Good Morning Gurus in the house! Make una no vex abeg...please can someone help with this info. My wife just got her IELTS result (March 7, 2020) and needs to update her EE profile. She doesn’t seem to know/ find the correct IELTS test certificate number. Her profile on britishcouncil.org has a reference number (11 or 13 so number) but it’s not the same format as the one in her previous result form/ certificate (18 entries I think). Is there a way around this as she needs to update her profile ? Not sure if British Council can provide us with the number before the test report form arrives, since it’s a computer-based test. Thanks! |
Topsmamen:@Topsmamen, Bro, please I need your help. Heard you’re familiar with PNP application process. I sent you a private message, please can you respond. Thx |
bekayy:Thanks, my sister, for the guidance. Much appreciated! |
bekayy:We need help to complete the "Proof of Employment" section. what are the acceptable documents apart from reference letter and tax clearance certificate ? Must the company be registered with CAC ? Is affidavit an acceptable document, supposing she wasn't issued any pay slips for the duration she has worked so far ? We are not familiar with this process at all. We can't afford to make any mistakes. |
bekayy:My sister, abeg I need guidance on this. My wife received Sask ITA (electrical field) and needs to submit her application. Please can you assist ? I’m sorry, had to post it here...gurus here too can help. |
gazu007:That’s correct, she’s been stamped in till Sept 4, 2018 per US date format. |
Mamatukwas:Yes o we learn everyday. I had the same thinking too but after my experience @ Heathrow, I now think the 6months is just a standard duration they grant visitors and doesn’t mean you’re welcome to stay for 5months & 2weeks with the thinking “as long as I don’t exceed the 6months, I should be OK” |
Mamatukwas:I agree with you on the ‘long stay’ issue. I’m still waiting for their response, having completed the complaint form. I’ll keep the house updated as things unfold. Thanks a lot guys! |
zoemummy:Thanks for the feedback. She was stamped in for 6months. She says it was very smooth @ the POE. She didn’t spend much time there and NO she wasn’t referred to secondary inspection. I was even worried because I kept tracking their flight, before I knew it, my sister-inlaw called that my wife was already downstairs with the taxi. I’ll still find out more. Thanks again. |
cindermum:Yes her visa was renewed via dropbox. As I said, it was a family visa (dad, mum & 2# siblings) completed using her profile as she still bears her maiden name. Previous visas issued in 2012 when they attended my sister-inlaw’s wedding. Yes she was already pregnant when she completed the dropbox process and as you know, there is no option to state that and were not ready to go the mediacal visa route. We eventually notified the embassies of our plans and got feedback. I think the duration stated in the ds160 was about 3weeks. My visa was issued in 2016 and this was the first time I tried to travel to the US as I have been very busy with work which is relatively comfortable BTW. Intention was to atleast use the visa once before it expires, let it not be they issued a visa and I refused to use it. What do you think? Thanks for the responses so far. I’m still waiting for response from DHS. |
ogemele:I’m not sure...my wife seems not to recall the conversation on the day. According to her it was smooth, she spent few seconds there. I agree with you that Oct 2017 till now is a long time, this may have contributed partly... |
Ramj:Congratulations! |
dere5:Family/ group visa (B1/B2) was issued via dropbox. We notified both embassies (Abuja & Lagos) before she travelled in Oct 2017. |
Reine22:No, we’re christians. She was stamped in for 6months with no issues @ POE. |
Hello Gurus in the house, I must thank you all for all the good work...this thread has helped thousands! Thanks again. Please I need advice to resolve issues surrounding below experience: *Please bear with me I'm not too sure if this is the right thread to post this* My wife on a B1/B2 visa had her baby in the US in December 2017 and we made sure to clear all the medical bills (zero balance). Before she traveled, we wrote the US embassy in ABJ to notify them of our intent of which they responded that it was OK to have a baby on that class of visa as long as we can cover the bills. Fast forward, just last week, I landed Heathrow to connect a flight to JFK New York. At the airline desk, a gentleman, probably an airport official or immigration officer (not sure who he was working for) approached me and asked directly "Your wife just had a baby not too long ago in the US, YES or NO?" I answered YES that I was infact on my way to the US to bring them back...that I was only staying for 9days (showed him my return ticket). He asked me to wait and got on the phone then came back to me after ~10mins and told me unfortunately I would not be allowed to board the aircraft to JFK, that that's the directive from Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and that my VISA has been cancelled . When I asked why? He said I should direct my question to the US embassy in my country. So my brothers & sisters, that is how I was put on the next flight back to Lagos (had to wait for 4hours). I arrived Nigeria the next day and called the ABJ embassy, I was redirected to Lagos embassy...the lady that I spoke with apologized for any inconveniences caused and asked me to send a mail to LagosNIV and copy the ABJ address too stating what actually happened. Lagos responded with a directive to contact DHS TRIP, that they alone can resolve this issue. I have filled out a complaint form on the website and have been waiting for their response. Is there any other thing thing I can do? What does this really mean? cos up till now e still be like Nigerian film to me. Gurus in the house, abeg over to you. Many thanks in advance. |
