1500 or 2000ltrs of geepee or storex tanks is suitable for the place,
After mounted the tank finished make sure you tight the tank with marine rope of 10 or 12mm so that the wind will not blow it away

Casting of columns done

That is quite fast. Did you notice reduction in block usage btw dpc n lintel?

I had answered this before. 1f6" dept. D ground was hard.

Just to clarify, the digging of 150 per meter is to what depth?

Not at all, it is just that down here engineers use 5" blocks for bungalows n 6" or 9 for high rise buidings.
I decided to use 6" for external because i will b using casement wit buglar embedded wic will flush well in 6" than 5". I intend to av overhead tank above where d kitchen is.

2. Skilld n unskilled labour + water= N23000
3. Form work+casting of basket for overhead tanks=N23000
Cements used11bags
4.block to dpc, 200 blocks per 3mason+labour=N30000+supervision(3000).


Note: N50 per block here. N30 for masonn N20 for labour.
Minimum of hundred blocks for a mason
Granite n sand has to b provided

36bags of cement for block moulding, 3 trips of sand@15000, labour N500 per bag for moulding+ water[

6" blocks, i used 6" for external walls n wher i will place d overhead tank.
5" for internal partitions.
After dpc level, i will use hollow 6" n normal solid 5" for internal partitions

you have casted the Foundation footings using a reinforcement of 80cm by 80cm and you have started raising the four columns with a 16mm reinforcement. I can deduce all this from your post.

To answer your question.
Please for your Column use 225mm by 225mm and for the beam that will carry your slab, kindly use 450 by 225.

It is strictly recommend you Damp proof your Walls and Slabs especially if it will carry a water tank in your own case

Space is the constraint here, 2000litre tank is to be placed there for domestic use. What should be the dimensions of the coulumns?

Dimension of basket formed n casted= 80cm x 80cm
Coulumn re-enforcement= 16mm rods formed to flush with 6" blocks used.
Please masters, is there anything i should be worried about?

The consensus on here is that stanchion is better in the long run. Embedded tanks like you’re proposing requires great maintenance.
