I will try all these, with the exception of 7 & 10 |
In my place, feasting is compulsory and I love it. But the way it's done? The deceased family may never have to contribute a dime. The neighbours and everyone else in the community comes with one food item or another. |
Omor! No be only you o. I am addicted to Pepsi like mad. I always try to drink one bottle, at least, every other day. |
I actually think it's sexy. I love this. |
Mosco100:I love your honesty about the AI stuff. And the advice is actually smart. Thanks. |
AllBlack:Wow! I think you are the first person to make me really feel like marrying right can be a blessing. "God I thank you oh" definitely means you feel lucky to marry your partner. I will love to listen to your advice, if you won't mind. I am 35 now, and I am already feeling like, I do not want to get married ever. But I will love to listen to you. |
brain54:That boy Pikin in Kaduna, if it's the Pikin I know, that's not his real name. I actually stayed next door to him for six months. People only call him Pikin because at first glance they are confused as to whether he's a "he" or "she." You don't wanna refer to a girl as a "he" or you'll likely make her feel she's ugly. And you also don't want to refer to a boy as a "she"; no man wants to be seen as feminine. I was also confused the first week. He's a nice guy though, and very hardworking. |
Kushites:Exactly! I am speaking for myself. I am really dark-skinned, and the first thing people always see is "black", not a person. We generally have low self esteem. This is fact. Stop denying what we all know. |
Racism is everywhere. I don't really blame them. Even in Nigeria, we consider light skinned people superior to the darker ones. |
I know that feeling. I actually want to live a solitary life, but I sometimes worry about the loneliness. It is best, though, for someone to get a hobby like Tennis, Badminton or swimming, or even join up a unit in their local church if they are religious, or just join some foundation or even politics and be active. Better still, write a book, do some research, start coding, learn to play an instrument, travel or start a conservation society. Whatever you do, just get something doing. I know, you still come back to an empty house, but at least, you've filled up some parts of your day with something to look forward to. Taking care of animals also has a way of lighting you up. Cats, birds, dogs rabbits, etc |
This is the case where the woman is supposed to actually cheat. She is supposed to be allowed, even demanded to go out, get pregnant for another man and birth the child for the husband, and the husband must be obligated to approve it and take care of the child. The man too must be legally compelled to take care of the woman and the child even if they get divorced. This should be an obligation. |
Mirasteel:People like you are the reason I get really scared for the future of humanity. I am very sure you truly believe what you are saying to be true. Man! Humanity is doomed! |
budaatum:What you said is actually sensible. In a relationship, any show of doubt or mistrust can actually damage things. . But in this case, there is no relationship. This one is about child support. And paying child support means the couple are no longer together, so asking for a DNA test is actually really smart. You don't demand trust from someone you are not with. . Still, even in a an active relationship, not carrying out the DNA test does not mean there is the trust; it's just that only the man is expected to just hide his mistrust. I will still advice, if there is any doubt, it better do the test and have some closure than hold things in because you are scared to be wrong. |
Lukuluku69:OK thanks! Just quote an unnecessary scripture and pretend you are making sense. All I am saying is that if verse 28 is true for us, why is verse 27 not true for us? You can stop reading my comment here. But of you want to continue, let's go: People use one verse of scripture to support whatever their biases are. Most Christians, or even Muslims, don't quote scripture because they care about righteousness or goodness; y'all mostly do it because you want to use it to judge others. That verse is just very obvious, but it even goes deeper. Culturally, people in the Middle East and part of Africa and India usually cut themselves to mourn their dead or mark their bodies to indicate their number of kills. Some use permanent tattooing or scarring. (You can see it in the body of Killmonger in the movie "Black Panther" This is what the Bible forbids. The Bible did not forbid tribal marks or tribal tattoos, so it does not really condemn markings or tattoos in general. And even all that is just in the old testament; because if we want to apply that to our present time and say tattoos are evil, verse 27 too (carving your hair and shaping your beards) should also apply. There is no Christian man presently on Earth that does not do either of that, except, maybe the bald ones. But because you are not biased to it, you did not condemn it.Stop being a hypocrite! |
Lukuluku69:I am sorry, this is not a case of semantics, but it seem to me that entire verse is just one sentence, all on the same matter. . But let's say you are right, what do we make of the verse that precedes that one; or are we going to just pick and choose what we want? It's why I say we are picking Scripture based on our preferences. If cutting and marking the the body (for the dead) is forbidden, cutting up or shaping the edges of your hair should be forbidden too; but I don't see nobody talking about that. HYPOCRITES! |
