Politics › Re: The Goodluck Jonathan/Akinwunmi Ambode Hoax by kafeii123: 11:14am On May 17 |
seunmsg: The Fulanis understand politics far more than a lot of you. They can’t back Jonathan for any reason. The core element of Northern political elites just want power back to the north. If they can’t get it in 2027, they will only support Tinubu to get it and no one else.
Jonathan is a wounded snake with so much people to deal with if he ever gets back to power. He’s not an option at all. Beside, the core north alone cannot give him power. With Tinubu and Obi on the ballot, he can only win Bayelsa conveniently in the south since the PDP structure that supported him before is dead. So, head or tail, he’s going to lose. So, he’s better off respecting his age and staying far away from the contest. Jonathan is not a wounded snake. He was a naive president and definitely deserves another shot. But not at this time. That will be in 2031/2034 if he is still interested..but...he can definitely start grooming someone or some.guys.and placing them in strategic places in the nation ahead of then. Not like Obi who only has his name to rely on. I dont see any chance for amaechi/wike either...I am sure new and better faces will soon begin to appear for the south south |
Politics › Re: Jonathan Presidential Ambition Puts Peter Obi's Chances In Jeopardy by kafeii123: 11:10am On May 17 |
AbosedeFalade: It's either that most of you do not have Wifi to watch first-hand Goodluck Jonathan's response or you lack comprehension. He indirectly made it clear that he will not run, because contesting for the Nigerian presidency is not like a computer game. And as he rightly stated too, if closely watch, more than half of the people who came to urge him to run do not have voters card. So, he diplomatically decline to run without saying so outright, but instead by promising to consult widely. There is nothing he can do with less than 24 days left for political parties to conclusively elect their candidates for the elections. Even if thry had voters cards..they cannot defend votes...and the inec of today ...is in APC's pocket...they may leave some states and senatorial districts for opposition to win..but APC will still be the majority party after 2027 elections |
Politics › Re: Tinubu’s Baffling Northern Exclusion Strategy- Farooq Kperogi by kafeii123: 10:56am On May 17 |
ElevationD: I do not see the reason for the complain by Mr. Farouk Kperoogi.
We were all witnesses to the uncontrolled channeling of major projects to the north during Buhari’s regime. That government, perhaps with nothing to do with public funds, routed a rail line to Maradi in Niger, passing through Buhari’s town. He ensured that very crucial projects were cited in his town, using public resources. While railway lines do not traverse Rivers state, Rotimi Amaechi, the then transport minister, ensured that the standard gauge passed through Daura, not caring about Rivers state. He did nothing about ports in Rivers state, as the minister.
The ratio of projects between the north and the south was unashamedly biased in favour of the north during Buhari’s government.
GEJ was hounded out of office by the combination of Tinubu, Atiku, Kwakwanso, El Rufai, Soyinka, etc. GEJ as a Southern President largely focused more projects in the north. His own community in Bayelsa was left undone by him, making him unpopular in his area.
How do you want to blame BAT, who knows that there is an unwritten agreement that allows political office holders to develop their zones when they are in power. That’s the principal reason behind rotation of power. When power is within your zone, use it to develop your zone, as the next man will fix his own zone. By this way, no area is left undeveloped. That’s what you find with Governors and members of the Federal and state assemblies. Corruption hinders many of them from fixing their areas. When they are out of power they lament.
However, while they face their areas, they must also carry out projects in other zones in an agreed ratio or percentage. Governors use the opportunity to fix their senatorial zones while a certain percentage of total projects is allocated to other senatorial zones, to create an impression of balance.
The south cannot continue to be fooled by the antics of certain northern leaders, who claim that they are marginalized. If GEJ focused a little on the South, he probably would have enjoyed his second term.
I do not in anyway blame BAT. It is the opportunity of the south and he is from the South west. He must make use of it. When it gets to the north again, they should fix theirs. Next time when power gets to the south, particularly the SE, no one should complain if the leader focuses on the region more.
Unfortunately for the northern leadership, corruption is the challenge. Rather than fix education, they support the Almajiri system and keep their people in poverty. Thank you o....they love obj because he let them do as thdy liked...didnt even do anything in his own hometown or state throughout the period he ruled....Abeokuta and Sango people abuse Obj till date because they gained nothing from him being president. GEJ's own was worse..he was weak and was literally begging them throughout his tenure..didnt do anything sensible in his time either...bayelsa people and the entire south south havent really gained much from gej being s president. But when northerners get in....the reverse is always the case. They will mismanage the economy and still use their people to wreak havoc. Tinubu is the best man for the job..in fact i pray the next president be a north central....or north eastern. Followed by a south south...then a south eastern. |

