With degrees in the UK, which Oil and Gas expert are you? in a non recognized Oil producing nation like Ghana? Fool like you can you compare the Oil and Gas sector in Ghana to that of Nigeria. Even 10 billion dollars is about half of Nigeria's annual budget so where did small country Ghana get an annual budget that exceeds 10 billion dollars. I still told one Ghanaian with Moniker called OXYGEN 1 ystdy that Ghana relied on our gas for power supply but he bluffed it off saying, they only buy little from us and it's not free but this report states otherwise saying last year we didn't meet up on the agreement so we paid a compensation of 10million dollars and ever since then we supplied Gas to them even in excess of 140MMscf of Gas and they are owing us 100million Gh cedis and we about to cut them off which will worsen their power situation. So to all Ghanaians here stop bragging, respect Big brother Nigeria, tell your leaders to travel down to Aso Villa with immediate effect to beg my humble President just maybe we might consider you.

my guy this is stale news as a matter of fact Ghana has more gas than it needs as we speak Ghana is producing 150 MM scf/d from its own Jubilee field. that is more than the 120 MM scf/d Ghana was suposed to get from your pathetic country. most of the time you MUMUs supply just about 50 MM scf/d even though you have a contractural obligation to deliver 120 MM scf/d!

The best news is that power supply is back to normal in Ghana!

The power crisis in Ghana is set to worsen in the coming days as Nigeria threatens to cut gas supply to the Aboadze Thermal Plant.

The development has been occasioned by the failure of government to settle its indebtedness to the Nigerian gas authorities.

According to sources within the Power sector, Ghana owes the Nigerian authorities over GHC100million.

Currently, Ghana receives in excess of 140 million standard cubic feet per day of gas from Nigeria. The supply, although not enough, has greatly enhanced power supply in the country over the last few weeks.

Speaking on recent developments in the power sector, a former Chief Executive Officer of the Volta River Authority Dr. Charles Wireku-Brobbey told Accra-based Joy FM that constant power supply in the country is not dependent on the incoming power barges from Turkey.

“The problem for us not the arrival or non-arrival of the power barges. As we speak the government owes Nigeria over GHC100million, which we are yet to settle, and that is the problem that should concern us,” he said.

Guy, I schooled there for 4 years. My sis is still there after 6 years. My brother is also there 2 years now. I know what I'm talking about. My sister is working as a doctor in Ghana she just got her certificate. I just asked her to make sure. I dunno about before but right now there is no provision for cars for doctors. Also what you get after medical school is HOUSE JOB. Not employment. When your tenure is up on house job you are on your own. Ghana has also had power issues for a few years now. Granted their outages are much more organised than in Nigeria but on some months you might not have electricity for 12 hours at a time...

Did I forget to mention.. A few years back Ghana fell upon some huge oil reserves.. They are currently producing close to 500,000Barrels per day of oil.. Thats about a quarter of what Nigeria produces.. And for a population 8 times smaller than Nigeria.. The benefits of that oil boom should be felt twice as much by Ghanaians than anything government can do for Nigeria. Yet nothing has changed in Ghana.

GDP per capita for Nigeria is almost twice that of Ghana.. Forget what you see on the outside.. Ghana isn't as sweet as to you think..
