WILL10: My D2 VISA Application Experience Location: SK Embassy in Lagos. Dated on: 4th Aug Applying for combined Msc n PhD in Information Technology
Docs Submitted 1. Properly filled visa app form wt 2 passports Fotos. 2. Int'l passports n copies of it. 3. Well written study plan. 4. Originals docs from pry till Masters n Birth cert. 5. Notorized copies of origals ONLY. 6. Admission docs n copies of it. 7. Sponsorship letters from dad n my SK Lab Supervisor (since am on a full scholarship wt monthly allowance also.) 8. Official letters from all my Deans (Yabatech n 2 others in India).
Conversation with d Naija VO *Got there and waited my turn. *She checked all docs and arranged them her way. *She took dem all inside to d SK VO. (Originals, copies, Int'l passport, letters n admission docs). *She came back after about 5mins wt d VO officer and issued me a filed-out deposit SK teller asking me to go make payments of 18,500(Naira). *She finally asked me to come back and pick up my Int'l passport, visa n other docs on 18th Aug 2016 @2pm.
My Conclusions *She was a lil bit hasty expecting me to have properly arranged my docs. *But was able to calm her down at some point wt some sweet talks. *She emphasized strongly on letters from my Deans n Bank statements, admission kits n study plan. *Expected some form of interview but none was done. *Was very smooth got over in less than 15mins.

kcluv2men: Hi everyone, i'm George by name and i've been following this thread for a while now. I'm an applicant for fall semester Language studies in Korea. I am not impressed at all with the silence of this beloved thread which is full of detailed information and key insights concerning the whole process of studying in korea. We have people here, that have come and gone through this thread but they refuse to share success stories. Nobody is updating the house on first hand gists or tips. I'm not asking for much but please let's try to find time to drop posts here and encourage the people like us that have found interest to study in korea. I indulge everyone to please say something and let's keep this thread alive and hale. I appreciate each and every one of you guys. Thanks so much. Cheers! The truth is, this thread is slow like this because many people don't yet believe they can make money in south korea. So people are still rushing to Canada usa and other popular countries. One thing is to get admission, another thing is for you to see bank that will pay your school fees. I am talking from experience and some people can testify to that. I sofa for this pals. I will advise you to start your application on time so that you can fight the wahala of cbn to a stand still. Diamond bank still remains the best bank but i came to know too late. We are still on the hustle bec we are not of they that give up but of they that lush to the end. |

For those of you that will be going to embassy soon and you are thinking of how to book ticket as your itinerary, i just got the solution. Download a software called AVIASELLER and put your route on it, then it will boot and give you all the available flight, just take the cheapest one or any one u like and add the date of your departure. Tick one way and it will take you to the next page, just follow the instructions from there and you are done. Your itinerary will be swnt to your email box. Shallom. Please take note, the VISA OR MASTER CARD YOU WANTS TO ADD MUST NOT HAVE ANY MONEY INSIDE O. IF NOT SAY GOOD BYE TO YOUR CASH. I WARED U O. |

Boss, did you ask the woman or any other embassy official if the requirements on their embassy website are the only documents we need, if not please help us to contact the woman and ask her. kcluv2men: I was able to speak with a korean administrative staff that called me to come pick up my documents. I used the opportunity to confirm about visa processing times and she said minimum of ten business days but it actually differs depending on the case of various applicants because of clarification of bank statement and other processes but i think they're efficient persons. Aside from vfs that isn't reliable. And mind you i went to pick up my documents myself because i stated it was urgent in an e-mail i sent to them about meeting up with a deadline. She's a good person as she even called me with her personal number. Those bad belle security men for gate even stopped me and told me they were on break that i should return in 2hours time after explaining to them about my plight. I just called her and she came to attend to me personally. For now, that's all i can say. Thank you very much |

kcluv2men: Thanks bro. I'm considering asking an aunt to pay for me in the states and i'll credit her naira account here. Would it be a faster process than using the banks? Cc acadollar, don milky, puritymypride, vknonkwo and every other person with knowledge about this suggestion Definitely it will be faster but at what rate will ur anty sell dollar for u? She will want to use the black market rate for u because that is what the dollar would have amount to supposing she brought it home. But if she is kind enough to give u at the official rate, then u are good to go and it will be faster. |

kcluv2men: Guys, how long does it take embassy to legalize documents both here in Nigeria and for those that did theirs in korea through friends? I have submitted since tuesday(10am) and the lady at the reception promised to call when it's ready. I haven't seen any alert from her till now. Even though she said it would take tentatively two days processing time. Today is the third day already and it's delaying my process. Also, how long does it take to pay school fees from Nigeria and receive admission package from korea? Is there any option to expedite this service and probably pay through tuition for it. Please help to clarify guys. I think the best bank u should use is diamond bank. Don't try to use ecobank because they will waste your time. Ecobank sells 300 naira per dollar but diamond bank is 283 or 284 depending on thier biding that day. U cannot expedite the process, i will advice u do it on time and not wait till dieing minutes. It will take one week and above to get your admission package from South korea. From what i have gathered and i think it also depends on the school. Apply to a school who has good communication relationship with their clients so that u can always relate to them when u have any challenge. Daehan University is the best in communication. https://m.facebook.com/dtuenglishprogram/Thats their Facebook chat link and they always reply. Don't forget that they are 8 hours ahead if us, so chat with them accordingly. PLEASE i hope i did not offend. |

xp17: @acadollar, I was at the Nigerian embassy this monday to submit my visa application but they got me scrolled. they said i need to travell within 3 months of visa approval , but the last time i went, they told me it was okay to start the visa application even when i told them i was not ready to travel till the end of the year.
The Nigerian lady up there needs to be retrained on customer service, she would not respond to me even when i greeted, had eye contact and told her i needed to talk to her. I was about to lose my cool on her but something in me kept cooling the shyte out of me. It was one korean lady that later came and she went to call a Nigerian man who said he's from akwa ibo for me, he was really cool though, he said i should come back again within 3 months of travelling and i don't need to reschedule for any appointment, a walk in will be fine.
I Bought a return flight ticket with Qatar air, that was the fastest i could find with about 18hrs and 15hrs respectively. This is going to be the longest flight journey ever.
Over all satisfaction with the Nigerian Embassy is 2/10. |
