On a more serious note, I believe you have nothing to fear. I am sure when they go back to review your past result, they will see that they made a mistake the last time and marked you down. You don't even need to write too much stories. Tell them you have always been taught in English and you believe you deserved better last time. However, this time you practiced more especially on the type of questions they ask and your natural result came through.

Just remembered now that i was examined by the same lady that examined me for my speaking test during my May exams. Before i went in, i saw her taking a ergo break to stretch.I was sitted next to her office/examining room.She asked me if i was her candidate,i said no.Thinking you can’t be examined twice by the same person. It was the British Council official that corrected me that she's my examiner. I told the official that she examined me the last time,she just grinned,that's all.
In my mind i was like same Mrs Akpan. I just said to myself that its just a coincidence. I got 7 in speaking then. I don't think that should be the cause, just exploring.
I will just take a sip of soda drink, keep my head high and expect the best.I will write a good reply to the e-mail.Trying to get all advise i can get on here.

P.S: I have a very good handwriting,close to a computer.Not exaggerating. Can the marker be thinking how can someone have such legible handwriting. just thinking out loud.Many things running through my mind.

I no longer sympathize with you because I am beginning to strongly believe what others have said about your result being exceptionally good. I have a strong conviction that the outcome of this investigation or whatever it is will very well be a good news for you. Like Wura said, DO NOT WORRY. Like you said, you worked hard for this and nobody will rob you of the fruit of your hard work. Your Canada dream will certainly crystallize. This is just a minor delay. Trust me God is working in your favor.

Please reply their mail in the exact format they've requested (HAND WRITTEN AND SIGNED BY YOU). Ensure to convincingly address anything/issue that you feel could have raised or aroused their curiosity and hope for the best. I completely understand if you're overwhelmed by anxiety, however; try as much as possible to maintain your calm and be clinical in addressing the situation. You're already a winner. Someone suggested you visit their office for further information and/or clarity; you could explore that option too, but please before going, ensure you have written you response as requested as your written reaction may be requested at their office.

DO YOUR FINDINGS VERY WELL BEFORE PROCEEDING TO THEIR OFFICE AS THEY MAY NOT BE INCLINED TO ATTEND TO YOUR CASE IN THEIR OFFICE SINCE THEY HAVE PROVIDED YOU WITH INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO REACT TO THEIR QUERY.

MY QUESTION TO EVERYONE THAT HAS PASSED THROUGH THIS PARTICULAR SITUATION BEFORE; HOW SHOULD HE APPROACH IT? SHOULD HE REACT TO THEIR EMAIL OR IGNORE IT WHILE HOPING FOR FAVORABLE OUTCOME?

I was in your shoes when I first took ielts in 2015. I had all types of what if questions running through my head, but alas! I got the result released 2weeks after and I had 8.5,8.5,7,6.5.
Of course, I didn't use that result as I had to rewrite a second ielts in May 2017 where I had R-9,L-9, S-8, W-7.5.
So my candid advise is: relax. Ielts does that as a routine for exceptional good results. I am certain you did well.

I seriously do not know what they want.However i'll write back to them on the issue of my personal details.The guy that took my passport photograph on speaking test day was the one that told me to fill the form. My examiner also asked if i've filled it,so also during the screening on the test day.

I wrote my last test 25/05/2017 and i had a low score.I got just 6 in listening.I mustered courage and prepared very well for this one,was very optimistic.Malpractice? ??Never!!! I was even sitting in the front row, right infront of the guy dishing out instructions strictly.August 03 candidate can relate.

I don't know why IELTS can't just trust that people can turn around their scores by studying hard and taking it a second time. IELTS has turned to prayer point now.

I just hope and pray the score will be worth it when they eventually release the results

Your situation is a bit curious. It's not something that happens so often if not unprecedented. They didn't even point out what could have gone wrong in your result. Could it be the slight change in your personal details? Could it be exam malpractices (which is not what I am saying)? Could it be that the change you made was not properly effected which invariably raised a dust or confusion as to the credibility of your personal data/information provided? I suspect that the reason why people are not so eager to proffer advice or recommendations is because your situation is not so common. The correspondence to you isn't clear enough as to the specific issue but my calculated guess will most likely be issue of misrepresentation or exam malpractices. I think the answer lies with you. You have to search your mind thoroughly to understand or have a clue as to what you're dealing with. My advice/recommendation is to write them back requesting for specifics so that you can have a better platform to address or tackle the issue head on. You could very well mention the issue of amendment form and see if it savages your situation.

I sympathize with you. This is not something that should happen to anyone. The anxiety that the expectation of result comes with is hectic enough. Best wishes BABA.

I'll write the man about the 16/02/2017 he mentioned as i did not write any exam then.The last time i wrote was 25/05/2017.I don't know how he got that.Tanx mate

PM JT, sorry about this. Could it be that your result is part of those randomly selected for quality control? Besides, I'm seeing two different test dates: 03/08/17 and 16/02/17. Which of the results were they referring to as being withheld?

Not sure there is a need for a debate cos it's been discussed severally on this thread. Even if one goggles WES or IQAS on Nairaland. You would see what is being said. What I see is that people want ready made answer and don't even want to research.

The summary of the matter is that WES does verification of transcript for nigerian certificates. This can cause delay depending on how fast your school responds. IQAS currently has a processing time of 30 days but do not do verification thus making it faster in the long run.

That being said. WES is recommended for HND, ND, ACCA and foreign certificates. I would suggest that anyone evaluating a Nigerian degree try IQAS and exercise patience due to the volume of transactions. At least you know u have done ur part once and for all.

My one kobo advice. Avoid WES and use IQAS. You can search for previous posts on them. Your waec result is not relevant for this purpose. Just your bsc is enough. Patiently read through this thread esp the first few pages and understand the requirements. You may not need a Ontario nomination If u can get at least 8 in listening and 7 in the other areas of IETLS..

Focus on your goals and get down to business. All the best.

Bro I feel your matter was actually in your shoes. Got admission in USA Dec. 2016, EE profile Dec too. Had to resume Jan 4 2017. I decided to defer cos I was certain the scores where coming down so luckily I got ITA Jan 11. Fsw is certainly a cheaper option. Like someone said if you go on with the masters you may have depleted your funds but if you have alot of money you can run the two paripaso. Sometimes it's good to be patient but patience comes with alot of pain too. I am patiently waiting.

Hello, Congratulations on your admission. I think you can do both together. What is your CRS score? Have you gotten your ITA? If yes, then that will make things easier as you can complete your documentation before traveling. If no, then I will advice that you have all necessary things and information like Letter of Reference with you before traveling (but not PCC because of the expiry date). For medicals, I don't really know if you can do that before leaving Nigeria (the validity period is one year).

Well, if your CRS score is high then it is possible for you to get ITA and complete your documentation before travelling. If you have not started the process at all, read page 0 and do your IELTS exams and ECA so that you can enter the pool to increase your chances of getting ITA before going to USA.

I feel these two are unconnected except for the fact that your resources might probably be limited once you start the Msc...you might have strained your account balance.

If your masters is for a 1year for example, It means by the time the whole FSW is clicking for you, you will just be finishing your studies (assuming you meet all criteria for the FSW).
If you are asking expressly if you are to pick 1...my brother, opinions will defer...but for me knowing what I know now...i will pursue this FSW.

Anyway technically there is no law against this so you should be fine....usually if you cant do both there would have been something either on US embassy or Canadian embassy will states if you applied for one you cannot do the other. Since there is no such statement then there nothing wrong exploring the different options out there
