Where there is equity and fairness and justice, the 2023 presidential candidate should have gone to south east by all political parties to pacify them for the years of neglect they have suffered politically as all tribes have had the bite to the presidency.

Peter Obi got close to 98% in Anambra and other South East states because
1. It was and is still the turn of the South East to produce Nigeria's next president according to a lot of Nigerians who believe in equity including governor Samuel Ortom, Afenifere, PANDEF and the Middle Belt Forum etc and no right thinking person will throw away what belongs to them after years of cries of marginalization;
2. HE Peter Obi was generally seen as the best candidate among the others with integrity, credibility, competence and capacity according to president Olusegun Obasanjo and others.
3. Prior to 2023, the Igbo people of the Southeast had been voting for outsiders like president Olusegun Obasanjo (even when dim Emeka Odumegwu Ojukwu contested), late president Umar Musa Yaradua, former president Goodluck Jonathan and former vice president Atiku Abubakar.

When it was said to be the turn of the North in 2015, close to 90 - 99% of voters in Katsina, Kano, Kaduna, Jigawa, Zamfara, Sokoto, Kebbi, Borno, Yobe, Niger, Adamawa, Bauchi and Gombe states voted enmasse for former president Muhammadu Buhari.
I didn't hear or read anyone accusing them of bigotry or voting along tribal lines.
