khaite23:Usually resolves on its own within 2 days to couple of weeks without treatment. The following have been proven to help with spinal headache. Bed rest for at least 24-48hours preferably on your back, hydration ( lot of water), drinks high in caffeine( very cold coke ) and ibucap tablet. If headache is getting worse, talk to your provider. Hope this helps One love always www.instagram.com/nursekhaphie_hub |
bukit05:Congratulations mama, your baby is so cute.. Thank God for His mercies |
rvpbae:There is high possibility that your baby is going through colic. Colic in babies are predictable periods of significant distress in an otherwise well-fed, healthy baby. Some experts believe that colic is the result of an allergy to cow's milk proteins (or lactose intolerance) in formula-fed babies. More rarely, colic may be a reaction to specific foods in Mom's diet in breastfed babies. Either way, these allergies or sensitivity can cause tummy pain that may set off colicky behavior. Features of colic may include the following: Intense crying that may seem more like screaming or an expression of pain. Crying for no apparent reason, unlike crying to express hunger or the need for a diaper change. Extreme fussiness even after crying has diminished. To help with colic, Lay your baby on his/her back in a dark, quiet room, burp after each feed, tummy time is encouraged, swaddle your baby snugly in a blanket, Lay across your lap and gently rub the back, you can also try infant massage, put warm water bottle or towel on your baby's belly, baby can suck on pacifier and a warm bath helps too. Every baby has 2 fontanelles and they are normal. If you run your fingers gently over your newborn's head, you may feel a couple of soft spots instead of bone. These soft spots, where your baby's skull bones haven't fused together, are called fontanelles. They are a part of normal development. The fontanelle on the back of the head usually disappears by 1 to 2 months of age. You may never be able to feel or see this one. The one on the top of the head remains present until your baby is between 7 and 19 months old. A baby's soft spots should be relatively firm and curve ever so slightly inward. Kindly explain to mama with love, don’t compare your baby to your neighbor’s own, they are different . My boys have terrible colic episodes unlike my girl. Hope this helps www.instagram.com/nursekhaphie_hub |
MummyD2020:Extra blood in pregnancy results in a heart rate that is about 25 percent faster than usual. A faster heart rate can result in occasional heart palpitations. These feel like your heart is fluttering or beating extremely fast. Heart palpitations can be normal and nonharmful during pregnancy. You can try relaxation techniques as stress can trigger or worsen heart palpitations, Dehydration can cause heart palpitations, increase your fluids intake, avoid carbonated drinks and caffeine and be compliant with your prenatal vitamins. You may find it helpful to write down when you experience the palpitations to see if you can identify a trigger. Keeping a log may also be useful if you experience more palpitations over time. You can take this information to your provider at future appointments. If your provider identifies a cause for your palpitations, they may recommend treatment. Hope this helps One love always www.instagram.com/nursekhaphie_hub |

adet991:Ferrous sulphate is iron tablet, try to take the antacid two hours before or after the iron tablet. It reduces the absorption on iron and don’t forget the vitamin c or citrus juice . You can try other sources if beans and Vegetable give you diarrhea. It will end in praise One love always www.instagram.com/nursekhaphie_hub |
adet991:I don’t know about the leaf, I am sure mamas that have used it will soon answer the questions. Did your provider give you iron tablets? While on iron tablet, it is advisable you use it with vitamin c to increase absorption . Do not take iron tablet with milk, caffeine, antacids, or calcium supplements. it decreases the absorption. You can take them 2 hours before or after your iron tablets. Food nutrients to help with blood counts are red meat, such as beef, organ meat such as kidney and liver, dark, leafy vegetables, egg yolks and beans. Hope this helps http://www.instagram.com/nursekhaphie_hub |
Tinudesi:Doing a malaria parasite test won’t hurt, how far along are you. Kindly register for your prenatal visits as soon as possible. www.instagram.com/nursekhaphie_hub |
Tinudesi:A change in your sense of taste during pregnancy likely is caused by pregnancy hormones. It may cause you to hate a food that you normally love, or enjoy foods you normally dislike. Sometimes it can cause a sour or metallic taste in your mouth, even if you're not eating anything. Commonly occurs in the first trimester and usually goes away as the pregnancy progresses. Good Oral hygiene can also go a long way in keeping bad tastes at bay and keeping your gums and teeth healthy Other ways include taking sugar-free mints or chewing sugarless gum, eating colder items such as ice chips and ice pops, snacking on saltine crackers to dull any metal tastes, eating spicy foods to numb weird tastes consuming sour foods and beverages, such as green apple and drinking citrus juices. Like many other pregnancy symptoms, It will eventually go away on its own but if you can’t stand the taste, discuss dietary changes and other remedies with your doctor. This is especially important if the taste is so bad that you’re having trouble eating. Hope this helps www.instagram.com/nursekhaphie_hub |
