A man died after he asked his followers to bury him alive so he can heal them. Self-proclaimed prophet Shamiso Kanyama of Muzarabani, Zimbabwe, accidentally died during a healing ceremony. Kanyama ordered his followers to dig a grave and bury him alive so that he can summon more healing powers.



However, when Kanyama did not come out of his grave, the soil was removed and he was found dead. Five members of the family were arrested and charged with murder. High Court Justice Owen Tagu heard that on the day in question the five men asked their priest, Zvidzai Muchengeti, for help to cleanse their home of evil spirits, which caused mysterious deaths in their family.

Kanyama was invited to the home to conduct the cleansing ceremony. Kanyama allegedly told the family that the cleaning process entails him being buried alive so that he can summon more powers to ward off evil spirits. Father Zvidzai told the court that Kanyama, helped dig the grave and then prayed before jumping inside. While laying face down, he ordered the family members to cover him with soil. Joseph Taderera told Justice Tagu that as the men were in the process of filling the pit, he asked the five men to stop, but Kanyama urgedthem to continue.

“I warned the men about the danger of their actions, but my advice fell on deaf ears because Kanyama shouted, telling me that I am disturbing his angels, and urged them to continue filling the grave, saying that he would later come out alive,” Taderera said. When the prophet failed to return, the family dug up the grave and found that he was already dead. The five family members who participated in the burial, were charged with murder in the death of Kanyama.

An Indian mother and her ten-year-old daughter were tortured and kept chained inside a locked toilet for three years because the woman’s deranged husband wanted a son. Rameshwar Rao, 40 – an accountant from the city of Chennai – told his wife Priyanka, 32, she should have an abortion when he found out that she was pregnant with their daughter Pamesha.


According to Reporters: When Mrs Rao refused to have the abortion and gave birth to Pamesha, her husband started a savage campaign of repeatedly molesting her until she again fell pregnant and gave birth to a little boy.


The abuse did not end with the birth of his son, however, and when his wife tried to flee the family home, Rao chained her and Pamesha to a toilet bowl – only moving them when he needed to use it.


Mrs Rao and her daughter were chained to the bowl for three years, despite the fact her husband’s parents were also living in the property at the same time. During that time the pair were hardly able to move and lived on only plain rice and water.



The pair were eventually saved when Mrs Rao’s father Raj Narayan and a family friend made a surprise visit to Chennai and found the woman and her daughter tied up in the bathroom.


“They had not seen the light of day for three years. They were fed nothing but rice and were in very bad health,’ a police spokesman said.


“The son on the other hand lived a very good, normal life,” he added. Despite the severity of the treatment, Chennai said Rao could not be arrested as his wife had refused to press charges. It is understood she plans to continue living with her husband and his family in their home.


The Times of India quoted a policewoman who worked on the case as saying: “We offered them food and it was sad to see how the girl gobbled down whatever we gave. “The 10-year old girl was looking like she was three years old.”

A 60-year-old herbalist, Tajudeen Awoniyi, is now in the Oyo State police net for defiling his two daughters and two other minor nieces. Awoniyi was arrested in the Akinyele area of Ibadan having been linked with the illegal act committed against his two teenage daughters, Barakat and Sefiat.


Commissioner of Police in the state, Mohammed Katsina, said Awoniyi was arrested after sleeping with his nieces, who passed a night in his apartment. It was alleged that Awoniyi gave traditional black soap to the teenage girls around 1am with which the girls bathed on the day the crime was committed. He thereafter slept with each of them separately. He revealed that the mother, Jelilat Awoniyi, 35, who had travelled to Lagos on the day the crime was committed, called the police after discovering that her daughters were behaving abnormally.

One of the daughters, Barakat, 15, who confirmed that her father actually committed the offence, also said that her father had developed the habit of sleeping with her and her sister after getting drunk. She said they could not raise the alarm because he threatened to punish them severely, adding that their mother left the house when they were very young.


“We came home with Noimot, 14, and Kehinde, 15, on the evening of the incident but when it was too late, they decided to sleep in our house because their mother travelled. My father later gave them black soap and he called them into his shrine one by one and slept with them. Each time he was drunk, he would rape me and my sister in the house. He had done it to me three times. I cried but I could not tell anyone for fear of my father,” she said.


