Thank you so much for explaining to me. Lefty500: There is something called skilled worker visa going rate.
First you need to know what's the occupation code for your targeted job, then go to UK dot gov to check the standard going rate, that is the minimum you must earn to be eligible for sponsorship in the role.
A role might be one that can offer sponsorship but if the offered salary is lower than the standard going rate, then it becomes ineligible for sponsorship. Different role with different standard going rate.
There's a lower going rate for some certain role, also based on the date the COS was issued
For example Data analyst has occupation code of 3544, with standard going rate of £33,200/y and £28,600 for lower going rate. So you must earn equal or above £33,200 to be eligible for sponsorship, but if you got the COS before 4th April 2024,then you go with the lower going rate.
COS gotten before 4th April 2024 => lower going rate After 4th April 2024 => standard going rate.

Good afternoon guys, I would like to know if the annual salary threshold for every job is £38,700
If yes, does it mean one would not be able to get sponsorship from any company including the NHS?
Or does the salary threshold depends on the family size because I have seen quite a few people say they got sponsorship that won’t cover their family
I really do not under…someone should please explain.
Getting a job with annual salary of £38,7000 isn’t easy especially for us with no experience as someone who has no experience working in Nigeria and manage to get experience working in care 20hrs per week while studying.
A lot of people from my set (September 2023) are so confused. After study it’s postgraduate visa, and after postgraduate visa is now to redo another postgraduate degree or further to PhD because the threshold £38,700 is somewhat difficult to achieve?
A Filipino woman told me the threshold of £38,700 is a must on every visa one is switching to even if it’s ILR
Would someone explain what’s going on in this country? I know a lot of people in depression now some even have 3-4 kids.
What’s happening in UK?
Thank you |

Hello, do you mean people own NGO abroad or in Nigeria yea? Wallie: The question for the OP will be, what are good at? Or phrased differently, what are you passionate about? The answer you give will determine the best type of business for you.
I know people that made a lot of money from exporting laptops and cars into Nigeria but it seems the market is really saturated. I also know people with subway franchises, airport shuttle, cleaning companies, mechanic shops, convenience store, coffee shops, dollar stores, shipping companies, NGOs, etc.
Then there are people like me who are into technical stuff. I own a few companies but owning a company is the easy part, making profit is substantially more difficult. People like to talk about the companies they own but how many of them are actually turning a profit?
@2Buff What is the name to your app? I’m also into iPhone apps but have yet to finish the damn thing! All that Objectice C is getting to me; maybe I should just switch to Android but then, I also don’t know Java! Whatever happened to just providing APIs in C/C++? |

UKVI made a mistake in my friend's son visa...instead of putting her name as the main applicant "K Z JOE" they put in "K S JOE"
Can the son fly with this mistake on his visa cos the other kids got the correct name "K Z JOE" on their visas.
What should she do?
Thank you |

Career › Re: Chevening Scholarship Or A N240k Job? by Joyglo: 1:33pm On Feb 04, 2024 |
Do one have to return to Nigeria and stay for two years before applying for PhD or finish and apply for PhD immediately without not relocating back to Nigeria PepsiBoy: I am a Chevening alumnus. Taking the Chevening slot is a lifetime opportunity. Apart from the exposure you will get, you will also have different job opportunities in Nigeria and outside. Moreover, you can also do your PhD when you finish your Masters. While doing PhD, you can lecture and even settle down in the UK academics. Chevening scholarship does open doors, if you know hot to pray, and be led by the Spirit of God. All the best bro. |

It's will be a long ride for me. How do I go about the endorsement? I read where they said one can apply without endorsement if they have award in some listed field. lexybaba1234: Nooooo, you dont need to be a techy. Am not in a tech space, u just have to be highly recognised in your field. If you a have a PhD, it's a plus for you.

Do one have to be in the tech space to be eligible for the global talent visa? lexybaba1234: If you are not selective with jobs. You can also try downloading indeed flex app for Sainsbury's Replenishment Assistant jobs around you. Am a Dr with long years of professional experience as a chemical Scientist/ Process Chemist in Germany. I didnt have a stable job until after 3 months. There is dignity in labour in the uk. It took me about 3 months to get a stable, permanent and professional job in the UK. U will be fine, I understand the frustration, the pressure from people even at home and how stressful it is. Keep pushing.
When you apply always include the length of your visa. Employers doesn't want to hire someone with short visa or someone that need visa sponsorship.
Please note, am using Global Talent work visa, and I don't and will never need visa sponsorship (including my dependent in the UK) however my wife came to the UK before me (on study visa). Am also feeling the heat cos she wasn't allow to switch to my dependent visa except we finish paying all school fees and after she completed her studies. That's why am also affected. The best is yours |

Thanks for your reply. Is TunnelBear VPN for free or I have to pay monthly yea? jamebex: I recently received a message from Binance requesting that I verify my country of residence. They said they noticed that I frequently access Binance from a country that is different from my current declared country of residence. To comply with their instructions and avoid any potential restriction of my account after a specified date, I completed the verification process. Now, as a precaution, I avoid frequent logins. When I do need to log in, I use a VPN to prevent any issues. I use TunnelBear VPN. |

To summarise some key announcements: -those already on a care visa route will be allowed to stay with and bring in dependants. Anyone switching to the care route (both in and out of country )from spring 2024 will not be able to stay with or bring in dependants.
In and out of the country...omo UK dey vex oh.
They want all students and dependent to go through the 2yrs postgraduate visa thing. And looking at it from the other angle since they are considering the 2yrs postgraduate visa for the brightest students then I must say they want people to go to their country after study |

Thank you bro hayesconcept: She should apply for NIN first. Tell her to search for NIN enrollment center in the UK for Google. She will then pay like £40 for NIN enrolment. She should then apply for her passport. The passport might not be ready in January but she can still apply for her visa with the expired passport, passport application form and a cover letter that explains that her passport is not yet ready. Problem solved |
