Zwooks: Dangote wants the entire petroleum industry in his back pocket the same way he pocketed CBN and has used his quota system brothers to empty the nation of its foreign exchange. Nigerians are like you said quitessentially simply naive and sentimental
Dangote refinery is a private investment and not a national project
numericalguy: Tinubu is the greatest Yoruba to have ever been born. Learn to separate facts from emotions. That is the number 1 mistake of 0BIDIENTS
You hate Tinubu because he destroyed the political career of Peter Obi and has made it politically impossible for any IIGB0 to become president for at least the next 32 years
oz4real83: No matter the level of evil or corruption being perpetuated by Nigerian politicians\leaders, there will always be a Nigerian supporting them , unfortunately, this same Nigerian will be dragging front seat, sandwiched between the driver, another Nigerian in front seat of mini-buses that don't even have space and be loaded like olden days sardine
Nigerians love their oppressors that turned this contraption to the poverty and corruption capital of the world
strangest: NNPC is already a monopoly that’s why they won’t repair the refineries…. Let them go and fight Dangote
NNPC is the regulator of the industry. If NNPC had not looted billions of dollars in Turn Around Maintenance (TAM) the four refineries would have been working then they could be considered a monopoly. The NNPC is finally playing the part of a regulator in preventing a monopoly.
olisaEze: Atiku said it, but somehow they’ll end up facing Obi! That project will not go beyond the door mouth of Eko Atlantic in the next eight years. Mark this comment, no be today Naija & white elephant project be 5 & 6.
Parable007: For NNPCL to feel threatened by Dangote's refinery, and label it monopoly, you people should know that there was no plan to make any refinery work in the first place.
Look up the meaning of monopoly. The NNPCL has a responsibilty not to hand the oil refining sector to one man.
This is a private business and should go to market and source for it's feeder products. The government has done its part by providing billions in discounted dollars through controversial circumstances through CBN with Godwin Emefiele.
strangest: So NNPC MALTA Heist is what we should support
This is a no win scenario for the average Nigerian and will not result in lower fuel prices. Even if the Malta heist is stopped then Dangote has full monopoly which he is trying to achieve and can charge 200 million citizens any price he wants like he does in cement, sugar and pasta.
Nigerians have never benefited in any industry he has held monopoly.
