way into the country and get a care job?

FBS:
1. Accomodation has gone bananas in Australia generally so for a family of 4 expect to cough out at least $AUD500/week depending on the area
2. It seems the 491 visa subclass does provide medicare and public school education - though not sure if childcare is included. Probably not as childcare is ridiculously expensive in Australia.
3. Apply for permanent residence after 3 years from the time your visa is granted - This may be the biggest plus.
4. The Carer thing is booming in Australia right now so finding a job should not be difficult at all.

imo the major challenges would be accomodation and school for the kids also depending on their ages, plus its a temporary visa (5 years). And also the fact that Australia is far from "everywhere" - if you are the type that likes to be around other family members or miss home all the time - better to stay where you are now and build your future.
Interstate travel within Australia is already a "luxury" not to talk of flying home to Naija every holiday. cheesy

Good things - Australia is indeed a beautiful place at least in terms of nature, space, organised system of government - no different from most western countries but certainly not without its issues.

Thank you so much for your reply

Ashirioluwa:
The length of time you plan to spend at your proposed destination is the primary determinant of the cost of travel insurance.

For example, a seven-day Schengen travel insurance policy with AXA Insurance will cost about 4700 naira, a 30-day policy will cost about 6800 naira, and a year policy will cost about 38300 naira.

Note - You can buy your travel insurance from any insurance company of your choice.

Thank you

realmidas:
Okay, so is this a coincidence or do these officials read these threads? Right after my rant, I Got a notification on Friday 19th, and the passport was delivered today. Visa issued by the Italian Embassy.
Docs submitted:
1 Intro Letter stating the purpose for travel including a summary of my proposed itinerary. I ALSO disclosed the fact that I planned to visit Greece and France after Italy. Visiting multiple Schengen countries as part of your vacation really is inconsequential to their decision-making process in my opinion. Be honest folks.
2 Completed form
3 Bank Statement 4 months
4 Company Letters confirming status
5 Insurance Cert (worldwide cover)
6 Hotel Booking(s)
7 Flight Itinerary
8 Photocopies of previous (as far back as 2013) and current visas

I am a frequent traveler to the US, UK, SA, Seychelles, Mauritius, etc.

I don't see why folks rush the French embassy via VFS. The experience at TLS (for me) was superior with little to no delays at the center. But Italians like to take their time so expect a 1-month wait for their decision. Renewing my 10-year UK visa was also a breeze at TLS.

Yes, I’m currently gathering documents I will use to show her ties back home.

I hope to share how the application went sometime in January 2025

Thank you so much. I so much appreciate your feedback.

giselle237:
In all of this you have ignored the most important question the visa officer would be looking for its answers in her application… what is/are her home ties to Nigeria? What would take her back to Nigeria? It’s not about saying refusal is not a death sentence, sometimes we ought to be pragmatic.
Refusal is not a death sentence but it stays on her records and would be used to judge her everytime she applies for a visa to a 1st world nation.
Explore her ties first.. goodluck

Thank you so much for your reply.

Yes, I will do as you have said. I so much appreciate oh

Olumain4:
1) Yes, You have to show enough that you can sponsor her through her time in the UK

2) Put it in letter of explanation that: you intend to extend your visa legally through the PSW program. (attach psw documents to prove it here, if there is any) (what you write in LOE matters here)

3) Yep..book at hotel already, add the proofs to the LOE (if you can book hotel that can refund your money, it would be cool anyways.)

4) you can use council tax as one of proof for the visa application, it would help alot as it would prove that you are living legally in the UK

dont put too much story that is not needed in the LOE.

your sister should have some money in her account too, that could also help.

state your purpose well. say her primary reason for visit is to attend grad, and also she would like to take a look around popular tourist areas (mention two or three).
The purpose matters alot, dont derail. (you can also mention the purpose of visit in your own letter of invitation).

Finally, everything is on God

Hello guys,

I have mentioned here before that I would want to invite my sister for my graduation taking place sometime in January 2025 and I mentioned she is not doing much in Nigeria and I have been told here that she’s likely to get a refusal.