Confirming the crime, Sefiat, 14, also said that her father had started sleeping with her last year also. Noimot, who said that she and her sister were virgins until the incest was committed, alleged that Awoniyi used juju before he could sleep with them.

Obiazi further commented on the post; “Efforts made so far to apprehend this extremely wicked woman are being frustrated by a High court judge in Ikorodu who granted an exparte order restraining the police from arresting the woman pending the determination of the motion on notice for the enforcement of her fundamental rights.”

Locals in India say Sudama Devi first munched sand for a joke with friends when she was just ten-years-old but now eats up to a kilogram of the stuff everyday.

They say they watch as the villager from Kajri Noorpur has a plate of grit four times a day and thanks to her unusual habit she has never had to visit a doctor or feel hunger.

When Madam Saidat Ishola had a scuffle with one of her tenants in Mowe, Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State, following a disagreement over electricity bill, she did not have any foreboding that the incident would eventually claim her life.


Ishola and Shakirat, a 33-year-old mother of two had allegedly engaged each other in fisticuffs over the disconnection of power supply to the tenant’s apartment due to her inability to settle her electricity bill.


Shakirat was said to have been infuriated when she woke up that morning and discovered that of all the tenants in the house, it was only her own apartment that had no electricity supply and in her attempt to get the situation rectified, a fight broke out between her and the landlady.


Although the two were separated and the matter resolved, Shakirat who felt humiliated remained bitter and aggrieved. But unknown to Ishola who thought the matter was over, Shakirat who was still boiling internally had a plan to take back her own pound of flesh. And hours after the fight, Shakirat got that chance when the landlady decided to take a nap that afternoon. As the landlady was enjoying her sleep, Shakirat allegedly went stealthily into her apartment and suddenly grabbed her neck, strangulating her to death.

A pregnant relation of the landlady who saw Shakirat as she grabbed Ishola’s neck and made to rescue her was also said to have been over-powered by the rampaging mother of two. Immediately she accomplished her “mission”, Shakirat vanished into thin air Policemen from Mowe Police Divisional Headquarters later visited the scene of the crime and took away the landlady’s corpse which they deposited at the morgue of the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu.


Since then the police have been on the trail of the killer-tenant whose whereabouts have remained a mystery.

The son of the late landlady, Samson, recounted:

“I had left home very early in the morning for my workshop. It was while I was in my workshop that someone told me to go back home, that one of our tenants was fighting with her.


“When I got home, I met my elder brother and some residents of the street who had already settled the matter, and so I returned to my workshop. After the matter had been settled, my mother went back to her apartment to freshen up and change her torn dress. It was while she was sleeping that our tenant sneaked into the living room and strangled her to death.


“When the suspect was strangling my mum, my uncle’s pregnant wife who was in the bedroom relaxing heard my mother cry and rushed out of the room, but she was overpowered by the tenant. Immediately she killed my mum, she ran away without taking anything from her room.”

The victim’s son however pleaded with the police to help fish out the runaway suspect so that she would not go scot-free after committing such a heinous crime.


A resident of the area who pleaded anonymity said the runaway killer-tenant lost her husband last year and had since been living in the house without paying any rent, following a plea made by the deceased landlady with her own husband to allow her to live in the property free-of-charge.


The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer,[PPRO], Muyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the incident. He said the suspect was “still at large. Up till now, we are still trying to get the tenant.”

The gruesome murder of Tony Eze, a 39-year-old International businessman based in Abuja and a
trader at the Abuja Aluminium market, have been
unravelled by detectives attached to the Special
Anti-Robbery Squad, Force Headquarters, Abuja. The
late Eze, from Umuagede village in Nsukka L.G.A. of
Enugu State met his untimely death after a night
out with friends when assasins hired by his best
friend shot him dead
Eyewitness account said he was shot dead by two
young men on a motor bike who closed in on him
while he was trying to avoid a porthole, just a few
meters away from the refreshment garden at
Tungama area of Zuba in the outskirts of Abuja.


