Chief Onyido has been crowned the fifth Igwe of Ogidi. Being the first Igwe outside the Amobi family, he took on the sobriquet the Ezechuamuagha 1 of Ogidi.

And as if that is not enough, he has celebrated his first ofala on 29th of december 2017. And it was a huge success.

It was cream de cream of our society that graced the occasion, first class traditional rulers, politicians, captains of industries etc.

Despite the fact that petrol is a scarce commodity, dignitaries made it all the way from far flown areas of our dear country!

To God be the glory and may the newly crown Igwe live long. We wish him blissful and successful tenure!

Now who will ever believe that such epoch will come to pass? Definitely not cynics among us whose sing song was A GA EJI OJOKO WEE CHI?

If men were God! It has happened and it is marvellous in our eyes! For God has spoken, who will contend?

Voting going on, in my polling unit ogidi in idemili North local government area of anambra state.

Okada people, ndi nsukka and ndi abakalake hv decided to boycott the election. I can see them at the nearest beer parlor drinking and laughing. It's alright . it's only the indigenous people, civil servants, pensioner and enlightened that are voting.

Issorite ndi nsukka na abakalake jisie nu Ike but one thing I know for sure is that u guys won't spoil our beloved anambra for us we have come a long way to be where we are today..

If tomorrow the governor elect decided to put some measures( banning Okada) and other unfavorable policy don't complain.

I saw a video of Apc gubernatorial candidates campaign trending online. He was shouting "obiano bu onye ohi" obiano is a thief, he stole 200 billion.

Hon Tony nwoye is a member representing anambra East/West in the national assembly, former PDP chairman in anambra state. Anambra East and West which comprises of numerous communities such as Aguleri, Anam, nzam, innoma, Nsugbe, igbokenyi, igbakwu etc, is one of the least developed local government in anambra state.

Since 2015, Hon Tony nwoye had been collecting constituency allowance but there is nothing to show of it. Not even a borehole or wheelbarrow. This is an area with the highest rate of poverty in anambra state many out of school children and many unemployed youth.


When flood was ravaging his constituency in 2016, where was he? He was spotted in nzam yesterday for the first time since 2015 talking rubbish..

Let's x-ray the people of igbokenyi in anambra East..

Travelling to Igbokenyi is quite an ordeal. From Onitsha, Anambra State, you board a boat to Illah in Delta State, from where you trek to the neglected Igala-speaking, rustic community. But NWANOSIKE ONU reports that things may have started to change



Their only road to the outside world is a narrow path, flooded in the rainy season and overgrown in the hot period. On it, residents of Igbokenyi in Anambra West Local Government Area of the state march to Illah in Delta State where they board a boat on the bank of River Niger. At the end of their trip outside, they march back on the same path to their rustic community of perhaps over 100,000 people.

Their resilience is as remarkable as their peculiarities. They speak Igala language of Kogi State, with whom they have a boundary. But they are in Anambra, though quartered on the Delta end of the Niger, and speak smattering Igbo.

There is no primary school in Igbokenyi there is hardly anything else bearing a modern mark, except perhaps the clothes the people wear. No paved road. No secondary school. No hospital. And no fond memories from any government of any stripe.

Their mud shelters are hardly better than what their forebears bequeathed to them. It is rare to see any fair-skinned person, the reason for which is hard to see.

The people know what suffering is like. The only thing they say they do not know is why they are where they are, and why no one seems to care whether they live or die.

They have no pipe-borne water, and perhaps count themselves lucky to, at least, have the great Niger to draw from and wash in.

The visitor to Igbokenyi gets to Illah first, by boat from Onitsha, Anambra State, or Asaba, Delta State. From Illah, you walk, as the residents do, on that bush path, to Igbokenyi. It is not the pleasant of journeys, but that is the lot of the residents, and the visitor must also put up with it.

The people are in agony. All they have is mud houses like in the ancient times.

The only source of making ends meet in the area is farming.

Even their farm products are always difficult to transport outside the area because of lack of transportation means, except through the River to the cities.

But during one of his tours to some churches round the state months back, a philanthropist in the state from Umuchu community, Mr. Godwin Ezeemo, who wept seeing such backwardness, told the Anglican Church in the area that he would provide boats to ease their transportation problems.

Nonsense.. Oga Tony nwoye's constituency is the poorest in Nigeria. No health care, no water, no roads, no light. The only access road to nzam is through ilah in Delta state.

Where is 45 million he is collecting every year on their behalf in the national assembly. He last visited them in 2015 when he was campaigning for votes...

Tony nwoye is not a medical Doctor..
Medical profession is a Nobel profession. If I see one I will know. Can you show me one hospital where he practiced or did his interns. I can't believe that he spent 7 to 8 years in medical school graduate and go off to main market. Without practicing for a single day.

He was rusticated from UNN medical school on cult related activities... And he branched off to EBSU where he was rusticated again..

He was one of those that Chris Ubah used to terrorise anambra in 2003..he is a thug..

. Tony nwoye is not a graduate talk less of being a medical doctor.

Mr Tony Nwoye was a former Medical student at the University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus (UNEC). He dropped out in year three. Available information is that he was rusticated by the school authorities for cult activities. Mr Nwoye is a member of the notorious student cult organization.

However, another source told elombah.com "Comrade Tony Nwoye is not a graduate. He dropped out from Medical school in UNEC after failing first MB three times".

Upon being sent packing from UNEC, he ran to the College of Medicine, Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki to continue his quest for medical studies.

