A mother and her four children were burnt to death on Wednesday night, March 17, when candlelight started a massive fire that burnt their house in Kwara state.

The mother, named Titilayo Adigun, and her five children were sleeping at their home at Ifesowapo community, Tanke, Ilorin, Kwara State, with a candle lighting one of the rooms, following days of a power outage.

The husband and father of the deceased were out to get some things when the incident happened.

Sources close to the family said only one out of the five children survived the inferno. The child is now receiving treatment at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital (UITH), Ilorin.

Christians and Muslims clash in Ilorin, Kwara state capital after the state government reopened 10 Christian schools which were initially shut down over a hijab controversy.

The government-funded Christian schools had repeatedly been shut down over a dispute in the usage of Hijab by Muslim students.

However, a fight ensued today March 17, after the schools were reopened in line with the state government’s directive.

The fight started after Christian officials of Baptist School, Surulere disallowed the girls in Hijab from gaining access into the school.

This did not go down well with Muslim parents, leading to arguments and eventual clash.

The situation grew worse as angry Christian and Muslim faithful throw various objects including stones and plastic chairs at themselves.

A Nigerian man living abroad is currently homeless and has to sleep in the streets in freezing weather after he was thrown out by his white lover for not cooking.

In a video shared online, The homeless Nigerian man was found sleeping on a bench in a dirty area of the city by another Nigerian man who recorded the incident.

The homeless man explained that he's been with the white woman for 5 months and satisfies her in every way.

However, on that fateful day, he was too tired to cook.

When she returned from work and asked why he had not cooked, he explained that he was tired and would do it later.

Woman allegedly confesses to sleeping with her boss and two other men after it was revealed that it was the cause of her husband’s illness and eventual death.

Some social media users alleged that she broke the “ibegwu culture” of the Ogugu people of Kogi state. The tradition forbids married women from sleeping with other men and has a punishment of their husbands being inflicted with an illness that can lead to their death.

It was further learned that when the woman allegedly confessed to the acts of infidelity, it was already late as her husband died thereafter.

Another version of the Biafra agitation seemed to have berthed at the weekend as the ex-militant leader, Alhaji Mujahid Asari Dokubo announces himself as the leader of the new Biafra defacto Customary Government(BCG), The Sun reports.

Angry youths in Imo state stormed a police station in the state and set it on fire after two siblings were allegedly killed by a police officer.
