Politics / Prof. Wale Sulaiman's Message To Political Supporters by Kaybizmind1: 2:15pm On Jul 13, 2023
Prof. Wale Sulaiman's message to Political Supporters

I want to sincerely thank and appreciate the support of all key Social Democratic Party (SDP) party faithfuls, community leaders, traditional institutions, SDP candidates in Kwara South senatorial district, SDP political leaders, SDP party members, and most importantly all the 25,000 people that voted for me across the 7 LGAs of Kwara South for their support and belief in our vision for Kwara South in the last election. We gave it our best effort, but God's decision ultimately prevailed as people chose to re-elect my brother Senator Lola Ashiru.

Politics is all about interests at either the community, ward, local government, senatorial or state level. The only and most important interests that have ever mattered to me were those of the people who have been denied dividends of democracy for so long. These are the people that I wanted to serve.

I have always maintained that I am a professional in politics, not a professional politician. Democracy is about freedom of choice and expressions. Therefore, it would be wrong of me to give any directive to my supporters on what decisions to make with regards to their political affiliations, as it is up to each individual to determine how his/her interests can best be served. I do however urge all people in the course of making their decisions to support the state and federal governments in all ways that they can for the betterment of our state and country.

I believe that my life’s calling is neurosurgery, neurosciences, healthcare leadership and administration. Everything that I have achieved in life has been made possible through hard-work, dedication to excellence, honesty, the courage to do right (even when it's unpopular or uncomfortable) with the highest degree of integrity, and of course by the grace of God. I remain resolute to use my expertise and all I have to help move my dear state and Nigeria forward. Likewise, my family and I are also committed to giving back to the less privileged through philanthropy, and we will continue to support Nigeria’s economic development through our work in the private sector.

I wish you and your families all your hearts’ desires.

Democracy Day: NWG Advocates Robust Collaboration Between Labour Unions, Government

Nigerian Workers Group (NWG) has harped on strong collaboration between Nigerian labour unions and the government to ensure a generation of workers with a passion to drive government policy.

This is contained in a statement issued by the group and signed by its President Dr. David Kayode Ehindero FCPA, in commemoration of 2023 Democracy Day.

The statement read in parts: “As we celebrate the beauty of democracy and the progress we have made over the years, we are reminded of the challenges that continue to plague our democracy.

“Electoral misconduct and other factors have cast a shadow over our democracy, and we have also faced leadership challenges that have prevented us from fully realizing the gains of democracy.

“Nigerian politicians have often been ill-prepared to provide good leadership, and many of them have become accidental leaders.

“While the legitimacy of the new Nigerian President's victory is still being questioned, Nigerians are ready to give him a chance to prove his leadership acumen. We believe he is a Democrat who is well-equipped for leadership.

“However, we call for a serious look into the subsidy removal and urge the government to avoid transferring the cost onto Nigerian workers, as this could greatly erode their purchasing power and standard of living.

“We believe that democracy can thrive in Nigeria if we work together to address its challenges and build a brighter future for all Nigerians. On this Democracy Day, let us renew our commitment to democracy and work towards a better future for our country”.

The Nigerian Workers Group (NWG) is a non-profit organization committed to promoting the interests and welfare of Nigerian workers. The group advocates for fair labor practices, workers' rights, and social justice in Nigeria.

Career / NIWOSEC, Child Of Necessity Among Labour Unions, Says NOA Director by Kaybizmind1: 9:16pm On Jun 01, 2023
NIWOSEC, child of necessity among Labour Unions, Says NOA Director

Kwara State Director of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Mr Olusegun Adeyemi on Thursday lauded the approach of the Nigerian Workforce Strategy and Enlightenment Centre (NIWOSEC) to issues affecting workers in Nigeria, describing the organisation as a child of necessity.

The NOA director made the commendation at a conference organised by the organisation to commemorate the 2023 International Workers Day held at the Nigeria Union of Journalists hall, G.R.A, Ilorin, Kwara State.

“NIWOSEC must be commended for its holistic approach to workers' issues both in the formal and informal sectors. The organization has shown that it's a child of necessity going by how it is covering some aspect of workers' life not included in the operation of the organised Labour Unions,” he said.

The NOA boss also calls on the government to launch an aggressive campaign against ‘JAPA’ syndrome, saying “To develop our country we need both material and human capital and we want the present administration to launch a serious campaign on JAPA syndrome to develop our country.”

Also speaking at the conference, the state chairman of the Productivity Committee, Mr. Nasir Abdulkadir, tasked Tinubu-led administration on transparency and accountability over the proceeds of subsidy removal.

Abdulkadir said “Subsidy removal is not a problem but utilization of the proceeds is what people did not have trust in and Tinubu as a new president needs to convince us that the proceeds will be utilised in the interest of the masses that are going to suffer for the removal”.

