Kevsman: recruits are applicants that are still undergoing training, but ones they pass out, they become soldiers, airmen/women, and seamen. Use your head If that's what you are saying, then I will tell u that it is u that need to use ur head. Ratings under training in the navy are not called recruits either, they are called trainees while those of the army and airforce are called recruits. So, use ur head pls. |

melejo: Oga madam, there is no how you will compare the east with the north in academics. Have you been to the north before? I served in the North. Going by what Op wrote comparing East and North in education is like comparing England with Niger republic in Queens English U mean teaching English with Igbo in a secondary school? What is d difference? Let me tell you, I served in the east also. A science class (ss3) of 64 students, no one, I mean, not even one could state any of the Newton's laws of motion. I repeat, what's the difference? On public exams results, we know how the roll with miracle centres. Abeg leave mata jawe. See signboard in a place comparable with England

Because the uneducated ladies are submissive (a requirement for successful marriages in Africa) While the educated ones drag the leadership of the family with their husbands in the name of gender equality. |

omenkaLives: Just negodu.
These ones, we go see their names, their faces, maybe the names of their ancestors sef. But if it were some public servant who stole hundreds of billions, mentioning their first names alone would be TABOO, let alone adding their photographs
We'd be told they remain innocent until proven guilty by a court of competent jurisdiction, and as such, their identities cant be revealed- pray tell, which court convicted these ones?
Dont get me wrong, i condemn their acts of criminality, but at the same time, i desire to see the same, or even worse treatment, given the bigger crooks amongst us- our super corrupt politicians. Absolutely correct. But even at that, u will still notice some youths who should advocate for this are still the ones bleating upandan (even on nl) making some funny noise calling 'witchunting' as if those being 'witchunted' are innocent. |

dfrost: I salute your writeup and the person you quoted. I guess this is one of the ills of social media. Everyone wants to be in the limelight. Bro, that's the plain truth but me and some of my fellow "bloody civilians" think being in the military is similar to being a banker or any other civil work, for whom social media is made. |
Romance › Re: Pre-Wedding Photos Of A Female Soldier And A Naval Personnel by kabrud: 6:40am On Feb 24, 2017 |
dfrost: A soldier is one who fights as part of an organised, land-based armed force. A soldier can be an enlisted person, a non-commissioned officer, or an officer.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soldier From the emboldened, a soldier belongs to the army (not navy or Airforce) Commissioned Officers in the armed forces are simply called officers not soldiers. Get good dictionary pls. Or better still, google "officer" and out of the several meanings, check the one related to the military. |

azimibraun: Civilianizing our Military ain't cool. It's a very tough line of argument to take but I am danm sure as human as they are, their line of Job does make them a bit sacrificial. This to me is unnecessary exposure for people with special training and special job to do. The mere telling both officers in the line of duty( not necessarily war) that " wow! Ur pre-wedding pics were cool" could hit his emotions and affect his judgment. Something made them Military and our celebrities an regular citizens not. But if they begin to cross those lines, I can assure you conflict and lose of relevance will set in. If they must do some of these stuff it should be in dedicated military platforms. Like their own whattsapp group or something. This is too public for Men and Women in uniform. I must salute ur courage for initiating this line of argument at the risk of being labelled inhuman, wicked and all that. Certainly, I'm damn sure some will start asking things like "are they not human"? Whatever criticism against this nice piece in this direction will only be justified if it can provide sufficient reason against the emboldened. The emboldened is just the simple truth. I'm of the opinion that if a military personnel wants to enjoy civil social life, he should, but military and whatsoever associated with it should be kept out of it. The respect which the military commands is gradually being eroded by this "civilianisation". |

Dunsin89: . Yes, he is correct. Any member in the armed forces (be it Army, Navy or Airforce) is a soldier. But am a little confused of something oh, Sebi dem talk sae Soldiers ain't allowed to marry each other? Abi the rules don change ni? Wrong! wrong!! wrong!!! Recruits in the army........soldiers Recruits in the airforce......airmen/airwomen Recruits in the navy...........ratings. Commissioned Officers in the armed forces (navy, army and airforce) are simply called officers. Marriage, I don't know but what I think is not allowed is between officers and recruits, my thought tho. |
