David Oyedepo, the presiding Bishop, Living Faith Church Worldwide, says he would lay hand on any Coronavirus patient brought to him for prayer.

He said he would not wear gloves to do so but would lay his bare hands on the patient to receive healing. Oyedepo, who spoke at the church’s Covenant Hour of Prayer, CHoP, said Christians must be listed among the people God had vowed to honour this year.

A Nigerian man, identified as Muyiwa Ayorinde, was mobbed at the Oke Aro area of Akure, Ondo State capital, for dumping his own baby inside a canal in the area, TopNaija reports.

West Mathewson, 69, a South African conservationist has been killed by lions he hand-reared, the family said on Thursday.



Mathewson was walking two white lionesses on Wednesday when one of the animals attacked and killed him without warning. The incident took place on the premises of the family-owned Lion Tree Top Lodge, in South Africa’s northern Limpopo province.

On Tuesday, Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu paraded a commercial boat helmsman, Bimbo Elebiju, for causing the death of 12 of his passengers while conveying them to their destinations.



The victims were said to have drowned after the wave of a ship sailing along the Kirikiri waterfront made the boat, which engine had been switched off during an argument between Bimbo and his passengers over the fare, to capsize.

Not less than 10 people were killed and more than 3,300 homes ruined by flooding triggered by torrential rains across much of Sudan this week, the country’s civil defence organisation said Thursday.

Some 1,800 homes were completely destroyed while just over 1,500 were partially ruined, it said, while 21 schools and eight mosques were swept away.

Not less than seven residential buildings and 30 adjoining shops were destroyed on Saturday by a fire that broke out at a market on Ladipo Street, Mushin area of Lagos State, TopNaija reports.

It was learnt that there was a spark from a wire when power was restored around 1pm. The wire was said to have fallen from a pole on a matress and sparked off the fire.

47-year-old man, Eromosele Mahmud, has been arrested by the police in Rivers State for allegedly impregnating his 16-year-old daughter after raping her for five years, TopNaija reports.

A Nigerian man who allegedly beat up his wife has been accosted by neighbours who condemned him for his actions, as the video went viral online, TopNaija reports.

Umaru Aliyu, a 48-year-old man, has been arrested for luring a three-year-old girl to the side of a stream close to his house in the Mararaba area of the Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, where he defiled her.



The unfortunate incident occurred on May 26, 2020, at the New Orange Market area in the local government area. The state Commissioner of Police, Mr Bola Longe, who confirmed this on Monday in an interview in Lafia, said the suspect was apprehended within the local government.