Earlier in his opening address the president of the Nigerian Workers Group (NWG) and lead strategist at the NIWOSEC, Dr David Kayode Ehindero, stated that NIWOSEC was birthed to complement the efforts of the Labour Unions and cover areas they did not address.

“The Nigerian Workforce Strategy and Enlightenment Centre (NIWOSEC) recognised the importance of the Nigerian Workers and came up with the Workers Group idea to complement the efforts of the Labour Unions and cover areas they did not address.

"The group is an elite Network of Nigerian Workforce that brings human resources training and development to the forefront.

“We believe that investing in human resources training and development should be a priority for any nation that seeks to achieve sustainable growth and development.

"NIWOSEC is committed to ensuring that all workers, regardless of their category have access to labour-related services that will enhance their productivity and increase their standard of living.

“As we celebrate this year International Workers’ Day, it's important to remind ourselves of the need to maximize the human resources potentials embedded in Nigeria’s Workforce.

“We call on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to prioritize investment in the Nigerian workers, as this is a sacrosanct step towards achieving global standard and earning Nigeria her rightful place among the greatest nations of the world.

He made known that the organization has resolved some workers-related problems within the Military sector that are not allowed to join NLC, and has also rendered some free legal services to many other workers in the informal and formal sectors that approached them over what he described as injustice at their work places.

He said NIWOSEC is a global organization with recognition from United Nations.

According to him, membership of the group is open to any interested workers from both formal and informal sectors with registration available online

Politics / Congratulations Your Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR- Renewed Hope by Kaybizmind1: 2:02pm On May 29, 2023
It’s a new beginning in Nigeria as Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is sworn in as the new President of The Federal Republic of Nigeria. This is likely the first time in the history of Nigeria that a proven political leader is being sworn in as the Commander-in-Chief. His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu (BAT), GCFR is a self-made man who fought his way to the top while bringing others up with him. He is a survivor who has never been afraid to be disruptive and stand up to domineering and oppressive leaders.

BAT is bold and courageous, and that is exactly what Nigeria needs at this critical moment. We need a leader with a proven track record of success and unyielding tenacity. The tenacity to fight corruption, fix our broken educational system so that we may prepare our children for 21st century jobs, the tenacity to restore law and order, remove fuel subsidy that only enriches a handful of corrupt leaders, and the tenacity to transform our economy through diversification & investments in new industries with amazing potentials (agriculture, clean energy, tourism, entertainment, research and innovation and so much more).

I believe that he is a leader that will invest in grooming new patriotic, selfless, and progressive leaders with the capacity and capability to contribute to a new Nigeria with ‘renewed hope’ regardless of their family lineage, economic status or political alignment. I am optimistic that we will witness the transformation of Nigeria.

May God grant you the strength, good health, wisdom and a team that is as committed to a new Nigeria as you are. I pray that God blesses you, all Nigerians, and our beloved country.

Thirty-six state chairmen of the Labour Party on Friday denied any crisis among them, saying they are focused on the general elections.

Speaking with journalists in Ilorin, the chairman of all the 36 state chairmen as well as that of the FCT, Comrade Kehinde Rotimi, said that people should be wary of last minute attempt to cause disunity in the party.

Comrade Kehinde Rotimi, who doubles as the Kwara state chairman of the Labour Party described as untrue a statement credited to the Gombe state chairman of the party, Mallam Abdulahi Sanni, to the effect that the 36 state chairmen of the party were not pleased with the party’s presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi.

Politics / Rafiu Ibrahim Kwara South Conspiracy Theory Revealed by Kaybizmind1: 11:54am On Feb 23, 2023
*RAFIU IBRAHIM KWARA SOUTH CONSPIRACY THEORY REVEALED*

Politics is about service. It is the hallmark of service to humanity through quality representation devoid of fear and comprised thought process. These are the entrenched attributes and basic ingredients needed to provide representation, particularly in Kwara south.

Curiously, the trend of representation in Kwara south senatorial district over time had been figure head representation. The story has not changed with the personality of Senator Rafiu Ibrahim who is re-branding on an identifiable master – servant structure.

It is no longer news that he surrendered the mandate given to him by Kwara south electorates to his godfather, Senator Bukola Saraki while serving as member, Kwara State House of Assembly, Federal House of Representatives, the Senate between 2009 and 2019.

Regrettably, the gloomy picture remains same with the cult- like relationship between Senator Ibrahim and his anointed godfather, Bukola Saraki in his quest to serve as a senator in the Saturday, 25th of February, 2023 election under the platform of a dementia ridden political party, Peoples Democratic Party.

The good news is that, Kwara south people are wiser now. They are knowledgeable to decipher between altruistic and jaundiced representation.

According to a dictum; you can fool some of the people all the time, you can fool all the people some of the time, you certainly, cannot fool all the people all the time.

