JohnBullMySon: I do talk am before. FIFA has no legal basis to interpret DRC constitution for them. DRC government statement will just tell them that dual citizenship prohibition in effect currently is legal unrecognition of the other citizenship per 2007 law and thus their passports are valid. Case closed. This has likely already happened during the switch process.
Leave them to enjoy their World Cup delulu. Imagine NFF asking FIFA to tell the Congolese government to provide their constitution, well nothing is impossible for them |

Oluoluomo: You sure ? Something wey Sudan and Cameron complained to FIFA about. Ok. The government of any country reserves the sole right to issue passports/citizenship to anyone they seem fit, FIFA on the other hand has to ensure transparency by making ensuring those players are either born in those countries, or their parents were born there, or they meet the residency requirements of 5 years or more. The reason for FIFA putting this measure was because of national teams poaching players and fast tracking citizenship, Togo called up 3 Brazilians to their side in 2003 while Asian countries like Qatar and the UAE were issuing passports to South Americans around that time as well. Dos Santos was issued a Tunisian passport after only living there for 2 years. Those Congolese players in question meet at least one requirement. FIFA reviewed their eligibility and confirmed it on their official website/portal. NFF can go ahead and carry their lawyers to embarrass themselves. |

M7even: Oma akatugba is always seeking relevance from the controversial position. We are saying the Congolese FA have tricked or deceived FIFA by presenting documents which are illegal. Since their laws or what is legal in Congo is that Congolese citizens cannot have dual citizenship. Does the aforementioned players have dual citizenship? Yes? Is this this legal in Congo to have dual citizenship? NO. Have the Congolese tried to manipulate FIFA deliberately or otherwise in presenting Congolese Passports to FIFA when they should know that their players cannot have dual passport? That's up for debate but does it nullify those players as Congolese players? I believe YES it can be argued that it is a breach of the Congolese laws Do you have a copy of DR Congo's constitution? |

On the pitch they did nothing wrong...EOD The NFF have zero case against DR Congo, appropriate documents were presented by their federation and their government gave them passports because their parents were born in Congo. Dannyxy: fifa cleared moekona to play because South Africa brought him on the list, it’s not fifa job to your home work, if you make mistakes and no one catches you fine, it’s their choice to leave but if you opponent catches your folly, fifa will bounce on you. FIFA's job is not to monitor suspension of players, same way Rohr started Shehu in 2017 WC qualifiers. Some people are surprised that DR Congo were able to clear 3 to 4 players within the space of 4 months whereas in Nigeria it will take 1 or 2 years. Well not all federations or systems are as slow as Nigeria |

I do not know whether you’re intentionally playing Slow or acting Dumb. But, it’s clear that FIFA eligibility rules were broken The level of arrogance and confidence with which you are saying nonsense is marveling, the NFF should take their ill-trained lawyers and present the case to FIFA while the Congolese will be crying in their camps. Is this thing not simple enough? FIFA can decide to look the other way but then fifa will most probably not look the other way because of a drc that was fraudulent. I'm done talking about this, we'll await to see the Eagles at the world cup. |

Bannedlargejr: You keep switching the Goalposts in question. While Belgium and England might not grant birthright Citizenship. The players in question are Belgium and England citizens and most importantly held Belgium and England passport prior to November 2025. If holding a Belgium and England passports prior to November 2025 doesn’t not indicate being a citizen of those Countries, I do not know what else to say. The players in question has to officially declare to FIFA that, they forfeited their Belgium and England passport to play for Congo considering congo do not accept dual-citizenship. All information has to be prior to November 2025. There’s a reason why Tobias lawal, ehizigbue, orban hasn’t played for Nigeria because of eligibility discrepancies. Like I said, only way for congo to get out of this is to Tamper justice with mercy and if fifa tampers justice with mercy for Congo. It has to follow through for everyone Now you've been caught you are talking about switching goalposts, when a child is born in Belgium/England(after 1982) to non Belgium/English parents those children are automatically registered first as citizens of their parent's countries. Gift Orban doesn't require any switch to Nigeria as he has not represented any country, he was born in Nigeria and his father is from Nigeria. The SE handlers simply don't want to call him up. Tobias Lawal has an Austrian mother, and unless his father got him a passport as a child before the age of 18 then he couldn't have represented SE. He could have equally gone through the hassle as adult to obtain Nigerian nationality but not all players/individuals are willing to do so. Same with Patrick Owomoyela in 2003/2004 as Germany had strict nationality rules before they relaxed it in June 2024 Ehizibue was born in Germany to Nigerian parents (which was his first nationality), moved to the Netherlands as a child and naturalized with his family and as such has to renounce it if he has to pick up a second nationality. You should first understand how EU citizenship rules work. |

Odunayaw: What are you even saying? Did he play under the Dutch flag?
The koko is that we allow so Did he have to renounce his Dutch citizenship before doing so? No. Despite Netherlands not allowing he was still allowed to retain it. The NFF are just trying to delay the inevitable shit that will be thrown at their faces by FIFA |

I Bannedlargejr: How are they citizens of Congo the day they were born when they were born at Belgium and England respectively? Congo Dual-citizenship has a leeway and such leeway stipulates that, the individual has to be a minor “under 21” to be able to obtain 2 National team passport. The issue here is that, these players clearly Holds two national team passport and one of the country in question forbids holding Dual-passport Belgium and England doesn't grant birthright citizenship and that's why they were first citizens of their parent's country of origin. |

Bannedlargejr: The guy is a Dullard. Ekong plays for Nigeria and Nigeria clearly accepts Dual-citizenship. Additionally, ekong followed Due process 1+ year to be approved to play for Nigeria. I do not know how else to explain the law clearly written on fifa website. The only way congo can get out of this is tampering justice with mercy Infantino's personal assistant, well done. How long did it take Musiala to be cleared by Germany? You think other football federations are as incompetent as NFF |

You saw someone post FIFA eligibility law directly from their website and decided to post this information Perhaps you are the illiterate, my post was very clear. ekehopp2: Considering how FIFA handled the Emilio Nsue (Spanish-born footballer for Equatorial Guinea case), I believe they forfeited two 2026 World Cup Qualifying games, we can be somewhat hopeful.
It was a nationality switch case too. Nsue acquired Equatorial Guinea nationality (passport) after he had played official games for Spain youth teams, and he wasn't cleared by FIFA to switch because there was no paperwork, completely different case. |

Bannedlargejr: Some of the players with Dual-Citizenship that played against Nigeria Includes
Aaron wan bissaka Michel Balikwisha
They should either show their time of denouncing their British Passport prior to November 2025 or they have broken the Law. Anything contrary, is tampering justice with mercy DR Congo's nationality and citizenship law are very clear. If you are born outside the country to a Congolese parent then you are considered a citizen of Congo, none of them are citizens through naturalization. Those born DR Congo and opting for a second nationality is prohibited. This case is dead on arrival as FIFA cleared those players. Suriname and Indonesia does not allow dual citizenship yet they've been calling up Dutch-born players to their side with FIFA's approval. FIFA has no business with a country's citizenship laws. All that matters to FIFA is that the players representing the nation meet the 3 following criteria. I. Whether they were born in the country they want to represent (for countries that allow birthright citzenship) ii. Whether they are naturalized through meeting the appropriate residence requirements according to FIFA (usually 5 years) iii. Whether their parents and or grandparents were born (as citizens of the country they want to represent) iv. Whether the document proving eligibility were submitted to FIFA for clearance. Those mentioning Gift Orban, Tobias Lawal and Ehizibue as reference are not accurate as their cases are different independently. |