However, I have ponder over it and still want to do the application for her. I have choose to put in the application by December 26th/27th if she gets a refusal she gets a refusal no worries…if luck run into her so be it. Refusal is not a death sentence provided we ain’t using fake documents.

Now I need help to clarify things for me from my end as the sponsor 👏

1) Do I need to show 6months payslips or I just need to show my bank statement showing the total amount of money to cover her expenses?

2) My student visa finishes January 31st 2025 but I plan to apply for PSW by January 25th 2025. My graduation is January 23rd 2025…if I apply for my sister visit visa by 26/27th December 2024 will it fly being that my visa finishes in a month time?

3) My school is in Brighton and Hove while I now live in Cambridge with my boyfriend. I plan to book hotel for my sister in Brighton and Hove…please will this fly?

4) Like I said I live with my boyfriend and the rent is in his name but the council tax I have made objection to be paying since September I relocate here so it’s now in my name and his name. Can I use council tax to show my proof of address? Will this fly?

5) I work with agency so to show proof of employment and proof of income I have plan to show payslip or letter from my agency…please will this fly?

6) Should I send the flight ticket fee for to and fro to my sister’s bank account or I should leave it in my UK account?

7) Aside flight tickets the total money I budget for her expenses here in the UK is £1400 and she will be staying for 9days. Is it fair enough?

P.S: my sister was born mid 1998

I need answers guys👏

God bless you

Thank you so much

@okine4real I have been following this thread recently. Thanks for your contribution so far. It’s been 11yrs since you started can you share information on how your plantation is going? You stand on using your 3m spacing instead of the 9m spacing please let me know how it’s going with you. Will you still use 3m spacing again if you have opportunity to set up another oil palm plantation?

Also I’m from Delta state. Could you please share with me places in delta state or south-south region that I can buy a very cheap land

Thank you for your reply

okine4real:
Yes you are correct. Its these whole calculation that is disrupting mine head.

Am looking at buying 100 plots now of 100 feet by 100 feet per plot. Am looking at planting 10,000 palms.. and i would use 3 meter spacing... i dont need trailers moving in between my plantation. All i want is transfer all mine harvest to either the left or right hand side of the plantation. Once all the palms are there... then mine trailer would load from there.

So am looking at making mine mail money from the 10, 000 palms not the 1,900 palms i have planted.

It actually cost but we know most people only pay deposit and work to pay the balance over here. We need to tell people how it’s and let them make their choice not sounding like it’s a must they have their total tuition together. Thank you

004gist:
This one u de quote people up n down..

Well the figure he put there are actually truth. It cost 45 million to 50 million to actually come to the UK assuming u are paying ur school fees n holding ur POF. 12k school fees plus 10k living expenses =22k pounds which is 48 million.

Then assuming u want to borrow funds to show ukvi for visa as most people does.. Assuming school deposit is 5000 = 11m.
visa = 1.5
Ihs 1 year = 1.7
POF percent = 2m
Flight =1m
Depending on school = deposits on enrolment =?
House rent = u won't leave on the street?

Soo his calculation was right.

So its best to prepare well, have extra funds. Hold fund to do certification courses etc and above chose school that are considerate.

Secondly nobody will charge anybody 19 -20million to run POF say wetin happen na 1billion them put for your account God abeg oh

You spent 45million say because you pay all your tuition from Nigeria Abi wetin abeg break am down for us…how much be deposit and how much is IHS abeg nor let me vex. I follow you dey the UK too hiss

You just land June 2024 and this is October you don dey advice people…na wa oh

Funny enough many of you spreading negativity also read and from this platform and from friends about the struggle abroad but una still put head🤣now una wan advice others not to put head🤣the same prayer you say the struggle nor go be your portion nor suppose still be these new applicants portion na🤣

T for thanks

fullclub:
To get to UK through education cost 45milion minimum if you don't have this full money then it's better you stay back.

If you want to do forged POF it willl cost you anywhere from 19 to 20m or even more. Then the question is how do u raise the remaining funds how will feed alongside house rent .. That's the discussion.

I don't think if u are earning 1m a month u are doing bad... Even 400,000 u aren't doing bad. Then your wife could support with business. Than continueing a journey and being thrown out at the end of the day. The pain of losing that funds I don't think if u wil recover from it