Therefore, Kwara southerners say NO to proxy representation, NO to a stooge masquerading as their representative.
As usual, in glorifying his paymaster and godfather, in 2018, 42 members from the 4 Wards in Ajikobi constituency were empowered by Senator Rafiu Ibrahim to celebrate Dr Bukola Saraki’s annual birthday anniversary.

The humongous amount of money lavished for the empowerment was obviously from the constituency allocation for Kwara south as a then serving Senator.

In 2022, Senator Rafiu Ibrahim enlarged the number of beneficiaries to 72 from the same 4 Wards in Ajikobi constituency to appreciate his godfather for handing over the Kwara south senatorial ticket to him.

*The empowerment items include; 5 Taxi [Mazda], 5 Tricycle, 5 Motorcycles, 10 Deep freezers, 10 set of Computers, 10 Inter locking filling machines, 10 Generators, 10 Scholarships in higher institutions, 10 Clippers, 10 Dryers, 10 Washing machines, 10 Sewing machines, 30 cash donations [100,000.00 EACH]*

From the fore- going, Kwara south SAY NO to capital flight representation through annual Ajikobi Ward sponsorship of political programmes that does not have impact on their people and continuous idolizing of Saraki dynasty to the detriment of Kwara south senatorial district.

Kwara south Say NO to representative of a godfather who is in dire need of financial rehabilitation after suffering an embarrassing waterloo in national politics.

Kwara south Say NO to Saraki dynasty tendencies.
Kwara south Say NO to capital flight representation under PDP.

Kwara south Say YES to a ‘son of the soil’ who will truly identify with their genuine aspirations with NO GOD-FATHER.

POST PDP PRIMARY: ITS TIME FOR SARAKI TO QUIT POLITICS

By Babatunde Olokooba

With his crashing at the just concluded Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential primary election , it may just be the right time for Senator Bukola Saraki to throw in the towel in partisan politics and save his family name .
Reports from the sidelines of the primary indicate that his dismal performance, despite the media hypes, throws him up as a perpetual loser in all elections in recent times .
This is the 4th time Saraki lost woefully in critical elections .
During the 2015 Presidential primaries among Nothern aspirants , Saraki lost woefully to the former Vice President ,Atiku Abubakar .
In the Presidential primaries of the party in Port Harcourt ,Saraki lost woefully in the primaries and later worked against his party .
In 20 19 , Bukola was completely humiliated in his home State , Kwara State , losing out all seats to the APC winning team under Governor AbdulRahaman AbdulRazaq as the new Executive Governor and leader of the State .
Not only did he lose his return bid to the Senate , all his candidates in Governorship , National and State’s Assemblies lost to APC .
Humiliated out of the State by the results of the 2019 elections , those who are close to him said it was then Saraki first mooted the idea of throwing in the towel in partisan politics .
Based on the disorientation and grave disbelief he suffered from the 2019 elections , he had refused to reach out to majority of his lieutenants and rebuffed most requests for assistance and guidance .
The Inspiration for him to give the presidency another shot came from his marabout who prophecized that he would be Nigeria President in 2023 and that he may regain control of Kwara political leadership .
Saraki was said to have regained enthusiasm and hope by this prophecy but he was said to have maintained a calculated lean purse in his political financing .
Some sources close to him claimed he might have lived on tactical sponsorship of his sister Gbemisola Saraki and a fellow Presidential aspirant.
Currently , Governor AbdulRahaman AbdulRazaq’s most impressive performance in all sectors in 3 years and his leadership style particularly in prudent transparent management of resources as different from the corruptive legacies of 16 years of PDP under Saraki’s leadership in Kwara appears to have given Governor AbdulRahaman a clean bill and easy ride to his 2023 2nd term bid .
Notwithstanding being secretly funded by his sister, Gbemi, the current acting Minister of Transport in President Buharis government, an intriguing plan lost on Aso Rock, the duo cannot match the financial fire power of the APC key members in Kwara.
Apart from being a self made billionaire , Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has endless list of young multi- billionaires with him in all the 3 senatorial districts in the Sate .
The list includes the famous business mogul Hajia Muinat Bola Sagaya , Salihu Mustapha , APC Senatorial candidate who beat the incumbent Dr. Yahaya Oloriegbe in the just concluded primaries in Kwara Senatorial district and Mashood Mustapha , a former National Assembly member .
Others include Yahaya Sarki , a very successful entrepreneur and loyalist of Governor AbdulRahaman Abdul Razaq .
Governor Abdul Rahaman AbdulRazaq ‘s die hard loyalists include high flying corporate executives and businessmen in Kwara South and Kwara North .
Lately , all the traditional rulers in the State , led by the Emir of Ilorin ,Dr. Ibrahim Sulu- Gambari endorsed AbdulRahaman ‘s 2nd term in appreciation of his AbdulRahaman performance in governance . The vast majority of youths , women and stakeholders across the State have endorsed Governor AbdulRahaman and indeed APC for a 2nd term .
Elites from Kwara who reside in major cities such as Abuja , Lagos , Kano , Kaduna and Port Harcourt have resolved to deny the Saraki dynasty access to power in Kwara State again
At both state and national levels , Saraki appears to have squandered and lost the golden opportunity he had to consolidate on the political legacies of his late father .
In fact , many locals in his Ilorin home town believe that the law of Karma behind his current political tragedy can be traced to curses his late father rained on him on his hospital bed because of the humiliation he suffered from him at the time the father had reposed all confidence on Bukola to be his political savior .
Bukola’s former supporters and die hard loyalists , in their thousands , accross the State are reportedly holding meetings with Governor AbdulRahaman AbdulRazaq to decamp enmasse to APC in the next few weeks .
Vice President Atiku Abubakar , unlike 2019 when he appointed Saraki as his Presidential Campaign Director General is said to have lost confidence in Saraki and will not trust him in any sensitive office .
In the build up to the primaries , Saraki tried to play a fast one on his fellow aspirants by foisting a consensus on them. A committee headed by Professor Ango Abdullahi could not reach a deal among Aspirants but Saraki issued a statement claiming he has been endorsed as the annointed candidate. This was discovered to be false in a interview granted with Professor Abdullahi
Two of the Aspirants Governor Aminu Tambuwal and Mohammed Hayyatudeen took their pound of flesh from Saraki by withdrawing at the last minute at the Presidential primary to ensure smooth emergence of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar as the party flag bearer for 2023 .
Finally , we must note Saraki’s blunder in zoning PDP Governorship ticket to Kwara North at a time Ilorin and the State are witnessing the best of governance in the State under Governor AbdulRahaman AbdulRazaq .This is seen by the many Kwarans as the final straw that will break the Camel’s back .
Governor AbdulRahaman AbdulRazaq is currently being celebrated for his uncommon political strategy which has brought together the best of the State in all the candidates running with him for 2023 .
The likes of Saliu Mustspha ,the current Turaki of Ilorin and APC Senatorial candidate for Kwara Central , Senator Abubakar Sadique for Kwara North and Senator Ashiru for Kwara South, Mukhtar Sagaya for Asa/ Ilorin West Rep. Yinka Aluko for Ilorin East and South Rep , the son of former Governor of the State , C.O. Adebayo and Tajudeen Abioye for Reps.in Kwara South , Bio and other in Kwara North and all for the State House of Assembly including not less than 5 popular female candidates in fulfillment of gender inclusiveness puts APC team as the best winning team to repeat the 2019 landslide victory for the party in 2023 .
Indeed Many supporters of Saraki vowed that “ Oga is done with party politics with this his crashing again in the just concluded PDP presidenti canal primary election .”
We hope Saraki will heed the wise counsel by bowing out and save his family name.

