Activities heralding the commencement of One Lagos Fiesta have heightened in the five divisions of Lagos State, including Ikeja, Ikorodu, Epe, Badagry and Lagos Island.
Ministry of Information and Strategy said this on Sunday in a statement, disclosing that organizers and sponsors of the event have since deployed musical, recreational and security equipment across the various locations slated for the annual end-of-year event.
The statement said residents and visitors in the areas slated for the event would be treated to the best of musical entertainment, cultural displays, comedy and cuisine from the state.
It said the 8-day fiesta would run daily from midday to midnight, with the first six hours dedicated to entertainment for children.
The statement assured Lagosians that adequate security measures and emergency medical services had been provided in all the zones throughout the duration of the fiesta.
It added that the state government had also deployed traffic management officials to man routes leading to all the locations to ensure proper management of traffic that had resulted from the recent fuel scarcity.
While urging revelers to be orderly and cooperate with security agencies, the statement assured all Lagosians that this edition of One Lagos Fiesta would be a bigger, better and more memorable event.

Multiple award-winning pop star, Wizkid, ‘ African Queen’ crooner, 2face and Mavin Records first lady, Tiwa Savage are billed to headline the maiden edition of the Akwa Ibom Christmas groove tagged, “Ukap’isua,” scheduled to hold on December 26 and 27 in Uyo, the state capital.
According to Mr Victor Antai, state Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, other music acts on the line up include Tekno, Phyno among others. He said more than 100,000 fun seekers are also expected at the “Ukap’isua” groove which means the end of the year Christmas festival and would feature musical concerts, dance party and beach competitions.
Antai said, the star studded event will also include a parade of five bands along the carnival routes, University of Uyo mini stadium – Ikot Ekpene road – Aka road – UdoUdoma Avenue – Unity Park.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi” — the latest episode in the blockbuster space saga — has raked in more than $450 million worldwide since hitting theatres, Disney said Monday.
The film — which features the late Carrie Fisher’s final performance as Princess Leia — took in $220 million in North America, and another $230.8 million overseas, a Disney spokesman said.
It was the fifth biggest global box office debut in history, the company said.

Many laughed at Wizkid when news broke out that he couldn’t fill up a stadium in Botswana, a show that wasn’t even his. Forgetting he once sold out the Iconic Royal Albert Hall in London

The issue got worse when social media users uploaded pictures of Davido’s show in a fully packed stadium in the same Botswana just to taunt him.

Cassper Nyovest, a South African rapper, proved he could pull such a weight in his Country by filling up a 60k capacity stadium.

This must have seem like a challenge to Nigerian Rappers who now feel that the next level has to do with filling up a stadium to prove you are the hottest MC.

Phyno took the challenge by filling up a stadium to the brim in South East Nigeria during his show, PhynoFest. Olamide aka baddo decided to also take up the challenge.

If his previous OLIC shows could shut down Eko Hotel and O2 Arena in London, then filling up a 45k capacity Teslim Balogun stadium in Lagos shouldn’t be a big deal to the self-acclaimed King of the streets. So what could have gone wrong?
