@GAF
I have not said the story is true or not. What I have simply done is to share what was sent to me.
This was at the beginning: "This is a true story of something that happened just a few years ago at USC." [Emphasis mine]

Anyways, everybody is entitled to his/her own opinion.

I rest my case.
Indeed. I have to wonder though whether Christians truly believe that stories like this help their report in anyway.

I didn't get a chance to commend you on the imaginative title you've assigned to me. Kudos.

So what makes you an authority on what is true or not ?
You think the story you posted is true?

debosky:
why wouldn't you recommend RB's books?
With all due respect to Mz. Brown, they are full of shit. And yes, I read them.

Can you just name the best christian book you ever read and that you will which to recommend to others.
you can even discuss what is all about, remain bless in Jesus name.
A few I remember enjoying and would have recommended under different circumstances: The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis; Bunyan's [u]Pilgrim's Progress[/b];. I'll try to remember the names of a few more.

Ones I wouldn't recommend: Rebecca Brown's books.

can someone just tell me about Yongi Cho's "FOURTH DIMENSION"
From what I remember it's a pretty decent read: good narrative, engaging and informative - especially if you're into the whole Jesus/faith in unseen/prosperity thing.

@GAF :

If you patiently go through my post, I have stated in the first line that I was only sharing with fellow Nairalanders what was sent to me.

Please do not personalise this.
In my opinion, the fact that you chose to pass on a story that is so obviously not true but claims to be true implicates you to a certain degree. To then refrain from acknowledging it, makes it worse.

Just got this today, and said to share it.

Enjoy

,

This is a true story of something that happened just a few years ago at USC.
That's an outright lie. Stop lying for God. It's not clever and it only prevents people from taking Christians seriously.

muhsin:
@Aproko,
In my own narrow perception and comprehension, I think there are numerous ways which the existance of God can be proven. ie
Asking vague questions and relying on gaps in knowledge aren't evidence for a supernatural being.

Think of water/rain; who does control its falling?
Nobody, although to a certain extent, the actions of human beings may affect the rate and intesity of rainfall

Trees or rather plants, how are they growing?
Biological and chemical processes that I'm allowed to be vague about.

Think of life and death, who could do such or provide 'em?
Life: it's usually provided by other life forms. Death: depends on how it happens.

Think of our own existance; who provides us with the air to resperate?
No one.

And host more, are these not some proves concerning existance of God?

Thanks
No.
Christianity EtcRe: The Logic Behind the Idea of God by KAG: 6:34pm On Jun 05, 2007

First of all i think the poster of this topic is an atheist, Dear mr, even those who support the boom theory believe that there "was" a creating power that ignited the boom. God exist ok.We humans are not a mistake of procreation neither did we evolute from apes or mircoorganism blah bah years ago, God dey
Boom theory? Ignited the boom? Mistakes of procreation and evolut[ing] from apes? I guess that settles it.

Pain:
LOGIC:

1. Philosophy theory of reasoning: the branch of philosophy that deals with the theory of deductive and inductive arguments and aims to distinguish good from bad reasoning
2. System or instance of reasoning: any system of, or an instance of, reasoning and inference
3. Sensible argument and thought: sensible rational thought and argument rather than ideas that are influenced by emotion or whim
4. Reasoning of particular field: the principles of reasoning relevant to a particular field
5. Relationship and pattern of events: the relationship between specific events, situations, or objects, and the inevitable consequences of their interaction

Yes, Logic but all these has its origin and deductions from that organ called the brain. I'd say its foolhardy to put so much faith in that "Unreliable Organ". Not even as I write.
Yet, despite your caveat, you've put a tremendous amount of "faith" in that "Unreliable Organ" - both yours and others. I'd say it's foolhardy to, while using the brain, condemn and castigate using the organ responsible for your ideas and your ability to communicate those ideas to others.

The brain is not sufficient alone to explain things of the unseen.

The fact that we can't see the infra-red or ultra violet spectrum with our naked eyes doesn't mean it ain't there.
Yet, using our brains that is "not sufficient to explain things of the unsen", we've deduced ways to test and explore, scientifically, infra-red and ultra violet spectrums.