Tony Nwoye should be in the best position to inform all why he withdrew. Was it for personal reasons, or did he fail his 2nd/3rd MB or was he involved in school cultism?

ANAMBRA , perhaps more than any other state in Nigeria, has been notorious with political godfatherism. The influx of money in Anambra politics by the trio of Andy Ubah, Chris Ubah and Emeka Offor in 2003 and the subsequent kidnap of the then Governor Chris Ngige set a dangerous precedent in the history of godfatherism in Nigeria. Hoodlums sponsored by these godfathers burnt government buildings including ABS radio and TV stations when Chris Ngige rejected to mortgage the soul of the state to them. Our own Chinua Achebe later qualified these godfathers as politicians with plenty of money but very low IQ.


The November 2017 governorship election in the state has once more raised serious questions about the damaging effect of godfatherism and the unfair use of federal government resources by governing political parties to gain an advantage over their opponents. The allegations that the current APC governorship candidate, Tony Nwoye, was chosen by moneyed interests, Arthur Eze and Orji Kalu, is not only troubling but dangerous.

I have kept my ears to the ground and I have heard the sound of black ant. Here is how we got Tony Nwoye as the APC candidate for November election:

Orji Uzor Kalu was given the mandate to deliver southeastern Nigeria to APC in preparation for the realignment of forces in the 2019 presidential election. The reward is that his charges with EFCC will be dragged out forever. At the same time, he was promised numerous federal government contracts and a say in who becomes the APC Presidential candidate in 2023.

He has so far “delivered” on the initial goal of pulling in some “prominent” Igbo politicians to APC including Ken Nnamani, Sullivan Chime, Jim Nwobodo, Andy Ubah, Chief Arthur Eze, Chuma Nzeribe etc. In return for this, he was giving the freehand to pick the APC Governorship candidate in Anambra State. He subsequently “dashed” that right to Chief Arthur Eze, who is an uncle to his wife. Now, the vultures are once more hovering over the state, waiting to devour our commonwealth, should Tony Nwoye win.

So, yes, you should be terrified about the possibility of Tony Nwoye becoming Anambra State Governor. Anambra State should not, according to Chinua Achebe, be turned into "a bankrupt and lawless fiefdom." Orji Kalu cannot give Ndi Anambra anything good. He turned Abia State to a wasteland. He gave Abia State the worst governor in forth Republic in the person of Theodore Orji. Ndi Anambra should, therefore, let Orji Uzor Kalu know that we are not Abia State.

In a Facebook message on why he joined APC, Orji Uzor Kalu said that “President Muhammadu Buhari personally promised me that all the contractors in the South East will return to sites before the end of November. I joined the APC because President Buhari has fulfilled the promise he made to me and we are hopeful he will do more.”

While we await the completion of these projects and not just “returning to site”, Mr. President has done more for Orji Uzor Kalu including the award of several Federal Road contracts to his construction firm SLOK Holding. Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) recently awarded and funded SLOK Holdings to reconstruct the Umuahia-Uzuakoli federal road as well as Uzuakoli-Ozuitem road. Does that qualify as a legitimate reward for the failed gamble at taming Nnamdi and netting some former PDP politician to APC in the southeast?

The reason why I deem it fit to provide this information to Anambra State electorate is my conviction that it is vital to the efficient functioning of the marketplace of ideas, and advancement of the democratic process in my state. My concern here is that because the federal government spending unlimited amount of funds, they are overly influencing elections and damaging the integrity of the democratic process.

Even though I agree with Orji Uzor Kalu that “it is better for the Igbos to sit where other Nigerians are sitting”, Ndi Anambra will not sale our state to APC, Uzor Kalu, Arthur Eze and Andy

Abada business indeed, how many roads did dey asphalt with the Abada business. All roads in alor were built by ngige with anambra money. 80% of the roads ngige did are in idemili. That's why idemili is his strong hold, which enables him to became a senator under ACN. Go and do ur research, am from idemili too.

... If you know how we start our journey from 1999 to this present day. U will understand what am saying. During the Era of chinwoke mbadinuju, Anambra was in deep mess. Schools were closed for 13 months. I was in jss 1 then. Bad roads everywhere.
Civil servants were owned salaries and allowances. Armed robbery, kidnapping. It's not that the state is not getting its share from federation account but the governor is busy servicing his godfathers.

Then ngige came on board through stolen mandate. He decided to work, constructed many roads but the godfatherism won't allow him. They drag him to okija shrine, set the government house, state properties on fire and even kidnapping him..

.. Finally Peter obi arrived, God answered our prayers. Schools were built, we became the best in waec... If u look around u will see it.

35 roads in one town.. Is the town a local government.? . No town is big to have a 35 roads in it. Even onitsha inland town don't have such.. Truly obiano constructed roads in aguleri but not that 35. Aguleri is a town not a local government.

First and foremost aguleri is in anambra not in kogi. It's a welcome development. Rochas is even building a private University in his village with ego ndi imo..

Nobody knw of Alor till Chris Ngige became the governor of anambra state. He constructed all roads in alor, even the Bush paths and apian way. He even tried relocating anambra state University from uli to alor. It took the intervention of the state house assembly to stop him.

Those shouting no election don't even know where anambra is situated. If you are in the state and witness the previous administrations. You will know that the state is on path of greatness. The progress is there for everyone to see.

On November 18, we will troop out to vote for the best candidate. boycotting the election will do us more harm than Good.

What you must know is that, on November 18 a winner must emerge and we must not give APC room to rig in their puppet and watch what we have laboured for the past years to be in vain.