According to Vanguard, The deceased reportedly left
his shop about 5pm and got to the garden where he
met three of his friends already seated and enjoying
drinks. it was gathered that about 7:20pm, they all
set to leave, moving in a convoy, with his best friend
driving the car in front. Eze was the last to join
before he was blocked and shot dead inside his car.


After the owner of the garden and other
sympathizers gathered at the scene, his friends
reportedly drove away claiming that they heard a
bang at their back but thought that Eze must have
hit something and that was why they continued
without him.


Reports said that even after the arrival of his friends
at the scene, no serious efforts were made to either
take him to the hospital or contact the police at
Zuba. Policemen arrived the scene around 11pm and
all efforts made to revive Eze in the hospital failed.


One of the doctors was said to have reprimanded his
friends for not rushing him to the nearest hospital
immediately they arrived the scene, saying that he
could have survived the gun shots if he had been
given immediate medical attention.


The case was however cracked after private
detectives succeeded in arresting a suspect in
possession of the phone of the deceased which was
the only item his assailants disappeared with after
the incident. The suspect turned out to be in the
same Aluminium Market where late Eze had his
shop.


the police said,
"We drilled him for long hours until he capitulated
and started confessing how they killed the innocent
young man.”


According to him, two people came to engage their
services for the job in their cult group. He gave a
detailed description of them and one of the
descriptions tallied with that of the late
businessman’s best friend who also had business in
the same market with him. The suspect said that
when they asked those that came to hire them why
they wanted the man dead, they said he had been
importing goods from abroad and needed to be
silenced. They were paid N1.2million, some of them
got N250,000 while others got N300,000 each.”


Giving a detailed account of how they carried out
the operation on the day in question, the suspect
said some of them arrived the restaurant earlier
than the deceased and sat by a table near where he
later sat with his best friend who hired them. ‘He
said that as soon as they were ready to go, his friend
winked at them at the nearby table and they used
their telephone to flash their colleagues who were
positioned outside the area as a signal that they
should proceed to hit their target. He further said
they were told that he would be coming in a car
behind. So, his friend quickly drove off in front with
the deceased following behind and when they got to
the point where they had to join the expressway, the
friend in front drove faster. As soon as his friend
entered the expressway two of the hired killers
blocked the businessman’s car and one of them just
pulled out his gun, approached the driver’s side and
yanked open the door. While Eze was passionately
pleading with them to take whatever they needed
and spare his life, the armed man shot him point
blank, picked his phone and sped off.’’


Police sources also hinted that after the arrest of
five of the suspects at the popular Aluminium
Market, Abuja, his best friend confessed during
interrogation that the deceased gave him N5million
to exchange for him around October 2014, and he
was yet to pay him back before he was killed. It was
learnt that initially, he wanted to be smart by
diverting the attention of detectives to focus their
searchlight on one of the brothers to the deceased
but when he learnt that one of the killers had
confessed to the crime, he withdrew his allegation.
Sources said detectives were still searching for the
second person that hired the killers together with
the best friend to the deceased and would soon
arrest him.


The deceased brother said:
"This is the greatest shock we have received in our
area in recent times. That suspect is well known to
all of us as Tony’s best friend. They used to travel
together to China on business trips. In fact, he was
closer to our brother than anybody in the family.
Whenever we needed to advise our brother, we
usually channelled it through this his friend who
happens to come from Eha-Alumonah Community, a
neighbouring town in Nsukka.

Shocking video has emerged showing a veiled woman being
publicly executed by Al Qaeda for alleged adultery - a sentence
that has sickened even the Islamic State. The footage shows the woman, who is wearing a black robe and a hijab (headscarf), being ordered to crouch down on the pavement in front of a crowd of masked jihadi fighters in Syria.

Behind her, a militant declares that she has been convicted by
an Islamic court of being an adulterer, condemning her for
allegedly running a brothel.

