This my IPOB brothers are just opportunist, some of our Igbo brothers who spanked d wrong horse in Germany did so out of annoyance and frustration that we are being shortchanged in this country by our leaders did not do so in d name of IPOB I think it was a wake up call for our leaders.. Ekweremadu Ike though unfortunate on that fateful day, I think had to bring in IPOB in his narrative to cover his embarrassment at Numberg because it will be a huge embarassment that he went to celebrate with his brothers after going for the main BUSSINESS that brought him to Germany and wasn't shamefully sent away... He had to use IPOB to cover up for it to seem like he was attacked and was taken unaware.. By the way he wasn't invited for d new yam festival and u think the will give you a hero's welcome after seeing how u ppl in the corridors of power have left this country in COMA. Now IPOB looking for the slightest opportunity to be in the spotlight had to own up to attacking IKE EKWEREMADU.. Thanks to SEN IKE EKWEREMADU for giving this IPOB brothers a talking and bragging point now and above all he's giving them leverage to disturb our peace this time...
Owelle Rochas Okorocha, Ngige, Orji Uzor Kalu, Theodore Orji and Co should brace up for beating because the deserve it more than IKE EKWEREMADU

Let’s take back our country: An echo from Dawn Michaels Schools

I received the news with great joy that my twins -Chidindu and Chidimma Okoro were elected the Head boy and Head Girl of their school- Dawn Michaels Schools Okota, Lagos. As inconsequential as this political development may be, I had time to reflect on it in the context of Nigeria political development and this forms the basis of my intervention.

Only recently, Okota was in the news for the wrong reason. A group of tugs were on rampage and disenfranchised voters purely because of their political and ethnic persuasions. That singular incident which I witnessed was a reflection of hate against an ethnic group. The hate was of a magnitude unknown to humanity. It was at best, a true reflection of the sick political system we operate. Months down the lane, children of Dawn Michaels School in the same environment had the opportunity to show the world what democracy should be and how serious nations develop. The elected twin sister and brother as their Head Girl and Head Boy respectively without recourse to their ethnic and religious leaning and most importantly without caring they are from the same parents. The singular fact that this feat was achieved in a multicultural and multiethnic environment speaks volume and has great lessons for us as we evolve politically as a nation.

These children have made a strong statement that they wish to live in a society where competence, service and merit should be the anchor. They have made a strong statement against nepotism, quota system and elevation of mediocrity to national prominence. I know some people would argue this feat was recorded because the children lack political sagacity to know the interests at play in real world politics. But I would argue this same political sagacity of ours have left us prostrate as a nation by promoting quota system, incompetence, nepotism in our governance structure. The point to be made here is that any system that holds service (in its true meaning), competence and merit constant in their political equation, is bound to play around with other variables in such a way that the end result is development of collective interests above selfish and mundane interests.

I wish the lessons of this inconsequential political development will echo across our nation that we need to take back our country by dismantling all structures of nepotism, ethnicity and allow merit and competence to drive the levers of our national development. Our children at Dawn Michaels Schools which has its motto as ANCHORED IN EXCELLENCE have made a strong statement that it is indeed possible to eschew the cankerworm of Ethnicity and Religion that has destroyed the fabrics of this nation. They have passed a vote of no confidence against quota system, mediocrity and ethnicity.

Let’s respect the wishes of our children who desire to live in a society of merit and excellence by putting the collective good of our nation above ethnic and narrow interests. Only when this is done that we shall begin to see square pegs in square holes and unleash the full potential of this great nation.
