JOHANNESBURG (AFP) – Nelson Mandela’s doctors have rejected the idea of turning off the ailing icon’s life support unless he suffers massive organ failure, a close family friend told AFP. Denis Goldberg — an anti-apartheid activist who has been Mandela’s friend for more than half a century — on Friday said the issue of turning off life support was discussed and ultimately dismissed. “I was told the matter had been raised and the doctors said they would only consider such a situation if there was a genuine state of organ failure,” Goldberg said. “Since that hasn’t occurred they were quite prepared to go on stabilising him until he recovers.” The 80-year-old Goldberg was convicted along with Mandela in 1964 for their fight against white-minority rule. He visited the former president in hospital on Monday. A court document filed by a lawyer for Mandela’s family nine days ago stated the 94- year-old was “assisted in breathing by a life support machine.” “The Mandela family have been advised by the medical practitioners that his life support machine should be switched off,” the court filing read. “Rather than prolonging his suffering, the Mandela family is exploring this option as a very real probability.” The document – which was designed to press a court to urgently settle a family row over the remains of Mandela’s children — also stated that Mandela was “in a permanent vegetative state.” South Africa’s presidency has stated that is not the case, but has refused to give further details of his condition, citing the need to respect Mandela’s privacy. On the day the document was drafted, President Jacob Zuma abruptly cancelled a trip to Mozambique to confer with Mandela’s doctors amid fears the 94-year-old may be close to the end. Zuma, Mandela family members and his close friends have since reported his condition has improved. South African presidential spokesman Mac Maharaj told AFP on Friday that Zuma’s office “had not been party” to the court material and would not speculate on its content. “We did not file any document and we are not saying that it’s true or not true,” he said. Earlier Goldberg said Mandela was “clearly a very ill man, but he was conscious and he tried to move his mouth and eyes when I talked to him.” “He is definitely not unconscious,” he added, saying “he was aware of who I was”. Mandela, who spent 27 years in prison for fighting white-minority rule and went on to lead the process of racial reconciliation as South Africa’s first black president, has now spent a month in hospital after being admitted with a recurrent lung infection. South Africa’s parliament on Friday hosted a prayer service in a Cape Town cathedral where Mandela was hailed as “an icon of a truly free South Africa”. “It is a reflective period for our people,” said national assembly deputy speaker NomaIndiya Mfeketo. “The thought of Madiba in hospital indisposed due to illness is harrowing. This is not what we wish for our beloved hero.” The ruling African National Congress (ANC) dedicated its annual Gauteng provincial general council meeting in Pretoria to Mandela. “We want to acknowledge him as a comrade who not only stood for the ANC as a servant of the people of South Africa; he also stood for values of human rights and justice universally,” said ANC Gauteng deputy chairwoman Gwen Ramokgopa. The delegates, dressed in white T-shirts bearing Mandela’s image and the words “Long live Nelson Mandela”, sang struggle songs dedicated to the anti- apartheid icon, the South African Press Association reported. Meanwhile leading South Africans urged Mandela’s family to end an increasingly acerbic family feud over the gravesites of three of Mandela’s children. On Thursday Mandela’s grandson Mandla launched a tirade at close family members who took him to court to force him to reinter Mandela’s children at the revered former South African leader’s proposed burial ground in Qunu, his childhood village. Mandla accused one of his brothers of impregnating his wife and said others were born out of wedlock. The three bodies were reburied Thursday in Qunu, but the fall-out from the dispute continued to reverberate. South African Nobel peace laureate Desmond Tutu pleaded with Mandela’s family not to “besmirch” the former president’s name. “Please, please, please may we think not only of ourselves. It’s like spitting in Madiba’s face,” said Tutu in a statement, using Mandela’s clan name. Presidential spokesman Maharaj also urged the family to solve the increasingly bitter dispute “amicably”. “It is regrettable that there is a dispute going on amongst family members and we’d like that dispute to be resolved as amicably and as soon as possible,” he said. Mandela was rushed to hospital on June 8 with a recurring respiratory infection. |