Rhemy2013:Welcome back mama.. wishing you an uneventful pregnancy and safe delivery |
threegees:Glad to help mama. God bless you too.. |
threegees:The pressure of your growing womb can also affect the blood flow in your legs. This can cause fluid to build up in your legs, ankles and feet. As long as all your parameters are good ( blood pressure and urine tests) and it doesn’t affect just one leg and no associated redness, pain or warmth, you have nothing to worry about. Sure ways to reduce swelling are to reduce your salt intake, reduce your caffeine, continue your water intake , elevate your feet when you sit and when sleeping, don’t sit too long in a place, wear loose and comfortable clothing and foot wears. Hope this helps www.instagram.com/nursekhaphie_hub |
bilsworld61:So sorry for your loss mama.. God will grant your double for your loss.. Please take heart abd trust in Him .. big virtual hug |
Brownishshuga:Please you have nothing to cry about from the scan result. Protein in urine and high blood pressure is preeclampsia in pregnancy. It affects about 2-8% of pregnancy worldwide. There may be no symptoms. High blood pressure and protein in the urine are key features. There may also be swelling in the legs and water retention, but this can be hard to distinguish from normal pregnancy. Pre-eclampsia can often be managed with oral or IV medications until the baby is sufficiently mature to be delivered and often requires weighing the risks of early delivery versus the risks of continued pre-eclampsia symptoms. If left untreated, it may result in seizures at which point it is known as eclampsia. Please rest as much as you can, reduce your salt intake, increase your fruits and vegetable intake. Follow your provider’s order and be compliant with medications prescribed when done. I recently wrote a post about pregnancy induced hypertension on my IG page, feel free to read it and send a DM for concerns or clarification. www.instagram.com/nursekhaphie_hub Hope this helps |
bimberry1307:What drugs did they give to you? You only need the penicillin or olive oil . Your baby might be in pain, you can give some paracetamol. Please change the diaper frequently to avoid stool touching the circumcised penis Hope this helps |
cheeketo:Hemorrhoids are common and affects almost half of all pregnant women. It can also occur after delivery as a result of pushing during labor. Pressure from the enlarging uterus can cause the vein in the rectal wall to swell, bulge or itch and can be complicated by constipation. Your high blood pressure could be a contributing factor too. Make sure to drink lot of water to avoid constipation, ensure adequate rest ,increase your fluid and vegetables intake, sleep on your side, don’t sit or stand for too long, do pelvic floor exercises. To push it in, take a warm bath and lubricate with Vaseline, sheabutter(Ori) or coconut oil to push it. It might be uncomfortable but once it’s in, you will feel relief however if it’s very big or you experience any bleeding, you need to talk to your provider about treatment for hemorrhoids I usually just push mine in and it’s fine. Most times, don’t wait it out, push in as soon as it comes out and it helps. hemorrhoids relief cream sold at the pharmacy have some numbing effects to take care of the pain. Hope this helps Read about my post on PIH on my Instagram page and feel free to DM with any questions or clarification. www.instagram.com/nursekhaphie_hub |
juola:With bed rest the risk of excessive weight gain is high making women on bed rest more prone to gestational diabetes. Ways to go about it is to get involved with minimal physical activities by moving what you can of your body, stretching what you can with the permission of your provider, ensure you are well hydrated, monitor what you eat and stay comfortable . Hope this helps |
sugah:Thank you sis. I am doing good.. Sure I will be willing to work with the time difference as possible and will work on collaborating with other professionals to help too like pediatricians and lactation specialists. One love sis |
cheeketo:Hi mama, how are you and the little one doing? I take it that you are talking about pregnancy induced hypertension.(PIH) For you not to be given any medication for it so far, it must be the mild one and that’s good news. I don’t know about the corn silk and guava leaves for the management but most times PIH resolves after delivery and the swelling goes down gradually. Please ensure you eat healthy, rest well( with great emphasis), monitor the blood pressure closely and your urine output too. Don’t hesitate to ask for help, don’t feel guilty about it and talk to your provider in case of any uncertainty. My post today on my IG page is on PIH, kindly check it out. www.instagram.com/nursekhaphie_hub My DM is open if you have any questions |
sugah:Thank you sis, I just did. How are you and the LOs.. One love always Hope this helps My IG handle is www.instagram.com/nursekhaphie_hub and my DM is always open. |