A gunmen then pulls out a pistol and shoots her in the head
with a single shot as chants of Allahu Akbar - Arabic for God is
greatest - ring out from the baying mob.

condemnation even from rival Islamists, with one ISIS

The footage, which has not been independently verified,
appears to have been filmed by a jihadi fighter on a mobile
phone, reportedly from Ma'arrat al-Numan in the north-
western city of Idlib.

In the video, a small crowd of masked fighters from Jabhat al-
Nusra - an Al Qaeda affiliated group in Syria - gather near the
city's main roundabout.
Most of the men are carrying machine guns and are dressed in
thick coats and military fatigues.
The cameraman turns the camera to show the emptiness of the roads, with the traffic halted to allow the execution to be
carried out in full public view.

A woman, who activists have suggested is thought to be around 50 years old, is shown standing next to several fighters. Except for a red cardigan, the lady is seen wearing an all-black robe, covering down to her feet.
She also wears a black hijab (headscarf) which tightly covers all her hair. Nearby a concrete wall, tagged in graffiti declares the area to be the stronghold of Jabhat al- Nusra (the Nusra Front).

A bearded fighter, wearing body armour stands intimidating
behind her, warding off anyone uninvited who gets too close to the woman.

Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau has threatened Cameroon in a message on the video-sharing site YouTube, warning that the same fate would befall the country as neighbouring Nigeria.

Nigerian soldiers fighting Boko Haram in the Northern part of
the country
PRNigeria reports that military confiscated the weapons in
Maiduguri and Damboa in Borno state after an attack on the
terrorists.

It was gathered that a large number of the terrorists died in a
gun battle that ensued between troops and the sect members.
The sect’s improvised explosive device (IED) laden Hilux truck
vehicle was also destroyed in the process.
The troops also reportedly captured a Hilux vehicle earlier
stolen by the terrorists from the Borno State Ministry of
Education, which they have repainted and mounted with an
anti-aircraft gun.


Other weapons recovered by troops comprised a rocket
propelled grenades and rifles. It was gathered that the sect
members fell into an ambush laid for them by Nigerian
military who, were on a mission to stop the terrorists from
attacking the electricity engineers who were working to
restore power to parts of Borno State.


Major General Chris Olukolade, the defence spokesperson,
who confirmed the recovery incidents, disclosed that the
exact casualty figures were still being ascertained.
Meanwhile, in a related development, Military Engineer troops
who have been evacuating terrorists IEDs and repairing
bridges destroyed by the sect repelled an attack while
working on a bridge around Husara.


Many Boko Haram members were said to have lost their lives
in the incident, while a total of four General Purpose Machine
Guns, three rifles and two Rocket Propelled Grenade
Launchers were recovered from the terrorists during the
battle.

However, three soldiers lost their lives in the two separate
operations while three others were reportedly wounded in
the encounter with the terrorists group.
It would be recalled that some days ago, the Nigerian military
reportedly killed no fewer than 80 Boko Haram members in
Damboa area of Borno State.

year old Timmy Bannon were both born without hands. It is
a medical condition called Holt-Oram syndrome. It’s a rare

The Emir has earlier issued a call to arms after Boko Haram
attacked militants in Kano. He also charged the people of
Kano to arm and defend themselves against the Boko Haram

The new video lasts for 19 minutes. Shekau did not claim
responsibility for the recent Mosque attack there. But he said

western education, those who believed in the religion of the

Shekau criticized the Emir’s faith as Sanusi’s religion is based
on constitution:
“Our own government is defined as government of the Allah

and for the people.


“Emir of Kano Sanusi you are late, that our triumph is just for
a period of time so you said. Even your predecessors who are
renowned idol worshipers in Islamic history like ‘Abujahal’
could not succeed fighting Islam. Yes you can say that our
success is for a period of time, because you are a king of Bank
and a loyal citizen of his country,” he added.


The leader of terrorists mentioned his people are ready to be
killed so they could get to heaven.



“Because you are made the Emir of Kano that is why you got
angry and was calling on the Vigilante groups and hunters to
attack us. Let me tell you that the hunters and the vigilante
groups will fail and you will also fail,” he said.


The leader of Boko Haram also criticized the government of
Saudi Arabia by saying they will all perish in hell.

