In Nigeria, one of the noteworthy ways some pastors end the year in this part of the world is by giving prophecies about the incoming year.

A lot of religious followers do not joke with the utterances of their religious leaders during that period. Among those who “prophesied” in December 2019 was Emmanuel Omale, founder of the Divine Hand of God Prophetic Ministry, Abuja.

Omale had reeled out a list of things he said would happen in 2020 and one of the things he highlighted is President Muhammadu Buhari retaining Ibrahim Magu, suspended acting chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Challenges of the suspended and embattled acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibrahim Magu have worsened as the presidential panel investigating corruption allegations against him shifted its focus to properties he allegedly acquired in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.



The suspended EFCC boss, who has been in the police custody since his arrest on Monday, was interrogated for the third time on Wednesday.

Fresh allegations emerged against Magu as the panel continued its sitting just as he was again detained after Wednesday’s interrogation.

Magu was accosted by security agents in plain clothes in front of the old EFCC headquarters on Fomella Street, Wuse 2, Abuja, at noon on Monday and compelled to appear before the panel.

He has been in police custody at the Force Criminal Investigation Department, Garki, since Monday from where he has been appearing before the panel to respond to questions on the allegations raised against him by the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN).

Nigerian photographer, Busola Dakolo has given an update on the rape case she filed against the senior pastor of Commonwealth Of Zion Assembly (COZA), Biodun Fatoyinbo, exactly one year ago.

The wife of popular Nigerian artiste, Timi Dakolo, took to her Instagram page on Thursday, June 4, 2020, to announce that her victory is near.

According to Busola, the flamboyant Abuja pastor ‘clearly has a case to answer.’

She stated that the case filed against Fatoyinbo has been handed over to the Ministry of Justice for onward prosecution. Busola, however, accused the Ministry of Justice of trying to bury the rape case. She said the Ministry has been keeping mute ever since the case was transferred to their quarters.

Imo SARS arrests murder suspect declared wanted in 2019

Operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the Imo State Police Command have apprehended a murder and robbery suspect, Chukwuemeka Nnane, 31, for alleged involvement in criminal activities.

The suspect was in 2019 declared wanted by the command over a murder case.

The state Commissioner of Police, Isaac Akinmoyede, said the suspect was arrested in the Oguta Local Government Area of the state.

Describing the arrest as a major breakthrough for the command, the CP said his officers and men would continue to clamp down on criminals in the state.

Akinmoyede stated, “On May 4, 2020, in Umudeyi, Oguta LGA, Imo State, a SARS operation coordinated by CSP Victor Godfrey and led by Inspector Onyeka led to the arrest of one Chukwuemeka Nnane, aka No Stain, and the recovery of the following weapons: 15 live GPM special ammunition and two Lar rifle magazines, a police fez cap and a Lar rifle hidden in a shrine.

“It is important to note that the suspect has been on our wanted list for murder and robbery. He belongs to the notorious Ebuka Ukachukwu, aka Small Witch’s gang of armed robbers and kidnappers, and was declared wanted by the Imo State Police Command on September 19, 2019.

“The suspect has confessed to the crimes. During the arrest, he sustained gunshot injury on his lower left leg. He was rushed to hospital, treated and discharged.”

We don’t want to ask the typical ‘can we meet you’ question lol, but for those who don’t know, who are you and what do you do?
I’m Fola Folayan. A broadcast journalist and media entrepreneur. I run a broadcast media training agency called Broadcast Radio Master Class (BRMC). We train aspiring broadcasters with a basic beginners curriculum and an apprenticeship method of learning. We also connect our students to internship and job opportunities in the radio industry.

Tell us about your advent into entrepreneurship, how did you start your business?
I started the business in August 2015. Back then, I just wanted to provide a platform where young people interested in the media could learn from mentors. Then, the inadequate training opportunities for people who are not necessarily communication graduates but are interested in a media career became obvious, so I stepped in to fill in that space.

Tell us about one of the toughest situations you’ve found yourself in as a business owner.
One of the toughest situations I’ve found myself in as a business owner is raising capital for my projects. I still have to work a 9-5 job to put money in. Running a media business takes tremendous investments and sometimes it can become tough but I’m taking things one step at a time.

One achievement that I am most proud of, is the partnerships I have been able to form. BRMC is partnered with broadcast organizations and an employability training organization and that has helped us in securing a good training location and regular internship placements for our students. That has been a blessing.

I think my greatest weakness as an entrepreneur is my networking habit. I know I’m bad at it but I’m learning.

Which popular entrepreneurial advice do you disagree with?

I don’t know if I disagree with any entrepreneurship advice now o lol. I’m still learning. I do a lot of listening and I try not to underrate any advice. You never know what will give you the breakthrough you have been waiting for.
