I love Titans and Icons for one reason. Both are progressive. They promote the craft of their fave. While Icons gave Laycon a car and a studio. Titans outdid themselves by gifting her a delivery van for her business and 6 million to expand her business. . . Even if you don't like both fanbase, just put some respect on their name!!

Nigeria Needs To Shut Its Own Border Against UK Immediately

There are fears over the new strain of coronavirus that is prevalent in southern England and as such European giants are shutting down their borders and restricting movement from the UK. This is in a bid to ensure that the new, more infectious coronavirus found in England do not spread to their countries.

It was reported by mainstream media that France shuts its own border with UK for 48 hours. France ban include all means of transport (air, rail, water or road). Countries including Germany, The Netherlands, Italy, Belgium, Austria, The Irish Republic, Turkey and Canada are stopping UK flights.

Yesterday, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson and scientists announced that a new strain of coronavirus had been identified in the country and was up to 70 percent more infectious than the original version. Literarily, this means that it is more deadly than the original version.

However, while these European giants are taking step to curtail the spread of this new variant, no Nigerian government official is talking about steps to prevent the influx of this new variant to the country. UK recorded 40,000 new cases in less than 24 hours according to reports.

It should be pertinent to note that Nigeria cannot afford to go on another lockdown as a result of this pandemic. The first phase of the pandemic sent our economy into another recession. There were scarcity of food and inflation was on the rise.

During the first phase, we lost notables mens to the virus such as Abba Kyari, Abiola Ajimobi and other prominent personalities. Procrastination is the thief of time, this is why the government should try and shut its border against UK travellers now to avoid the influx of this new variant which is adjudged to be more infectious.

Also, strict covid 19 measures should be adhered to at our borders. Anyone coming in must be mandated to isolate for a minimum of 10 days and other national authority guidelines. The World Health Organization has called on all its members in Europe to step up measures against coronavirus in the face of the new variant circulating in Britain.

According to British government scientific officer, Sir Patrick disclosed that the new strain which is officially named VUI-202012/01 was revealed to contain 23 different genetic changes and accounted for 60 percent of new infections in London.

Also, Dr. Kemi Olunloyo, an investigative Journalist has also called on the attention of the government to the impending danger and plead with them to ban all flights from UK and South Africa.

Nigerian government should take our health and security as a priority because to be fore warned is to be fore harmed.
