Something similar happened to me a few years back. It was during the Zain/Celtel chat period ( can't remember the name they were called then ) c2007 , I chatted up this girl on the platform and she seemed like a sweet girl , she was waiting for her final result then ABU. Three months into our chat we decided it was time to meet and so we fixed a date and venue. On the appointed day I got there 30mins early but she still came an hour late , that wasn't the least of problems I had with the date , immediately she walked in I almost did a double take , the dress revealed too much cleavage , her b00bs were almost popping out of their harness. Throughout the date I fought vehemently to keep eye contact but it was a useless effort and before the date was over she had to use her scarf to cover herself. Another shocker for me was when she ordered for beer , I don't drink and I expected her to take something light being that I ordered for a malt drink. Anyways the chatting reduced greatly after the date and eventually she got the message.

Haha! I know that feeling. I'm not an atheist, perhaps an agnostic, because there are a lot of passage in the Bible that I find impractical and unrealistic. Whenever I'm with friends in Nigeria and they raise some issues about religion and I try to engage them on why a particular quotation of the bible isn't realistic they always give me this cringe and suspicious look. I don't know why they expect everyone to believe and swallow religion hook, line and sinker lol.

Presently, in Europe, there are more atheist than theist. For one to be an atheist or agnostic isn't strange. They are everywhere. I never knew there are many atheists like this in Nigeria though. The comments herein are quite enlightening. It appears there could be more if not for anti-unbeliever phobia that is prevalent in a religious society like ours.

Yea. There are a lot of closet-atheist in Nigeria...A lot even go to church. I still go to church once in a while...Maybe like once in two months, when I feel people around me are starting to suspect that I am an atheist. The thing is, for a religious person to understand why I am an atheist, he has to become an atheist himself...That's how complicated it is. So, I'd rather just keep quiet about my beliefs, and blend in with the rest of the masses.

The government can use mass media to brainwash them into believing you will go straight to hell if you blow up yourself, and that their are no 7 virgins waiting in heaven for them.
