Anyways, have the aufnahmetest on thursday. Will do my best. |

bosakelvin: As it is hard to get into studies for Masters, I presume you should consider Bachelors program. When granted visa and in Germany you immediately start applying for Masters and actually going to the schools to ask the international office or student support, showing them your certificates and what is their advice for you. The university you graduated from may not really be important to the Universities you are applying to, you may be choosing a course which is outside of your subject field from the Bachelors already acquired, The certificate may to too old now and the Universities you applied to may have reached there maximum allowed international students allowed at that time From my friends who wrote IELTS, they said it was easier. Some actually found it easier than TOEFL. Wish you the best of luck. |

Eke40seven: To quickly add to @Scofield03's input. 5. Basically the certificate received from the Studienkolleg is widely accepted in a lot of German Universities assuming that you pass the Feststellungsprüfung (FSP) which is given at the end of the 1 year study in the Studienkolleg you may then apply for Bachelors degree in your chosen subject field. 6. I highly think it unlikely to switch from a Studienkolleg with language of tuition as German to English, as I believe all Studienkolleg kurs are taught in deutsch. Before you can even be admitted in the first place for the Aufnahme test(Entrance test) into the studienkolleg, you must have some knowledge of German. I do not see the issue with learning in German though as you will be in more like an immersion class where almost everything is in Deutsch even in the streets of Deutschland My 6th point is open for countering please as I wish to learn more on things I do not know. 1 Like |

dencotech: I applied like 19th Dec and then received the email to present the 3-months health insurance at the embassy 14th January. The time they respond to you depends really on how easy your documents are to flip through I guess, if your interview went smoothly and the work load they have at that time. 1 Like |

Junipero: Oh thank goodness ![]() How was the aufnahmetest? Did you get it the first time you wrote it? Is there anything I should know when taking the aufnahmetest and studies in studienkolleg in general? When did you get to Germany? When did you sit the aufnahmetest? Whats the name of your University? How long have you been in Germany in total? |

emerald14: Thank you @emerald14. Yes I would like to meet someone already in the M kurs precisely in Mainz or anyone that has done the studienkolleg studies before regardless of the kurs (T,M,W,G) |

Thank you all for the best wishes. @emerald14 I am doing my best in thorough preparation for the aufnahmetest. I applied for admission actually for WS14(Winter semester 2014) and had to write to all schools that offered me to kindly move my admission to the SS15 to enable me prepare well for the visa application. On average it take 2-4 weeks to get a response depending on the time of application( It is highly advised to know someone in Germany or an EU country to be able to receive the letter on your behalf from the Universities and post to you in Nigeria. I did not like that Nipost system as some advice on this threads) Also, all German public holidays must not be counted for your application processing as the German Embassy still observes those German Public Holidays even in Nigeria. @junipero: I arrive Duesseldorf Airport 20th February and you? @scofield03: Wish you the best of luck mate. Are you applying for Bachelors or Masters? Hope you already have the deutsche bank account with the necessary sums. ![]() 2 Likes |

Well, I guess I am the second to give good news on the part two of this thread. Presented my IGI 3-months health insurance and received my visa as well (not this week though- last week) for SS15, Bsc Informatic through Studienkolleg Mainz with the aufnahmetest! I am new to this thread(part 1 and 2) and more of an observer, not a poster. Although I wish everybody well and I would render the best advice I can as soon as I can. Regards, 4 Likes |
