My dad was 35, mum was 15 I came about three years later, closely after my older brother |
Kaczynski:I will love to understand what makes Nigerians worse even among blacks. |
CodeTemplarr:Thank you. This was the first thing I noticed. This people are just shameless. |
WizardOfNG:The truth you people fail to tell yourselves is that Northern Nigeria is not Homogenuous like other parts of the country. The term "The North" is a big sham, and it is misleading. I can say "South-East" and everybody knows I am talking about "Igbo" I can say "South-West" and everybody knows I am talking about "Yoruba" The South-South (Niger-Delta) region may not be homogenous, but they are mostly of the same religious affiliation. With "the North" It is never true in any part of it. Northern Nigeria is a melting pot of not only different ethnicities, but also religions. And we are more sharply divided than the Southerners are. Ethnic and religious interest is more pronounced in the North. So for this reason, no single body, individual or voice can truly say they represent the North. The battle the Southerners always wail about fighting; it is us in the North who are knee deep in it. Most minorities in the North fight the authorities more than you people in the South can ever know. We are the one getting killed the most. And we are the one fighting for our lives. We are the ones getting more discrimination both from the North and the South. In the North, Christians have to conform or risk offending the Muslim political powerhouses. Other minority tribes have to "Hausanize" or "Islamize" their people just so they will be accepted or they risk being discriminated upon (Silently, of course: the people in the north are north as loud and vocal as the people from the south). And in the South, they see everybody in the north as Hausa or Muslim, which couldn't be farther from the truth. But we are too segmented into many different ethnicities in one space with different affiliations and loyalties. All I am just saying is that only the Fulanis in the North truly enjoy the power and privileges you people in the south associate with the North. |
Codepain:As I said, I don't give a sh about him. Just let the FG bring all these prolonged stuff to an end. Leaving him in a cell is making the guy to get some unnecessary attention. Let him be prosecuted and executed, if found guilty, or acquitted and vindicated, if innocent. The noise around him is getting out of hand. |
I don't care for Nnamdi Kanu or IPOB or even Biafra. They can all go to the loos for all I care. ... but I care for justice. Kanu should either be charged or released. That much he, at least deserve. Either ways, he will either be a hero or a martyr or even both. |
Wow! Why? We are waiting for details. There must be a reason. |
I am no supporter of Israel, but I know a lie, a propaganda when I see one. Iran is just trying to cover its shame. Let there be peace though! |
Scarrr:I am not even christian, so I don't really care much about their teaching. But from every day experience (I live my whole life in Northern Nigeria), you are more likely to die after hearing a "allahu akbar" than a "halleluyah." More people die having the last word they hear on this earth as "allahu akbar" as someone either bombs, cuts, stabs, stones or sprays them with bullets for a religious cause. That's all I am saying. Christians too kill, but mostly never for a religious cause. So what is it about islam that makes more of its adherents willing to kill others for it. That's the fundamentals of islam that I was talking about. There seem to be doctrines or teachings, or whatever you might call it that seem to make muslims more willing to kill others FOR THEIR RELIGION. And I love how you finally admit that there is something about islamic fundamentals that is wrong (Quit living in denial. There’s nothing like “especially in Islam.” The undiluted version of the Bible encouraged many of those same things as well.) What same things, if I may ask? Whatever it is though, it seems the christian "dilution" as you put it helps curb down the "same things" you spoke about that is found in islam. Why can't islam do the same as long as those same things will stop. Besides, having those "same things" in the bible still does not excuse them in the qur'an. What is evil is evil. And if these two books and their religions encourage those same evil: it doesn't excuse them, but condemns them as evil. I know we should be trying to encourage tolerance and unity, but that doesn't mean we should also turn a blind eye. This is not stereotype; it's real life. But, of course, you are trained (indoctrinated) to always defend them because you can't live without finding a narrative to force things to fit into your own idea of "god" and religion. This is what makes all religions "especially" dangerous. |
Scarrr:Yo! No offence intended, but I think your denial makes you the hypocrite here. As you rightly stated: there is already enough killings going on without the addition of a killer religion. Normal people kill for various reasons; whether they are christians, muslims or whatever religion. But add to that number, a particular set of religious doctrines and teachings that condones and even promotes (subtly or overtly) violence against others. What do you get ![]() It's a rhetorical question. If it isn't all too obvious to you already, then you are definitely a hypocrite. You are not just a hypocrite, you are also a fool (sorry, still no offence intended: I am just being straight with you) if you cannot see that the fundamentals of most religions, ESPECIALLY, Islam is one that that inspires the will to kill and harm others for a fairy tale cause. People have their own problems, but Islam in itself is a problem: a virus, and it demoralize me so much to see that people are defending and promoting it. I don't hate muslims. NO! People are just being people. But I hate the virus of Islam that turns people into zombies. If you still want to argue, just answer this: Which will most likely make you want to run away; A group of people shouting "Allahu akbar?" or a group of people shouting "In Jesus' name?" |
