2, the poorest 3 percent in naija eat the same meals as the richest 3 percent in naija. they cook their rice, beans, plantains, eba, all kinds of assorted meat, ewedu, edikanikong, they also drink gulder, star, stout, etc etc. the poorest 3 percent in america do not eat wrhat the richest 3 percent eat. they eat mouldy sammiches that the red cross trucks bring for them at nights, they drink cheap liquors that the rich will never touch, they scavenge for foods in the garbage cans inbetween meals when they want a snack seeing as the redcross trucks only come at certain hours. seriously, you are joking or just ignorant.I grew up in the north and have seen beggars with sores who sleep in the dry cold harmattan outside and hardly eat enough as some poor nigerians dogs.Homeless ppl abound in nigeria, north and south.the other day i gave a beggar hundred naira in lagos and he almost wept.PLEASE IF YOU MUST MAKE AN ARGUEMENT,BE OBJECTIVE!!!! |
my mum is a fashion designer(roadside tailor),she taught herself and has taught many others and she has gone to places like paris amd milan based on her talent.I am an engineer so i understand the importance of theory, but when it comes to sewing it is more arts than theory and you will be better off learning from a GOOD artist one-on-one than from those that know theory with little skills. With a roadside tailor you will learn the basics plus the 'extra' that is reguired for money making. If you are good you are good!!! BTW there are self taught electricians that can teach me a thing or too(class theory can never beat on the job experience) ![]() |
hi guys, I must say i've thoroughly enjoyed this thread so much that i quickly registered with the forum.I think a lot of the comments are well informed and intelligent. However i do have my reservation when some people take it to a personal level. It does leave a sour taste and quite frankly classless if not immature. ![]() In my opinion,Capitalism that is regulated with a strong government presence is ideal. My arguement for this is that while the ideals of capitalism encourages innovation, competition and hard work,it also fuels greed even in the best of men.Interestingly no country practices capitalism in it purest form, for it becomes counter productive.I believe the premise for this post would be the american form of capitalism which seems to have the government get weaker and private enterprise get stronger over time.I read a comment where someone brought up the point of microsoft being stifled at a point or standard oil being broken into parts.I think that is the very role goverment needs to play, yes allow for innovation and growth, but when a company is perceieved to be too "big" or too controlling of an industry too allow competition, then government has to limit it.No system is perfecft in itself it needs tweaking and adjusting along the way.Capitalism definitely gives that poor village boy with a zeal and creative mind the oppurtunity to be "somebody".What about the boy with not so much ability, well there is welfare ![]() truth be told, this is earth and until we get get to heaven, we can not live equally with our different abilities. BTW,THE U.S CATERS FOR POOR PEOPLE WITH HOMELESS SHELTERS AND FOOD STAMPS,IT JUST SEEMS TO BE SHRINKING IN ITS ABILITY TO REGULATE CAPITALISM.gREED THE 'DEVIL IN CAPITALISM ![]() |