The special task force (STF) restoring peace in Jos , named ‘operation safe haven’ said it has secured the entire southern senatorial zone of Plateau state against further attack by assailants. Commander of STF Major General Henry Ayoola gave this in a chat with newsmen in his office at the STF headquarters in Jos yesterday. Some gunmen invaded three communities of Langtang south local government of Plateau state last Thursday killing 28 members of the communities. Several residents fled their homes out of fear. Gen Ayoola while condemning media reports alleging rising cases of death as a result of continued killings in the communities said, “This is not a case of ethnic crises between Fulani and Tarok, it was a case where some gunmen came to attack residents of three communities of Langtang south local government. “As soon as the STF got the information, we moved in there to confront the attackers last week, the attackers challenged my troops but when they discovered we have superior fire, they fled. “But before the gunmen retreated, we had killed over 20 of them. My troop traced them in their direction and gunned down several of them days after the attack. “So far, we have killed more than 100 of the attackers before we succeeded in securing the areas. You know it is the practice of the attackers not to leave any of their members behind wherever they come to attack, they pick their corpses along”, Gen Ayoola said. |
Hmm......na wa Ooo, she's seeking attention by all means. |
ayenny02: I don't blame you because you don't have anything to say again and those christians who don't study their bible will be looking at you now that instead to defend them, na english u dey lookWhat more can I say? We took our time to explain everything to u in a way that even a four year old wld understand, but u totally refused to accept or I guess u're too confused to understand. Or cos u're so bent on achieving ur aim "to discredit the bible". U say "the bible contradicts itself", the same u said "Jesus talked of the coming of Mohammed as the comforter". In one of ur posts, u tried and failed to prove dat the bible contradicts itself. U just tryn to twist the bible to suit ur agenda, but my friend its not possible.......its either u choose to accept the bible or u dnt, its dat simple. Cos we dnt believe the the quaran. We only refer u to ur quaran to show u how contradictory it is. The errors in ur written English are grammatical and not typographical, so the excuse of "cos u're using phone to type" is not accepted. |
ayenny02: did you see me quoting the book of isaiah, Mr man, go and sit down for one place jo.The truth has been defended 100% u just chose not to accept it. |

ayenny02: Are they speakin american english or britain english. OLODOActs 8:26-40 26 Then an angel of the Lord said to Philip, ‘Get up and go towards the south* to the road that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.’ (This is a wilderness road.) 27So he got up and went. Now there was an Ethiopian eunuch, a court official of the Candace, queen of the Ethiopians, in charge of her entire treasury. He had come to Jerusalem to worship 28and was returning home; seated in his chariot, he was reading the prophet Isaiah. 29Then the Spirit said to Philip, ‘Go over to this chariot and join it.’ 30So Philip ran up to it and heard him reading the prophet Isaiah. He asked, ‘Do you understand what you are reading?’ 31He replied, ‘How can I, unless someone guides me?’ And he invited Philip to get in and sit beside him. 32Now the passage of the scripture that he was reading was this: ‘Like a sheep he was led to the slaughter, and like a lamb silent before its shearer, so he does not open his mouth. 33 In his humiliation justice was denied him. Who can describe his generation? For his life is taken away from the earth.’ 34The eunuch asked Philip, ‘About whom, may I ask you, does the prophet say this, about himself or about someone else?’ 35Then Philip began to speak, and starting with this scripture, he proclaimed to him the good news about Jesus. 36As they were going along the road, they came to some water; and the eunuch said, ‘Look, here is water! What is to prevent me from being baptized?’* 38He commanded the chariot to stop, and both of them, Philip and the eunuch, went down into the water, and Philip* baptized him. 39When they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord snatched Philip away; the eunuch saw him no more, and went on his way rejoicing. 40But Philip found himself at Azotus, and as he was passing through the region, he proclaimed the good news to all the towns until he came to Caesarea. Frm the above passage the Ethiopian was reading the book of isaiah, he didn't understand who isaiah was talking about until Philip explained to him. Ayenny wen people start insulting its a sign of defeat, and shows u've embarrassed urself cos it clearly shows here dat u dnt read the bible u only copy and paste wat u don't understand. By definition u're a total OLODO. Cos the only correctly written English are the ones u copied and pasted. The ones u wrote urself are so full of errors dat can cos a migraine. The bible didn't ask us to worship Mary as far as am concerned. U're too confused to understand the bible cos u've been initiated into the cult "Islam" and blinded by it dat u can't even see the truth even if its right b4 ur eyes. I'll let u know that Allah is a demon, and his agent Mohammed the pervert. U need deliverance. The church is marching on and the gates of hell cannot prevail against it. |
Ayenny stop deceiving urself thinking u can explain the bible to us (Christians). Cos na u go wound urself O. The bible was written under the inspiration of the holy spirit. Acts 8:26-40 the story of the Ethiopian eunuch and Philip. The Ethiopian didn't understand what the scriptures were saying until Philip explained it to him. So u my confused friend will only understand if u open ur mind to understand. This talks has been going in circles one thing is for sure, all the Christians hav been speaking the same thing over and over again, but u chose not to listen cos u've been blinded by the spirit of Islam. And pls dnt get it twisted, we serve the one and true God, Allah is u muslems' god (a demon). |

