¹⁴ And when they were come to the multitude, there came to him a certain man, kneeling down to him, and saying,

¹⁵ Lord, have mercy on my son: for he is lunatick, and sore vexed: for ofttimes he falleth into the fire, and oft into the water.

¹⁷ Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him hither to me.

¹⁸ And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour.

¹⁹ Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out?

²⁰ And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.

²¹ Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.


Fasting doesn't give faith. It is God's WORD that gives us faith (Romans 10:17)

However fasting helps to amplify or magnify faith ever increasingly up to God's level of infinite faith.

This is why Jesus said:

📖 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
— Matthew 4:4

Man is a spiritual being made in God's image. God created man to function just like Himself in faith.

However, the source of man's faith is God's WORD which functions as nutrition to the spirit of man.

The more man lives by God's WORD, the stronger his faith becomes and the more He acts in faith like God would.

This emphasizes the importance of fasting. Fasting is not meant to show off one's spirituality but to grow ever stronger in faith like God by His Word.

There are certain things that cannot happen spiritually unless we exercise faith backed with fasting: and this is the MAJOR reason why majority of Christians are continually stagnant in life and destiny.

Just like the disciples find it difficult to cast out a peculiar demon because of their lack of faith, there are certain of our problems, mountains, enemies, etc. that require a higher level of faith to overcome which can only come through fasting.

If you desire to be great in your generation, you need to fast often.

📖....in fastings often...
— 2 Corinthians 11:27

This is because life is filled with different obstacles to stop your destiny, and you will occasionally need a much higher faith than usual to surmount.

But above all, fasting enables us to grow more spiritually above the weakness of the flesh to become more and more like Jesus.

Let me share a secret with you even though I know you wouldn't believe it.
You will not be judged by how many praises you sang on earth rather, you will be judged on how you overcame sin and the temptations of this world.

Believe it or not, in God's scale of preference, praise comes first before any other thing.

That's why when we go with requests to God, we first praise Him and make our requests.

However, that doesn't mean we live a life of sin. Sin can disqualify any one, no matter how much you sing to God.

Is praising Him our primary purpose? Capital no.
That's why the bible never said that we will be Judged by how well we praise Him.
His promises goes to them that overcome not to them that praise Him.

Our destinies differ, some are born engineers, doctors, tailors, musicians, etc.. But you see our collective destiny is to praise God.

Just as a fish can't survive outside water, we all need God's manifested presence through praise to survive this wicked world.

Heaven is full of praise because God is worthy of praise.

That's how he also wants it on earth, He wants the earth to be full of His praises.

Like I mentioned, God's primary reason for creating man is to praise Him, other reasons are secondary.

Fornication /adultery are very strong temptations, because we are all wired for sex.

Sexual purity requires strong faith in God; it looks impossible in these days of intense lust on social media but actually it isn't.

The highest purpose of God for creating man on earth is to praise and worship Him.

Have you ever asked yourself, 'Why was I created?' 'What's my purpose on earth?'

Well, your major assignment on earth is to praise God. Every other thing is secondary.

In other words, what God is saying here is that our praises to Him is like food and water to us.

When we effectively praise God, He deals with us favourably/preferentially; He distinguishes us from crowds of people with special blessings and miracles.

God earnestly desires our worship, not because He is narcissistic or a dictator, but because He is worthy of it.

📖 I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.
— Psalms 18:3

If there's anyone that deserves praise, it's the Almighty God because He created everything, living and non_living for His pleasure.

📖Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.
— Revelation 4:11

Praise is the highest form of prayer because God personally inhabits it, He takes immense pleasure in it, even more more than animal burnt offerings:

📖 But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.
— Psalms 22:3

³⁰ I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving.

There's absolutely nothing God cannot give us when we learn how to praise Him persistently alongside with faith.

The devil knew this secretly about God and tempted Jesus with earthly glory in exchange of His worship!

Previously before his fall, the devil was a highly Anointed archangel ministering and leading praise and worship to God with inbuilt musical instruments 🎻🪕🎷🪉🎹.

(Ezekiel 28:11_15)

As a result of his position, he was highly favoured and loved by God, but lost everything out of pride!

No other angel stood close to Him in Anointing, beauty and glory! That was why he was able to convince 30% of the angels to rebel with Him!

That's why today the devil diverts praise, worship and love to God to himself with mostly sinful secular music (with lewd lyrics) and sexual immorality.

👉The biggest secret I have learned about praise is that God moves quickly on your desires and expectations when you praise continually than when you request continually.

It's not automatic though, but when you delight in Him through worship, He also delights in you by giving you your heart's desires like He did to Solomon:

Praise is the highest form of prayer.....

It's the most effective door alongside with faith, to the miracles and blessings of God.

Truth is there is absolutely nothing God cannot give you when you praise Him persistently.

The devil knew this secret about God and tempted Jesus with the kingdoms of earth in exchange of worship!