judewrites:I love how you people get to pick and choose. The same verses that spoke of cutting and marks on the body [for the dead] also spoke about cutting the sides of your hair (v 27). Why is one OK, but not the other? |
judewrites:The holy spirit has no problem with this; it's just hypothetical Christians trying to force their personal preferences on scripture. Nowhere in the bible is tattoos forbidden. And O don't see how this dishonours anyone, while cutting of hair is okay. |
Lukuluku69:You should have even used the one in Leviticus 21. . Either ways, the Bible did not forbid tattoos. Here it says, " Ye shall not make any cuttings on your flesh FOR THE DEAD". First of all he's talking to the High Priest of the old testament only Secondly, he's saying you should never mourn so bad for the dead that you have to cut yourself, just like some Arabs and Indians still do to this day. . You people are just forcing your own personal preferences on Scripture. |
dangermouse:Nobody is holding them back. When they are really serious about Biafra, they will get it. Believe me, the average Nigerian man does not care about the breakup of Nigeria. Freedom is not given; it is taken. The Igbos are not serious about Biafra; they are more concerned about picking fights with all their neighbours than about putting their house in order. Let them elect people who will push that agenda in the National Assembly. Those ones will push for a plebiscite, and a date will be set for peaceful division. The average Yoruba man knows he will flourish with, or without Nigeria as country. The average Northerner does not even care. . Why the 'Biafrans' love pushing this false narrative of " sidelining" and "persecution" is best known to them. They will rather tarnish the image of the country in general and push an agenda of hate. Of the three major ethnicities, I love the Igbos the most; they are enterprising and smart. They are a beautiful people, and always push for a good development; but their single-minded drive for money at all cost and this agenda of hate they are pushing is something I hate. And, like many other Nigerians, I can't wait for the day they will have their Biafra. I am sure that having a country of their own will help make them committed to building a good global image. These people are the best of us and I can't wait for the World to see how exceptionally great the Igbos are. But I don't support this your agenda of hate. |
This one wey Jesus just dey do am left, right and centre for people, him no dey see me ne? When my own go show? Abi Jesus no dey look broke people side? |
sholikay:'Sibling or relative representing' the groom and they are kissing on the lips? Don't be shocked to later discover he's way older than the bride. |
In the Western World, all adultery is the same. In Nigeria, where the man "pays" for the woman, it is not the same. In Nigeria, the man is supposed to pay a bride price, and fulfill some cultural obligations. This is to signify that he's the head, and "lord" over the woman. So imagine "paying for something" and having someone else use it. And as the head, the man can still choose to go for as many women as he can afford, because a man's worth is only measured by how much he can afford. Even after the wedding, the man is expected to be the one taking all the responsibilities. You cannot talk about equality when only one person is expected to carry all the load. This idea of "paying" Bride price and paying off some list will have to go first before we can talk about men and women being equal in a marriage, because it indirectly places the man over the woman, and patriarchy is what equality is trying to do away with. I dislike patriarchy as much as I despise feminism. We are all Equal, but we are NOT the same! |
I always laugh when I see people saying America is not the Greatest superpower. Truth is, no nation comes close to the vicinity. People only talk because America is the one country they can talk about. And America, as the top dog, does not need to respond to any false narrative or explain itself. If not for America, una for see shege for all these superpower-wannabes hands. It's why I will always choose America over Russia or China; colonist masters or not. Thank God for America. |
Ororo! The Billionaire Footballer! He'll surely bounce back, but I doubt it will end in a trophy for Al Nassr. |
O boy if na sexual temptation, me I dey fall o. |
meobizy:Please you guys should stop all these labelling nonsense. What has being a Northerner got to do with drugs. You do not need to always bring negativity into this abeg. Besides, Southerners are even the ones known internationally for drugs. They even gave Nigeria a drug baron as president and a drunkard as minister. |
idreesjigo:I never make any comments on Islam posts, because I know my comments will always be negative. But, saying we are all born Muslims is the most pathetic crap I've heard in a long while. The Hadith must be the funniest book ever written. I hate Islam with every fibre of my being. |
Goo0dHardDick:Yeah!. Still see no difference. |
Goo0dHardDick:Well, ask Ned Nwoko? |
Goo0dHardDick:Not really. And my parents are not muslims either |
We4all:Oh. I was hoping to hear some reasonable explanation. Sorry! |