No sir the 2 books are saying the same thing in different ways, so I can't select one. I know ur mission to discredit the bible has so blinded u that u won't see the truth in my explanations. The main reason am replying u is for those Christians who dnt study their bibles who might be deceived by ur false claims. U've provided an avenue for deep bible study..........hahahahahaha |
1. In 2Samuel 24:1, God incited David to number Israel because God was angry with David. Ultimately, God wanted to teach David not to trust in his number of fighting men, but to trust in Him. So, He moved to let David count the fighting men of Israel. He used Satan to do it which is why in 1 Chronicles 21:1, it says Satan moved David to count the men. Both are true. God most probably either sent Satan or allowed Satan to incite David. 2. The solution to the difference in counts for Israel can be answered in the Hebrew word for "valiant," which is "chayil" found in 2Samuel 24:9. It means, "men of valor, army, host, etc." It means that the men numbered in 2 Samuel 24:9 were those with battle experience where the men of 1 Chronicles 21:5 were not. There were an additional 300,000 men ready for battle who had not yet experienced it. Therefore, 2 Sam. 24:9 numbers only the experienced men, where 1 Chronicles 21:5 numbers all men of battle ready age. 3. Regarding Judah's number difference: The solution is provided for us in the following verse, 1 Chronicles 21:6, which says, "But he did not number Levi and Benjamin among them, for the king’s command was abhorrent to Joab," (NASB). Verse six states that the numbering process had not yet been completed since the tribes of Levi and Benjamin had not been numbered. 4. The answer to this lies in 2 Samuel 21:1: "Then there was a famine in the days of David three years, year after year; and David enquired of the LORD. And the LORD answered, It is for Saul, and for his bloody house, because he slew the Gibeonites." Notice also that it takes 9 months and 20 days to complete the numbering of the people (2 Samuel 24: .O.K. now put it all together. The scriptures make it clear that at least 3 years of famine have past before David begins to number the people. 9 months and 20 days later David has finished numbering the people. At this time (At least 3 years, 9 months, and 20 days of famine later plus the time between 2 Sam 21:1 and when David numbers the people), Gad comes to David and offers him 3 choices: 1. 3 years of famine (This would make a total of 7 years since it is in addition to the 4 years that have already passed!) 2. 3 months of fleeing from his enemies 3. 3 days of pestilence It is perfectly acceptable for the LORD to offer David 3 more years of famine, or offer him a total of 7 years of famine. There is no contradiction! 5. It was quite common for Kings to govern through a Regent, especially when quite young. Alexander the Great, for instance, had a Regent governing in Greece while he conquered the world. Sometimes the reign of a King was measured when the Regent started ruling in the King's name, other times it was measured from when the King took personal rule. Sometimes Regency was set for a certain number of years (like 10 years or 20 years) and other times it was set until the King reached a certain age. Obviously a Regent ruled for the first 20 years of Ahaziah's reign. One account (2 Kings) measures it to when the Regent was named for Ahaziah at age 22, the other (2 Chronicles) measures it to when Azahiah took personal control at age 42 after a 20 year Regency by a Regent. Ayenny read this for now, so u won't get confused and if u hav any objections. |
If you don't have any reasonable thing to say you better go sit down for reserve CHAIR and continue to watch the game[/quote]Hahahahahaha.......u see urself? Oya na answer wit all ur fake and miss guarded twisted blabbing. U're retreating now cos u hav nothing to say. |
@Ayenny, ur case is likened to that of some1 who bought an equipment dat he has no idea of how to operate, and is refusing to use the manual that came wit it. The book of psalms is not a prophetic book O! The book was originally titled Tehillim, which means “praise songs” in Hebrew. The English title of “Psalms” originated from the Septuagint’s Greek title Psalmoi, also meaning “songs of praise.”1 See as u're embarrassing urself, even dictionary defined it as a book of hyms, songs and prayers. @Ayenny matt 20:18-19 18 Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be betrayed unto the chief priests and unto the scribes, and they shall condemn him to death, 19 And shall deliver him to the Gentiles to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify him: and the third day he shall rise again. These are the exact word of Jesus. John 19:25-27 25 Now there stood by the cross of Jesus his mother, and his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene. 26 When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son! 27 Then saith he to the disciple, Behold thy mother! And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home. Now at least John one of the disciples was standing there and witnessed the whole event. Isaiah 53:3-9 3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. 