My camon c8 got stolen and I went for gionee m5. I must admit that gionee m5 is a beast compared to tecno camon c8. The battery is something else and multitasking is really cool. Well, here's the deal.
.
We have=2y-alphaX+4=0 which is perpendicular (at 90 degrees) to y+1/4X-7=0
therefore we rearrange them to be in slope intercept form (y=mx+c)
... 2y=alpha X+4
.... y=-1/4X+7
so next we find the gradient of each equation
.... y=alpha/2 X+4 (gradient=alpha/2)
.... y=-1/4X+7 (gradient=-1/4)
so the two gradients are...
M1=alpha/2
M2=-1/4
Remember, the two equations are PERPENDICULAR, that means the product of their gradient is equal to "-1"
.
...So in order to find alpha, we multiply the two gradient and equate dem to -1
... alpha/2*-1/4=-1
= -alpha/8=-1
= cross multiply
= -8= - alpha
= minus cancel minus
= alpha = 8
the final answer is 8