galantjoe: $79,000 is above N100 million where 1 US dollar equal to N1500.
If One doesn't want to invest such huge sum of money in a business especially where he or she doesn't have adequate know-how and or to avoid falling into dubious and unscrupulous business partners; he or she can invest such money in mutual funds. He/she can invest parts in money money mutual fund and dollar mutual funds while other parts in equity mutual funds. These funds have experts in form of investment bankers who use their expertise in making profit above inflationary rate.
Currently money market mutual funds pay interest at overage 18% per annum compounding while equity funds are at 80% per annum
If I have such money or even 10th part of the money I would do and invest at what financial experts called PERPETUITY
I will use interest gains from perpetuity fund to live my life while principal will remain intact while growing progressively. Unfortunately..you cannot have that kimd of money..because it wont be given to you youtself. It goes to the u iversityqho then.take about 60% of it for your tuition. The rest..they give.to u in piecemeals every week |

Incognito403: Sounds like a Dapo Abiodun problem. If it was Dapo Abiodun's personal money he was spending in this manner..then yes...but it unfortunately is not the case here. But there's nothing to say that any other ogun governor wont do the same craziness...so i think they'll all be fine. Give it the next 50years. And the leaders then will hopefully have better thinking styles. Just that they'll look back on this generation and likely curse anyone they can trace their ancestry to these ones for the unneeded hardship they got put in.. |

But who cares? Wailers can keep wailing. The sonorous sound of their wailing is more pleasant to us than any orchestra in the world! The hundreds and millions that Dapo Abiodun will later claim to have spent on thsi jamboree will be better if parts of it was spent on renovating one of the plenty moribund and dilapidated public schools in the state. It becomes more annoying when you consider the combined amount the nation has wasted in this manner...hajj..jerusalem.....yet 50billion children out of school |

SmartPolician: Ogun State governors have been some of the worst in Nigeria!
In 2019, a friend who lived and worked in Ota invited me to his house. I travelled from Lagos and realised that the expressway connecting Lagos to Ota was horrible.
My friend said that Winners Chapel opted to fix the road but the government insisted that the church must pay a certain amount before it's allowed to fix it.
Consequently, the church abandoned it. This should be a major highway connecting two important states. After plying that deplorable road, I swore never to visit there again. I think it had something to do with zoning..that road you refer to is now being repaired. |

When faced with the situation where death is sure whether or not you say the truth, It is better to say the truth and die.
Then your death will be akin to matyrdom. Wale Edun is a technocrat. Technocrats are not like civil servants, as such, you dont expect them to share unverifiable claims.
This is whaz Wale Edun has repeatedly done. Man wont allow any lie be made in his name.
His salary as a Finance minister is pittance compared to what he stands to lose, if he allows politicians to rubbish his work.
I am happy he stuck to truth instead. And pushed to uphold tge common man.
I knew he'd sooon be leaving, once i heard of him rejecting imf loan....money that many abuja goons are already waiting to share. I knew he'd soon have to leave.
Doesn't mean he's right tho... but this behaviour is exactly what d bad onesd an̈trust southern nigerians for...doing all our best to save d naira....pay back our loans..reject bad loans..only for them to come in and destroy all those macroeconomic gains and print money and boost inlflation upwards....let a yes man come in..then. release funds to contractors, some of which will gin their waxs into the pockets of this politicians. So Edun decided to let all citizens experience succour. Rather than feeding politicians.
Lol...turns out..i said it earlier..lol[img][/img]

Now, what exactly is the problem with these people?
The money wey dem wan embezzle from the project is their main focus, nothing more...
In the next 15 years, this mumu project will still remain uncompleted... Akpabio has been accused many times to have a Grab-it-all attitude from way back.