4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. 8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.9 And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth. 1. This was at the time he was being led to be crucified, after he had been beaten and was carrying his cross. At that time no one came out to identify wit him cos of the fear of what will happen to them. 2. Vs 8-9 8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.9 And he made his grave with the wicked. WHO SHALL DECLEAR HIS GENERATION? In plain English "who will continue wit his generation? Cos he had no child. HE WAS CUT OFF OUT OF THE LIVING. (KILLED). 3. He didn't defend himself wen he was questioned by the priests and pilate. Matthew 26:62-64 62 And the high priest arose, and said unto him, Answerest thou nothing? what is it which these witness against thee? 63 But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God. 64 Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven. 2 people in vs 61 accused him of saying "he'll destroy the temple and rebuild it in 3 days". That's what the priest asked him to defend himself against, but he remained silent. Matthew 26:39 And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt. 4. Isaiah 53:8 (NIV) By oppression and judgment he was taken away. Yet who of his generation protested? For he was cut off from the land of the living;for the transgression of my people he was punished. Bros! U didn't get that frm the NIV, guess u read it blindly. 5. Bros, in the ancient times dey bury the dead in tombs, dey don't did the ground to bury the dead. People usually build their tombs b4 they die. Go and research on burial tombs. For crying out loud! Do u understand English at all? De bible dosent mean he'll be buried along with people in the same grave (tomb) its just saying he'll be buried just like ordinary people. The rich & wicked were all also buried in tombs. 6. John 1:12-13. 12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— 13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God. 7. Psalms 91:1 Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. It said "WHOEVER" NOT JESUS. It means even if u choose to call on the name of the LORD he'll send his angels to protect u. Matthew 26:53 Do you think I cannot call on my Father, and he will at once put at my disposal more than twelve legions of angels? 54 But how then would the Scriptures be fulfilled that say it must happen in this way?" This happened when dey came arrest Jesus and his disciples were trying to fight back. |
Ayenny02, u're such a confused clown.....no be only Pauline na Paulina. |
Ayenny check proverbs 26:5 that's the reason why am answering you. |
ayenny02: The Quran and Bible agrees that Jesus ascended unto heaven (Luke 24:51), but the main dispute is about what happened in between: the alleged crucifixion, death and resurrection of Jesus (pbuh).Jesus says in Matthew 26:24: “The son of man goes as it is written of him: but woe unto that man by whom the son of man is betrayed! it had been good for that man if he had not been born” What do u think de word "goes" mean in dis context? And where do u think he's going to? He was simply refering to his death. Matthew 20:18-19 behold we go up to Jerusalem and the son of man shall be betrayed unto the chief priests and unto the scribes and they shall condemn him to death. And shall deliver him to the gentiles to mock and scourge and to crusify him and the third day shall he rise again. These are the words of Jesus himself. Pls try and read mark 14:43-52 45&46 Judas went straight and kissed him, AND THEY TOOK HOLD OF HIM. 47 one of his disciples took a sword and cut off de ear of de priest servant. Read John 18:1-11 Vs4 Jesus asked "whom seek ye?" Vs5 they answered Jesus of Nazareth. He said unto them I am he. And Judas stood with them. Vs 10 Peter cut off the high priest's servant ear. Vs 11 Jesus asked him to put out his sword. Vs 12 He was bound and taken away. Read Luke 22:47-54 After judas kissed him, Jesus said "Judas how can u betray me wit a kiss?" Vs 49 de disciples asked if they shld fight back and one of dem Peter cut off the high priest's servant's ear. Jesus asked them not to resist anymore and he healed the man's ear. In vs 52&53 he spoke to the people dat came to arrest him. In vs 54 they arrested him. HERE ARE THE POINTS 1. He told his disciples that he will be betrayed and crucified, and he will be raised back to life after 3 days. That's why he came to them in the flesh form, cos if he was in spirit form it won't be convincing to them that he's back to life. 2. He's disciples believed he won't let himself get arrested, but wen he did they all fled. 3. He was arrested after he spoke to those that came to arrest him. That means they had more than enough time to identify him before arresting him, so at what time did he switch place wit Judas under the watch of the guards? 4. U said Judas didn't answer questions when he was being asked cos it was not Jesus that was arrested. Read Isaiah 53:1-12 Vs 7 He was oppressed and he was afflicted yet he opened not his mouth. Mallam Ayenny02 let's see if u can understand this. |
