I wish to volunteer my services in moderating the Health section. I guess it's an honor to be a moderator on Nigeria's foremost site. It must be an interesting and educative role. I spent most of my time at the autos and sports sections. My new found loves are IT, Literature and Health sections. Because of the nature of my job, I am often online either with laptop or blackberry. Am I a doctor? No! |
I have always wondered why most drugs are bitter. Come to think of it, bitter drugs most often induce vomiting. So, why are drugs bitter? Is there a common ingredient that makes all of them bitter? Can we not add sweeteners to drugs and still have them curing sickness? |

Siena:Agreed, Nigerian mechanics take the life out of most cars. But I cant help observing that these frequent break downs affect mostly Honda cars. It is so often that I witness this every day, on my way to work. Most affected are Honda Accord 98-2002 models. |
You are ready for work, you dash into your car, just in time to beat the daily traffic on your way to work. Along the way, the car stutters and grinds to a halt. You open the bonnet and try to troubleshoot with your little knowledge of car mechanics. The day is spoiled for you. You have to find a mechanic to fix your car, you go late for work and spend your hard earned cash fixing one problem or the other. After a while, you cant but notice that a certain make of autos are in the habit of 'parking up'. This is what I have come to notice especially about Honda products. I rarely came across Toyota products that broke down on the road. I ask, why is this common with Honda and Mercedes Benz? Why do they break down often on the road? Do you have a technical explanation of why this is common among certain cars? |

I have seen a lot of Nairalanders writing "R.I.P Bawomolo". Please, who is Bawomolo? |
Which requires a longer period of study? Medicine Which has a stricter and better regulated field? Medicine Which has more dire consequences in the event of mistakes? Medicine Which pays more? IT Which is more fun and more interesting? IT ![]() Medicine is definitely a more difficult course than IT. If the argument is about which pays better, then I will stick to IT. But if you are talking of relevance and requirements, Medicine is a tougher nut to crack. I can pick up a secondary school student and transform such person into an IT guru in less than 2 years. But Medicine? There are no short cuts. You are not a medical doctor till you have gone through 7 years in Nigerian schools. A medical doctor relies on his brain to do MOST of his work . An IT expert relies on a computer to do MOST of the work. |
Thanks for the offer. It has to be Prestige and very clean, Toks preferred but clean Nigerian used version will be considered. I'd prefer to see what's 'on ground', not Cotonou. |
Hello, Have you got a clean 406 prestige (toks or Nigerian used) for sale? Kindly contact me here. Please include pictures Price Contact Phone number Thanks |
realdon:The bold statement sounds reasonable. But again, without giving out information, customers' transactions are visible to whoever cares to see within the banking hall. Without prying at others' transactions, one observes huge cash transactions. What more when I enter the bank with the purpose of identifying 'Big Catch'? Switching off cell phones don't seem to be a solution to privacy/confidentiality of transactions |
"Yea that true most banks do ask people to switch off their mobile phone in bank because, some people normally comes to the bank to withdraw just 2,000 Naira, just to know who is withdrawing big amount of money inside the bank. Then they will send sms to their guys outside the bank to rob the person So that why most banks ask people to switch off their phones for customers safety, I do not switch off mine when i am in my bank because of my familiarity and the weight of my bank account, so do not criticized any bank they are try to protect their customer because any body can be a victim to thief's that only went to the bank to know who is withdraw big amount so that they can attack you on your way and steal your money. In abroad, they do not switch off mobile phone because the security is tight and moreover abroad thief does not concentrate on individual citizens but to government sectors and banks." The above is a genuine attempt to explain why we need to switch off while in the banking hall. Whereas this explanation readily comes to me when I contemplate this issue, it leaves more questions unanswered. 1. If I am forced to switch off so I can't communicate transactions to outside sources, what if I step out of the bank immediately and communicate same? 2. Most phones these days can simply be switched to 'Silent' profile. One can still send SMS to persons outside the banking hall. Problem not solved! 3. GTB gives their customers freedom to operate their phones within the banking hall. Has there been any noticeable 'hits' on GTB customers? 4. Is it possible that a robber can make a call in the bank to say something like "Follow Mr. A and Mr. B, they have got a huge cash with them" ? With so much movement and people within the banking hall, no robber will take the chance of being over heard communicating evil ![]() So, I join the original poster to ask, "Why must we switch off our phones in banking halls?" |
That is simply the forces of demand and supply at play! People go for reputable and reliable products thereby forcing up the price. Ma Toyota est Fantastique! |
Tactically, it was wrong for our girls to have kept attacking after they went 2 goals up within 4 minutes. It was wrong to retain such a dreadful goalkeeper for the entire 120 minutes. The girls gave their best but seem to be heading home. Nig 5- Kor Rep 6 |
9 minutes to go. The Koreans are practically strolling the pitch. But they break with dangerous counter-attacks! They certainly are tactically better these closing stages. There is no breath left in either team ![]() It will be a T&T miracle if we scale through Those long over head balls are not helping us at all |
Nigeria is now playing those annoying long over head balls. Not a bad idea considering they are all exhausted. These girls have given it their best, but for woeful goalkeeping. |
Someone needs to remind the 2 teams it's football, not basket ball )End of 1st Half of E.T. |
Nigeria 5 - Korea Rep 6 Amazing! Dis game is not yet over! |
Nig 4- Korea Rep 6 Nigerian girl's are clearly fatigued. After taking a 2 goal lead within the first 4 minutes, they have crumpled!, And that was so near to goal number 7 for Korea Republic! |
Our Goal Keeper sef! ![]() |
This is what I will call a model advert: -The owner tells you ALL you will get as per vehicle's faults -He tells you EXACTLY what he wants -The pictures are very explicit -The price is very reasonable Happy sales Abiola |