Scarrr:Yeah! The crusaders were soldiers fighting a war. Granted, it was a stupid war, but it was still a war. What war are the suicide bombers of today fighting? Hypocrite!! You will be the first to defend the Jihad of Usmanu Danfodiyo as holy war, but will also condemn the crusaders. |
I don't get it. What are these older women marrying for? Definitely for someone to take care of them in their old age. They can't bear children. Do they even have sex? (Serious question, do women 45 years and above still crave sex?) Why are they marrying younger [African] men ![]() |
Scarrr:Tell me something I don't know, how many of those shooters in the US did the shooting in the name of Jesus? How many of them shout "In Jesus' name while shooting? Then tell me if these islamist terrorist were not shout "Allahu akbar" while they slaughter people. Nobody kills in the name of Jesus. But most people who died from terrorism were killed by someone doing it in allah's name. I don't hate or dislike islam or muslims, but I m wary of them because it seems islam itself promotes and encourages terrorism. |
I 100% support the capital punishment for drug peddlers!!!! These people are heartless. Go Malasyia! Go Vietnam!! Go Thailand!!! These people are very much like terrorists!! |
For me It's the Micro Chip. How we are able to store massive information (including programming languages) into such a tiny thing. This is the one thing (with the help of electricity of course) which makes non-living things "think" (A.I). But the most daring to me though is flying and space travel. You have to be brave to trust in a machine supporting you and hurtling with you through the sky or beyond. |
Yeah Lets all pretend what individuals do does not affect generally the culture and mindset of a people. We are all free to do what we want. Our lives, our choices. But our choices have communal effect. We are shaping the mindset of the human race. What we refuse to break now will be a struggle for the next generation. Things like kneeling to propose, bride-price, religion of all kind racial divides and political enmity. |
gbagyiza:Dude was not arguing; he was stating facts. Nigerians have very low self-esteem, coupled with an unhealthy dose of misplaced confidence. We are so quick to condemn and ridicule Nigeria. We seem to find some sick pleasure in condemning ourselves as a country, especially when the people in power are not of our ethnicities. It is so bad that I once saw a South African woman challenging some Nigerians, wondering why we always love to condemn Nigeria online. We are de-marketing Nigeria too much. Granted, you are actually right o; we are so careless and have terrible maintenance culture, but Imagine if those weekly air crashes in the USA in the past year were happening in Nigeria. Imagine if the weekly shootings in the USA were happening in Nigeria. |
Playconsoler101:He actually mentioned the place: BERLIN! I personally think this is genius. It looks luxurious to me. One thing I find funny with religious people is that: they see the devil in everything. It seems they are the ones creating the devil itself in whatever image they fancy. Even the bible says Idols themselves are powerless and useless. But the typical 21st Century religious man wants to bring in the devil into the conversation. These people seem even more obsessed with the devil than with god. |
I think, by now, most people should already realize that Northerners are the ones everyone else loves to hate. And the truth is that there is no basis or justification for that hate. When it comes to food though, people, Nigerians even more so, always associate "expensive" with higher quality. Northern restaurants and eateries are generally cheaper; and that's generally because the Northern people are not always out to milk anybody of their money. The people from the south ALWAYS see that both as a sign that the food is of low quality and that the Northern people are not smart, especially considering the fact that they generally despise people from the north. It is made worse by the fact that the Northern people are not as loud and showy (or superficial) as their southern counterparts. For me though, I am from the middle belt, but I will rather eat any Northern food, whatever it is, than most foods from the south. I only enjoy any southern food when it is prepared at home. |
Let Him fix Karji-Narayi-Barnawa road and Jan-Ruwa-U/Barau road first. |
budaatum:I feed myself and pay my own bills, Thanks! I really wish I am interested in going back there again. Already made way too many sacrifices for it. I wrote and sold many songs, but I will rather go back to school than go fully into music. I have saved just above half a mil so far. Thanks for the advice! |
Hello! I created this account two days ago so I can post this. I got admitted 2012 into one of the universities of technology in Nigeria to study Engineering. I was supposed to graduate 5yrs later, but I never did due to different reasons (health, financial and my own carelessness). I deferred a session twice and carried over some courses too. And now in my final year I just discovered I can't even graduate this year either, after waiting for months in school during this lockdown doing home lessons and cleaning services. And my grades are not encouraging. Anybody who knows me knows that I am neither a dull nor lazy student. Right now, I am thinking of writing JAMB this year. But I am 30yrs old now and I feel a little too old. I have saved enough to see myself through, at least, two years in any public university in Nigeria; hoping to get a scholarship along the way. I can't stay in this place, I am planning to go up North. The skills I have are welding and music. I will appreciate any advice I can get here. |