sugah:My name is Kafayat and most people especially the old mamas know me by Nurse Kaffy. I am a proud mama of 4 and I had gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) with my last baby. As the name implies it is high blood sugar in pregnancy in a woman with no previous history of diabetes and mostly diagnosed between 24-28weeks through a blood test after a glucose drink has been given. It is believed to resolve after delivery but can proceed to type 2 diabetes mellitus if not well managed. Risk factors include: family history of diabetes ( in my case , my dad is diabetic), previous history of a baby more than 4kg( I had a 4.2kg baby), African descent( I am a proud African woman), previous history of gestational diabetes in pregnancy , over weight/obesity . Symptoms: mostly GDM has no symptoms but could be suspected with sugar in your urine during urine testing, excessive hunger, excessive thirst, or fatigue and frequent urination or recurring yeast infection. Diagnosis: it is diagnosed through glucose challenge test and oral glucose tolerance test. A positive glucose challenge test will require an oral glucose tolerance test for confirmation. The test will reveal how your body make use of glucose. You will be given a glucose drink to take and your blood sample will be taken after an hour for glucose challenge and no fasting is required. For oral glucose tolerance test, about 8 hours of fasting is required before the test, sample will be taken before the glucose drink is given and after 1hr, 2hrs and 3hrs. Your provider will tell you what your result is. Management: it’s managed mainly with diet and life style modification but if no changes, you might be placed on oral drugs or insulin to manage it. More frequent prenatal visit and baby’s growth will be monitored. Effect on baby and mother: Your baby is prone to over weight, low blood sugar after birth, jaundice, birth defects, premature birth, still birth and type 2 diabetes in future. The mother is at risk for CS, type 2 diabetes mellitus post delivery. Gestational diabetes is no joke, it is something you think about at every minutes considering you are pregnant, good prenatal care and compliance with treatment regimen goes a long way in preventing complications. Mine went away post delivery but I am not taking chances with my healthy life styles as I am more prone to type 2 DM giving my history and risk factors I discussed it recently on my page and working in releasing the video of my GDM story. Follow my page on IG www.instagram.com/nursekhaphie_hub for more pregnancy, delivery and post partum support |
Brownishshuga:Please don’t abandon your prenatal vitamins even if it’s just the folic acid. It so tiny that you can swallow without water. Have you tried dry crackers or notice when your body tolerate foods. There’s always that time of the day though it varies with individual. And just go with the flow of what is tolerated for now, this phase will soon pass. Big virtual hug You can read about morning sickness on my page on IG. Some tested and trusted ways are discussed For more pregnancy, delivery and postpartum support, kindly follow my page on IG : www.instagram.com/nursekhaphie_hub My DM is always open |
Janella29:You are most likely experiencing a pelvic organ prolapse which could be your vaginal or uterus. Do you feel like there is a lump at the opening of the vagina, a sensation of heaviness or pressure in the pelvis or you feel like you are “sitting on a ball” and a achy pain in your lower back that gets better when you lie down. You will need to go talk to your provider because it has happened before and the pelvic floor muscles get weaker with childbirth. You might need an estrogen replacement or a pessary to keep it in place. It can be prevented by doing the following during pregnancy and following child birth: Perform Kegel exercises to strengthen pelvic muscles Avoid constipation by eating high-fiber foods and drinking plenty of fluids. Avoid bearing down to move your bowels. Avoid heavy lifting. Control coughing. Lose weight if you're overweight or obese. Hope this helps, one love always For more pregnancy, delivery and postpartum support, kindly follow my page on IG : www.instagram.com/nursekhaphie_hub My DM is open to talk always |
Limahgirl:There are hidden reasons why you might be gaining weight while breastfeeding, which is of course dissapointing and very frustrating. Especially when you seems to be doing everything right then you see all these women proclaiming their easy-peasy weight loss, and it makes for one giant stress ball. Gaining weight while breastfeeding is more common than you feel, and understanding the hidden reasons behind the weight gain, or lack of weight loss, can really help you feel less-stressed. What you can do right away is focus on every meal and snack you consume and make sure they are breastfeeding supportive not just counting calories. Please do not skip meals, starve yourself or work out so hard to break yourself. You need more of fruits, vegetables, clean and lean protein sources, nuts, a few grains like oatmeal and some beans. What will happen when you add in more nutrients, your body will feel like it is safe, and it will let go of fat. Sometimes stress makes us gain weight too and our body store fats to be used as energy and calories. Don’t forget to incorporate exercises too. I also gain weight while breastfeeding, I watch what I eat and loose them when I wean my babies. Hope this helps.. One love always |
