I doff my cap for your sound logic delivered in simple English!
jayriginal: Listen until this is proven conclusively, it is better to ignore these stories.

I have said it elsewhere on this forum and I will repeat it here. Most people that hold guns are not trained to do so. If you are not trained to fire a gun, then it is easy to miss even as big a target as a human being standing a few feet away from you.

Anyone who has ever visited a firing range or even fired a gun can tell you so. Therefore when an inexperienced marksman points and shoots, he is more likely to miss than not. Add to this the fact that very few people will stand and watch a person take aim at them and fire, then you have the makings of a legend.

It is well known that a moving target is harder to hit (taking into account that even a stationary target is difficult to hit for an amateur) and then you will realise the makings of the legend of "odechi".

In a situation where both the target and the marksman are both running, you think it is miraculous that the target is not hit?
Firing a gun entails more than holding the gun sideways. There is a proper stance to ensure the kickback does not throw off the aim. The trigger is squeezed, not pressed etc.

You only need to ask yourself how the white men overpowered our forefathers to realise that the so called bullet proof story is a myth.
Nairaland GeneralRe: Annoying Things Nigerians Do by judano: 11:44pm On Aug 09, 2013
It's so annoying to get 10 missed calls from same person when it is not an emergency. You are supposed to call just once and wait for the missed call to be returned.

People gather to watch football in a bar, some will turn their back to the screen and argue about Suarez or some other stuff

Cab drivers that horn needlessly

Osama10: Op Thank your God you did not pick that call and touch that money,it's a new form of ritual things. lipsrsealed
Nah, I picked up the phone (not the call) and I packed back the money into the bag.
AutosRe: Did You Forget Your Money In An Abuja Cab? by judano(op): 8:53pm On Aug 06, 2013
3ace: Well from your story, it is obvious the items belong to a passenger who forgot them. But I don't think it's possible for them to be recovered because even though you have the registration of the cab, the driver could deny ever seeing those items in his vehicle. And also from your story, you do not have any evidence against him. Did you take any pix? Did you record your conversation with him? OP, I think the money is gone.
Well, I very much believed the money did not belong to him. In fact, there is no way the man would own such a huge sum and be chasing peanuts on the street. Let the owner come forward first then we see if we can nail the man.

If the owner does not come forward, what do I need more evidence for?
AutosDid You Forget Your Money In An Abuja Cab? by judano(op): 1:46pm On Aug 06, 2013
Hello, I had to catch a cab quickly. Just before I got to my destination, I heard a phone ringing. The cab driver wasn't sure if it was his radio at first. He kept looking all over the car and even attempted turning off his radio. I found all this very funny and became suspicious. I was certain it was a phone that was ringing.

Eventually, I felt for the bag beneath me and the ringing phone fell off. The driver did not bother to check who was calling. Same time, some bunch of money fell off from same polythene bag. This man was either not aware there was money inside the bag or he trusted me so much he didn't think I could steal the cash (which I could have so easily done at that point). When I brought his attention to the cash, he simply said "keep am back".

Now,

1. Why would a taxi man put such a large amount of money under the passenger seat, not even under his own seat
2. Why would a taxi man not recognize his ringing tone?

Well, I am talking of a very large sum of money here and I want to believe someone must have forgotten his money in a cab.

When I alighted, I copied the registration number of the cab.

I have intentionally kept some details about the taxi and the driver. If you forgot your money in an Abuja cab today, 6th August 2013, contact me so I can help you trace this man.

Cheers.

NB: I couldn't find a relevant section for this bit of information.
FamilyRe: My Wife Is Now Totally For Our Children, Gives Me Little Or No Attention by judano: 9:36am On Aug 06, 2013
It is very easy for couples to forget the emotional needs of one another, to forget the things that bond them so closely. The OP thoroughly understands the challenges his wife is faced with. He admits to distractions even though he does not want to yield to it. Thumbs up for your sincerity.

Keep discussing these things with your wife when you think she has forgotten.

But bear this in mind: love (and marital life) passes through different stages. You are no more at that stage where she can invest all her time on you. That is why it is good practice for newly weds to wait for a while before raising babies, so they can enjoy themselves without distractions. You have to find other means to distract yourself when your wife won't be available for you. Like, football, movies, games, reading and house chores, etc.

I see you are the emotional type, nothing wrong with that. Show her more patience and offer her more help. She may not be complaining but she is stressed up!

The kids have to be trained to sleep on their bed. Initially, you may let them sleep off but later you can transfer them. With time, they will adjust and not 'snatch' your precious wife. Reconsider having a house help too.

Every_LadY: When it comes being open to ur spouse, pls be very and totally open about urself.Wisdom demands that u protect ur loved ones from some information that will not make any positive contribution to their lives. So why tell him/her what mummy said since am not going to implement it?sounds childish to me.
Correct! Moreover, not every partner is matured enough to handle every bit of information. Factor in your partner's maturity and temperament.

Christianity EtcRe: Pope Francis: Who Am I To Judge Gay People? by judano: 5:56pm On Jul 29, 2013
I guess Jesus also spoke in 'unstraight' words when he allowed the fornicator to escape from those that would have stoned her? I guess he also spoke in 'unstraight' words when he chose a tax collector as one of his disciples? It is very easy to miss the essence of religion, it is easy to forget that we are to love sinners and hate sin.
SPEED5: . There is no point for him to speak in un straight words. His stand is meant to be clear. His coment simply shows his acceptance of GAY
Christianity EtcRe: Pope Francis: Who Am I To Judge Gay People? by judano: 5:31pm On Jul 29, 2013
Of course he can't judge them. The bible commands us not to judge so we are not judged. His statement in no way endorses homosexuality. He understands that the homosexuals are faced with issues that are beyond them and suggests that the grace of God is powerful enough to save them if they seek him, regardless of their lifestyle.
Car TalkRe: How Well Do You Park Your Vehicles? by judano: 1:32pm On Jul 28, 2013
uboma: I don't agree with the first part of ur post. How will other drivers mistake a vehicle that is parked with no one inside as 'about to drive out' even when the wheels are not well positioned? However, I do agree with you that the first movement of such a poorly parked vehicle could be dangerous especially when the driver is inexperienced.
When a car is parked in front of another and you are coming from behind, you may not see if the driver is inside or not. But you will see the tire is facing the road and that can be confusing.
Car TalkRe: How Well Do You Park Your Vehicles? by judano: 12:20am On Jul 28, 2013
Other drivers could confuse the position of the front wheel tires to mean the car is about driving out. Front wheels turned towards the road suggests a car is about to drive out. Again, it means that the first movement of your car when you start it could be in a dangerously wrong direction
uboma: It irritates when I see parked vehicles with the front tyres not in a straight position, they are either turned to the right or to the left. When parking my car, I ensure that the wheel is straight. How do you park yours?
