Professor Yemi Osinbajo, Nigeria's Acting President, will on Friday join other world leaders to witness the inauguration of President Paul Kagame of Rwanda in the country’s capital, Kigali.

This is according to his spokesman, Laolu Akande, who made the disclosure in a statement.

A 25-year-old woman, Mwuese Keleve, has been arrested by the Nasarawa Police Command, for allegedly murdering her three-day-old child in the Kadarko area of Keana Local Government Area of the state.

DSP Idirisu Kennedy, the state's Police Public Relation Officer, who hinted this in an interview with Northern City News on Thursday in Lafia, said the command on Monday received a report about the corpse of a baby found in a river in the Keana Local Government Area. The Federal Government has ordered that the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu be returned to prison.

A former governor of Abia State, Orji Uzor Kalu, on Sunday, stated that President Buhari’s health has improved when he visited him in London last week and he disclosed that the President would be returning to Nigeria before June 11th.

A 41-year-old woman has been arrested by the Ashanti Regional Police, for contracting a man to kill her business partner in Kumasi.

The suspect, whose name was given as Joyce Antwi, a trader and a resident in Buokrom Estate, and her intended victim are business partners who trade in plywood at Akwatia Line, a suburb of Kumasi.

According to reports, in October 2015, Joyce collected an amount of GHS99,000 from the victim to fund her business with a promise to pay back.

A Cameroonian Archbishop of Bafia, Mgr Jean Marie Benoît Balla has reportedly committed suicide by jumping into the Sanaga River around the Ebebda Bridge in Cameroon.

The Federal Government has revealed plans that will ensure primary and secondary schools in the country to start teaching Mathematics and Science subjects in indigenous languages.

This is according to the Minister of Science and Technology, Ogbonnaya Onu, who stated this at the inauguration of inter-ministerial committee on teaching of mathematics and science subjects in local languages in Abuja on Wednesday.

A clash between some police officers and some officers of the Nigerian navy in Calabar, Cross River state capital, lead to three of the policemen being set ablaze.

According to a report by Channels TV, the naval officers allegedly set the deceased ablaze in their station during the fight.

Khaled Ali, a prominent Egyptian opposition leader was on Tuesday detained for “offending public decency” amid what rights lawyers say is a wave of arrests of potential presidential candidates one year before an election.

Ali, a human rights lawyer who contested in Egypt’s 2012 presidential election, was questioned by the prosecution and ordered detained for 24 hours pending investigations, lawyer Gamal Eid told Ahram Online.