APC Convention: North Central Youths appeals to stakeholders to Adopt Abiola as consensus Youth Leader

The progressive youths under the agies of Coalition of North Central Youth Forum has endorsed the Ogun state-born Hajia Kareemat Aderinsola Abiola for the position of the All Progressive Congress(APC) National Youth Leader in the forthcoming National Convention coming up on the 26th of March 2022.

The coalition of the All Progressive Congress, APC, groups, Tuesday, threw their weight of support behind the aspiration of Hajia Kareemat Aderinsola Abiola Abiola for the Office of the National Youth leader of the party in the March 26 2022 National Convention.

Adeyefa Moses from Kwara State and a spokesman for the group while addressing the journalist in Abuja, said the endorsement of the daughter of the late winner of the annulled June 12 election, MKO Abiola ticks all boxes when it comes to experience, capacity, knowledge and loyalty to the ideologies of the party.

"Our choice of endorsement of Rinsola Abiola as the National Youth Leader of APC is borne out of her loyalty to the party and her antecedent in carrying out different party assignments diligently at various levels since the formation of the party in 2013. Between 2013 and now, Abiola has demonstrated commitment to the project APC at all levels. She has the quality and competence to lead the youth in our great party"

“In terms of capacity, competence and gender inclusiveness that we are all clamouring for, Hajia Abiola is the right choice. On behalf of the North Central youth wing of our dear party, we present to you Rinsola Abiola as our consensus candidate for the position of the APC National Youth Leader".

Justifying reasons for rallying round the aspirant, Adeyefa Moses said Abiola is known across Nigeria and among the youths and party elders. “She is a loyal and a faithful party member. She has plan to organize and institute APC youth fora, seminars and workshops, where APC youth will be developed in their various careers and skills through the support of other party leadership and relevant stakeholders, the statement reads.