Anita Trivedi, a 23-year-old Kings College medical student, has
committed suicide by jumping under a moving train after
failing her exams.

Daily Mail reports that Trivedi, from Newham, East London, was
depressed after having to resit her fourth year at medical
school.


Before the suicide, Anita suffered from mood swings, eating
problems, hair loss and even attacked a classmate in the toilet.
The victim told a Southwark Coroner’s Court that Anita attacked
her for no reason.

"She turned her head towards me and just lunged at me and
started attacking me.


"She put her right fist out and started to attempt to punch me
and I kept putting my hands out to stop.
"Then she hit me really hard on the left side of my head. I bent
over the sink because I would have fallen over if I hadn’t put my
hands out.


"I screamed ‘help’ and she ran out."
Anita took her own life by, jumping into the way of a freight
train that was travelling through a station near the medical
school's campus.

In a statement read at the inquest, the driver of the train said he saw someone on the tracks and tried to stop it, adding that the person did not leave the tracks even after he sounded the horn.

"The train was coming to a stop and I was able to see the
person lying on the track.
"The person made no attempt to get up off the track.
"When the train came to a halt 250 foot after the impact with
the person and could not have stopped in time. It seemed to
me this was a deliberate act."

A number of eyewitnesses also confirmed that they saw the
deceased jump under the train.


Anita’s father, Kailash Trivedi said his daughter did not look
depressed after failing her exams.
"She was beautiful, very pretty, she cared for everybody, she
always remembered birthdays and Father’s Day and Mother’s
Day. She was everything," he said.


"She was so good, so nice, so polite, so courteous. I miss her so much." Her friend, Darena Dineva, however said she struggled after the failure.

wife if only I was pre-informed before she started the
construction of the house. I cannot, because ideally it is a man’s
responsibility to build a house for his wife and the children.
Living in a house built by my wife then is like shifting my social
and biological roles as the head of the family to her.



Peter Amosun: I can live in a house built by my wife only if she
agrees I will still be the head, the controller, and the dictator of
the house. And more so if my dignity won’t be destroyed by
telling people around us.



David Fakeye: I cannot accept to do that. My wife should give
me the money to build the house on behalf of the family than
building the house herself. Culturally, it is expected of a woman
that is richer than her husband to make her husband the
controller of her money. Some women prefer their husbands
to have a two-bedroom flat before building theirs even if it is a
mansion.



Olusoji Kayode: The most important thing is love, if there is true
love between us; there is nothing my wife will do that I won’t be
happy about. There are times that God first bless the wife
before the husband. If there is unity, there is nothing bad in
living in the house built by my wife. I can only stay back if my
wife is too proud and tells everybody around that she built the
house.


Gabriel Olasunkanmi Olaokun: I can’t live in a house built by my
wife because I won’t have a say in the house, she can do and
undo at anytime. Women naturally are full of ego.



Saheed Ahmed Olaide: It can never happen, I can only do that
when I am ready to die. If I should go to her house to celebrate
with her and I mistakenly sleep there, if I should wake up at
midnight I must find my way to my own house that night. May
God never allow it to happen till the end of the world! I am not
saying my wife should not build her house, but I can never
sleep there.



Stanley Omeretin: It depends on my wife. It also depends on
her level of maturity, if she thinks she can be comfortable with
it, I can live with her. But if she is not, I don’t think I should live
with her. If at first she is comfortable with it and later she is no
longer comfortable with it, I will look for a way out by packing
out and be comfortable with myself somewhere else. I am the
man and I have to always be.



Adeleke Adeyemi: I can live in a house built by my wife
inasmuch as I am the one who established a business for her.
Both the house and the woman belong to me.



Wasiu Rasaq: I pray against such a negative thing from
happening to me. Living in a house built by my wife is not a

the house built by my wife is if I knew from the onset that she
was building one, but if I didn’t know, I cannot.

says the husband is the head of the house. If I have to live in a
house built by her it means that she has been made the head,
naturally, I am supposed to be the head.



Ogasibe Adekunle: It is a bad thing and I can’t live there. She will
later use this to get at me at any given time even if she does not
